Well it is more than I spend on a all adult all inclusive resort in Jamaica that I go to but I fly in a day early for a cruise and have hotel that night. If I could drive day of to cruise it would be different situation.

On average, for our family of 3, always in a balcony and a 7+ night, at the end of the cruise, with our sail and sign account, about $5,000.

This also takes into account casino, souvenirs, etc.

Sounds about right for my family of 3 also but this also includes Airfare, hotels before and after plus food while on land........

Thanks to living in Florida far less than other vacations which include flying. If we had to add airfare, cruising would not be as cost effective.

Avoiding the hassle of driving as well as added costs helps too.

I would say it ranges for a family of 4 from $2500 to just under $4000, depending on time of year, ship and cabin.

More $ on NCL since they have so many pay restaurants. More $ on Royal and Celebrity as their base fares are always higher than Carnival when we have booked.

For now cruising is the best value for our family. Everyone enjoys it.

That is not always true on other trips.

It really varies. We are lucky in that we can drive to the port and that is only an hour drive. We do have to pay to park but that is far cheaper than airfare and hotel. The biggest difference maker comes in the form of gambling. Husband and I both love to gamble. Depending on how we do we can lose quite a bit in the casino. We only book Pack and Play offers now from Carnival. I wont pay full fare and lose all that money gambling. We have also been to all the itineraries out of New Orleans (with the exception of 1 but we have it booked for June) so when we go to Cozumel for the 5th time we tend to stay on board or just walk around. New stops mean more for excursions as we want to experience wherever we are going for the first time.

On average, I would say around $3000 for the two of us but it could be as high as $5000 if we gamble and never win anything back.

Hello,

On average, how much do you spend per cruise? Total cost of everything: Cruise, travel, excursions, sail n sign card, etc.

Thanks!

Not being "rude", but...

What if I told you I spent an average of $15,000 per cruise?

Does it have any meaning?

What if I said $1500?

What does it mean? NOTHING.

You need to specify more parameters. What type of cabin, pre-cruise hotel type, airfare (first class or coach), etc. etc.

We are lucky enough to be in driving distance of several ports, usually have a balcony and usually go in spring, which can be higher priced and if possible we go for 8-10 days. I'd say we average about 2100.00 for the cruise and never have a bar bill;), so only tips and shopping. Our excursions have gotten fewer because we've seen everything and never spend on beach trips, have a beach year round at home. So there are so many variable it's hard to say what one overall price would be. Now if you start looking at overseas trips then you're talking some serious money.

Any where from $6,000 - $10,000. Depends on OBC, flight specials, etc. We usually get 5% - 10% cash back from our Discover card for booking our cruises. The extra money comes in handy when we're ready to book another cruise.

It varies widely depending on date and length of cruise,. We don't spend nearly as much as many are mentioning here though. It's just the two of us and we drive to port, usually using off-site parking. We cruise mostly for the relaxation so don't do a lot of excursions. We are thrifty (not tight, but we do consider whether the cost of something is worth the benefits). This way we can cruise more often. No judgement for those who choose to spend more.

Our first cruise was on Princess. 7 night balcony, airfare from MSP, one night in a hotel, and transportation in Houston. About $3k.

Upcoming on Carnival. Interior, 4 night, airfare, one night in a hotel, two one-way rental cars around Orlando - we are at about $1500. We will probably come in under 2 when all is said and done. I think 3 is about what our usual budget will be. Once we start bringing our kids we will be driving across the country instead of flying.

Lots of variables... here are a couple of mine:

2 people per cabin

we don't spend much, if any, in the casino and don't do excursions

costs include: gas (drive 500 miles to port), hotel night before, cruise, gratuities, lunch/dinner on drive to port, port parking, couple drinks each

1) drive to port, fall cruise, interior cabin $525 per person

2) drive to port, summer cruise, interior cabin $750 per person

3) drive to port, summer cruise, oceanview cabin $900 per person

When cruising with a family of five and driving two days each way, the most we have spent is just under $5,000 total (w/ hotels, gas, food, excursions, tips) for an 8-day cruise during holiday pricing. We have also taken 5-day cruises on older ships with a total trip cost of around $2,500. We always do something fun in every port but never spend money on board.

A short cruise in the off-season when I only had to pay for one person (and shared a cabin) but flew to the port the night before, about $500.
