We are looking to do the day pass to the Marriott hotel this February while on our Valor cruise.

I understand it is $35 per person. Does this include taxes? any other fees?

Did anyone have trouble finding chairs free by the pool or beach (it will be high season while we are there)?

Thanks!

We stayed at the Marriott in St Kitts. Two huge pools. Lots of Chair around both pools. Beach has great snorkeling -reef just out there. Best place to snorkel in St Kitts.

Would you have any photos of the facilities (beach, pool and restaurant) at the Marriott?

We plan on making this our place go spend the day while in St. Kitts on our cruise in January.

Also, how far is the Marriott from where the ships dock?

Thanks.

What does the $35 day pass include? Do you need to reserve ahead of time, and if so, how? Thanks!

We went to the Marriott - St. Kitts while on our cruise in September -- Price was $35.00 per day per person -- there was no tax - It was $70.00 for my husband and myself -- there were plenty of loungers by the beach (which I loved) - It was not the Caribbean blue water, more like a grey, (it is the Atlantic) but it was warm and clear -- my husband loved snorkling by the reef - saw a turtle and a barricuda among other things -- Sand was super hot - (I would bring water shoes). Spent the afternoon IN the pool - pretty big and not crowded. There were plenty of chairs -- Beach had an outdoor shower and rest rooms were not far from the pool -- Drinks at the pool bar were 7.00 for Capt Morgan and 9.00 for Painkillers, the Caribe beer was $4.50 (I am looking at the reciept.) They do add a 12.5% service charge - The hotel is huge - the property expansive -- We did not eat here, but there is a restaurant between the pool and the beach.

It was about 10 minutes from the ship -- Our cab driver came back to get us at 3:30 and we still had plenty of time to shop.

The day pass does NOT include beach towels so make sure you bring some from the ship.

I would not hestitate to go here again - Had a great day!!!

We did not have reservations -- we just showed up -- I THINK cab fare was about $12.00 - $15.00 -- Our driver's name was Gregory and our cab was a Lincoln Navigator - very nice ride - and as stated we made plans for him to pick us up at 3:30, but there were other cabs there also. We just went to the main desk, paid and got our passes -- no one ever asked us to see them.

The Marriott is HUGE -- It is both a hotel and timeshare resort -- There are three pools -- we stayed at the main pool. The beach is very big -

just remember -- water shoes and a beach towel and you will be all set!!

I was just at the Marriott resort last week and yes the cab fare was $12.00 back to the ship. This was for two people. We shared a cab from the ship to the resort in the morning with three other couples and were charged $3.00 per person. So it's better to find some others to share the ride.

As for the resort, it was beautiful. Next time I return to St. Kitts this is where I'll be going again. I highly recommend this property. And only a short ride from the ship.

Thanks, that is really helpful!

I'm assuming that you just showed up without making a reservation.....

I wonder if they ever turn anyone away if the resort is too busy.

I think we will give it a try.

Do your remember what the cab fare was??

Be careful about just showing up because I hear that the Marriott is closed to daytrippers around Christmas, if that is your time frame. We will be in St Kitt's the week before Christmas and I contacted them to find out if they were available. They will be on our day.

So basically, for $35 / person, you get entrance to the Marriott and the use of the facilities (pools, lounges, but no towels...correct?)

There is no drink or food included....just a nice place to hang out for the day. :)

I was at the St. Kitts Marriott last week $35 a pop, I'll never go anywhere else on St. Kitts ever again. We found this place in 2007 when we got sardine canned over on S. Frigate Bay left went to the Marriott and it's over, I've been going there ever since, last week was the 3rd time I've been to this FABULOUS resort, we had a BLAST just keeps getting better every time.

There is no better place to hang out in the Caribbean(much less St. Kitts) than this resort, the swim up Bohemia Beach Bar is too nice, staff was AWESOME drinks were great and the beaches(plural) one after another are unparalleled. Doing it again next year don't miss it one of the best tickets in the Caribbean. Hope that helps Todd

The taxi drive over is only like a 5-7 minute drive, it's everything friendly much less infant friendly it's St. Kitts for Pete's sake, very quickly becoming one of my FAVE islands.

The vibe and atmosphere around the port and actually anywhere on the island is one of if not one of the best in the Caribbean altogether, I'm a big resort day pass kinda guy, this is it.

Go have fun hope this helps Todd

This is the Marriott at Frigate Bay, right? If so, I don't suppose anyone played golf at the course there, did they? I was just looking at that for my husband. It is apparently open to walk-ons and is quite a nice course.

It's the Marriott at Frigate Bay, I don't play golf :) I go to beaches and drink alcohol and enjoy the amenities, the golf course is right across the street like I said I know nothing about golf courses but this one appears to be BEAUTIFUL. Well it certainly does look lovely when your driving onto the property, you cant miss it!!! :D You hubby wont be disappointed.

Golf rates for non-guests are $165 for 18 holes, clubs are $65, I couldn't find the cart rental fee on their website. There is only ONE Marriott in St Kitts.

Thanks. When I looked, there was a little icon at the bottom of rates that indicated that cart rental was included in the rates shown, so I assume it is.

Some people on Cruise Critic have reported that they've gotten a good rate when using a link called EZ Golf or something like that. However, I'm wondering if a person could be turned away when using that when the Marriott found out the person was not a member.

In any case, it's nice to learn from this thread that the Marriott is so close and a short, inexpensive cab ride! I suppose I could hunker down at the beach and he could play golf!

I spoke to the Concierge at the Marriott last week. We are arriving via RCCL on May 11th and wanted to know if we needed reservations. She assured me that no reservations were necessary. Another option that Marriott mentioned is booking a "day room" which can be reserved in advance. The day room is $125 and gives you a private room along with resort amenities for the entire day. That was you have a private bath and a place to leave belongings and hop on the wi-fi if desired. Since we are a family of 3, this is only an extra $20 to add a hotel room.

Back in 2010 we got a day room at the Marriott, there were 5 of us and we all went in on a room together, for a family it's thee only way to go. I would have done it last month when we were there but we didn't have enough people.

I took a change of clothes we kept everything in the room, took a shower after spending all day out at the pool and on the beach it was really nice, I highly recommend it if you can pull it off. Have fun.

For a solo like myself:

Taxi-fare to and from Marriott(approx.)$20

Day Pass$35

Bar tab(my bar tab was $47 it's never been that low they were having a special on Caribe Beers and I drank them all afternoon for $47 cant beat it)+$30 tip, $75 total(approx.)

Easily less than $150 for the WHOLE day I was first one on the beach and we were one of the last ones to leave. This is why I'm going back in Dec.. Hope that helps Todd

Fwiw, I spent a week at this Marriott last November and it was fantastic. The beach is gorgeous with free chairs and covered cabana type things. There are two pools and the main pool has a swim up bar. Beware the "painkiller" drink! The pizza is awesome but expensive, I think $22 for a cheese. For me, the place was perfect and if it's only $35, that's great.
