PattyG12 Posted September 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I'm not a smoker but ouch ... wonder how many people will be upset over this?! I've noticed many burnholes on balconies and if I owned the ship, this would have been done years ago! Thanks for sharing Patti!

chrisaf Posted September 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I'm sure all of the non-smokers will love their decision, however I do not. We all have our choices and I choose to cruise RC because they do (or did) allow smoking on the balconies. I don't ever smoke in my suite so that didn't bother me when smoking in your stateroom was no longer allowed. Unfortunately, I guess I will be choosing a new cruise line in the new year..... ahecht Posted September 4, 2013 #19 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I get the old policy on both my phone and work computer. I wonder if RCI's wonderful IT staff uses multiple redundant servers and only updated one of them. If this is true, I have to wonder if it is a result of their internal investigation of the Grandeur incident.

akcruz Posted September 4, 2013 #22 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I get the new policy, glad to hear it. It looks like they made the decision in July but just haven't made the official announcement. Wonder when that will be done???? I can see lots of unhappy people, but not sure where they are going to go as many cruise lines now have this same restriction. Artemis Posted September 4, 2013 #23 Share Posted September 4, 2013 Unfortunately, I guess I will be choosing a new cruise line in the new year..... Seaside2358 Posted September 4, 2013 #25 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I'm not a smoker but my partner is. I have cruised before but this upcomin cruise will be his 1st and last I suppose. We sail Dec. 24 thru Jan. 3 so this will not affect this sailing but I know we will never sail again with RCI if this is the policy. So sad but it is what it is
