  1. NCL's method of doing math is common across multiple cruise lines. Royal uses the same method on their BOGO or BOGOHO sales.
  2. Retaking the photo is one way to ensure there is no challenge. A challenge at a later point may not be in your best interest.
  3. Too many will ignore the instructions to update changed information. Requiring you to re-enter is the best way to ensure the information is current.
  4. No profits, no cruise lines. No cruise lines, no cruises.
  5. Price increases are a form of rationing scarce product . It's easier for the crew to blame corporate than to blame the supply chain.
  6. A wise man once said: "Life is too short to drink cheap wine." That said, because we drank a lot of cheap wine in our younger years, now we can book suites.
  7. That's not a great analogy. If you frequent a shore based restaurant often, the waitstaff will remember who tips well and will treat those customers accordingly. Dining in the Haven isn't a one time thing so tipping early can improve performance. We tend to leave a small tip ($3 to $5) after each meal.
  8. We usually tip the Matre'd $20 or $30 for a seven day cruise. We do this early in the cruise and we've noticed we always get a nice table.
  9. Standard pricing. Lot's of cruise lines do this. First the cruise line determines the total price for the cruise. Let's say it's $5000. They advertise 70% off the second guest which would make the second guest pay $750 (30% of $2500) but they charge the first guest $4250, total charge is still $5000. All their discounts are a variation of this. Second guest free? The first guest pays $5000. Same for BOGO. Completely disregard the sales promotions. Find a cruise at a price you like and book it. If the price goes down ask for a price reduction or a FCC. If it goes up, you're golden. I've got a cruise booked for Jan 2025 that has doubled in price since I booked it.
  10. Lots of threads about upgrades to Haven. Yes, you're getting your hopes up.
  11. Standard pricing. Lot's of cruise lines do this. They calculate the total cost of a cruise or airfare and divide by two (or four). Then they charge the first passenger the whole amount ($3000) and the 2nd passenger $0. By their standards the second passenger is travelling for free. Then in the billing that apply the average costs ($1500) to each passenger. They do a similar thing for 'kids for free' only dividing the total fare by four.
  12. You may find requsting the same waitstaff each night in the Haven. Probably a greater chance than in the MDR. I would suggest making your specialty dinning reservation as soon as possible. You can do this beginning 125 days out. You can select the venue and the time on line. The concierge can usually make changes upon embarkation. He/she can also make your reservations onboard, but there is no real reason to wait. BTW, there is a on-shore concierge group that can assist you in making special requests prior to your cruise. You can contact them at 855-625-4283 or norwegianconciergedesk@ncl.com. All you need is your booking number. I recommend you call since they may make suggestions about things you might not have thought of.
  13. I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about this. We've been on three Haven cruises and have always had at least two specialty dinners. I believe the choice of where to go for your dinners is more important than when. On our last cruise, we had the FAS+ which gave us four diners. We actually missed the Haven restaurant. While each night has it's pluse/minuses, we do not like a specialty dinner on the last night since we're usually getting ready to leave the ship. We also like to spend that night in the Haven where we can say goodbye to those who've servied us well.
  14. All sea day cruises, if there are any, would be very rare and have significant limitations. Current law requires foreign flagged ships to make one port call in a distant port.
