We had some other stop scheduled in Haiti, but from what I have read I would prefer Labadee.

Been looking to see Labadee since 2012 when Hurricane Sandy forced the Norwegian Gem to skip Haiti and head for New York. Gonna stop in on the 6/1/23 sailing of Liberty OTS, looks great, hope we don't have to share with any other ships.

Be nice if Transbridge Bus service would start up their prepandemic service from Bethlehem to Cape Liberty for senior rate of $50 roundtrip.

Can fly from Philly to Orlando for $83 one way.

For us, 150 miles round trip at IRS rate $65.5/mile is $98 plus $300 for 10 days parking equals the car service cost.

Gonna use car service.

Goes from $20/day to $30/day, for my 9 night cruise I am better off using car service, about the same cost, less hassle.

Just booked an inside on Sky headed to Canada out of Baltimore on 9/1/23 for $649 per person plus taxes and port fees. Got the 10 day return from Quebec for the same price. Hard to do better than that.

I'm thinking on such a small ship (2,000) there would be no reservations available.

Eddie Spaghetti was cruise director on the Sun 7 years ago. He said he was from South Philly. but he is actually from the Philippines. Anyone seen or heard of him lately?

Agree with "The Path Between the Seas" as a great source of history about the canal. Perhaps if you don't want to read all the history you could skip the French failure part. We did the canal on a 19 day on the Sun back in 2015, got some good historic info on the ship, which was unusual for an NCL cruise. The sun did not measure up to the Jewel or the Gem, was a bit boring, but We got new entertainers after going through the canal,that helped. Helps if you like trivia, join a good team.

We are Sapphire, so when we cruise with newby friends we list my wife and I in separate cabins with each being with one of the new people. That way we get extra Lattitudes meals and also extra chocolate covered strawberries.

Any check in advantages in any ports for a Lattitudes Sapphire who is not in the Haven?

Looking at some cruises by Sky out of Baltimore this year and in Asia in 2025. Never read any reviews, for years I ignored her because she was running 3 and 4 day booze cruises out of Florida. Any info about the ship, the layout, the crew, how it compares to Jewel class ships would be appreciated.

I have found in the past if I made a refundable deposit I could get more info on other activities on that sailing.

Happened to us 6 years ago with NCL, We got a full refund plus $1,100 credit which we used on a previously booked cruise 7 months later, making the second cruise almost free.

ASIA is looking good for 2025, with both the Jewel and Sky scheduled for some fine itineraries, making 4 stops in the Philippines.

My wife won our first cruise in a raffle in 2006, so Mariner was our first and favorite. Loved doing the Dubai to Barcelona cruise also on Mariner, just the right size, had the best bridge game I ever enjoyed. Liked Adventure and Anthem also, looking forward to a TA with Explorer next month.

Rule of thumb: Never book the last cruise before drydock nor the first cruise after drydock. Quite the april Fools joke on those passengers, would hope you could get some flight reimbursements.
