  1. How about Casa Guadalajara,in the Fluvial area , just a short cab ride away. They are on FB and Instagram. As far as I know no other website. Apart from their mexican food, most nights Mariachis will play Mexican music. https://www.facebook.com/casagdlmx Bachas Restaurant in the Marina area (also a short cab ride away) also has great food
  2. Anybody has an advice for a company to do a transfer from the port of Bilbao (Getxo) ) to the airport. Maybe with a small detour in Bilbao? Since we will be with 4 adults, 3 suitcases and a folding walker a regular cab is not big enough. Thanks
  3. This is the wrong forum. Progreso is on the caribean site of Mexico. Post is again at the Costa Maya forum.
  4. so does the hopon off boat. The regular canaltrips donot, they sail to and from a point.
  5. Since Amsterdam has a lot of narrow streets the hopon off bus might not the best choice. Better take the hopon off boat.
  6. No changes at IJmuiden. Unfortunately you will need a shuttle by the cruiseline to get into or from Amsterdam, Again Amsterdam is not closing the port, the plan is to move the terminal from the center into the western art of town.
  7. No there a not, see my answer in your other posting.
  8. The only shuttles to Amsterdam unfortunately will be the ones offered by your cruiseline. Public transport is possible but a bit complicated. As an example (by checkihttps://9292.nl/en ) https://9292.nl/en/journeyadvice You will need walk over a dike to get to the busstop. The bus will end at Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, walk to the trainstation and take a train to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Across from the station you will see some options for a canal cruise.
  9. Check restaurants like La Palapa or Eldorado. Both on Playa los Muertes beach. Close to the pier and walking distance from the Malecon. They offer beach club facilities, nice loungers, umbrella and a certain amount for food and drinks.
  10. Prices for 2024 will probably not known yet. Later this year you might try Hotel Ibis Centraal Station, budget but very decent and a good location. All public transportation available and walking distance from AF house. You are aware you need to make reservations online. Check the website for details. https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/tickets/
  11. No nothing is mentioned (yet) about the river boats.Riverboats use different locations, o.a. east to Centraal Station, sometimes west of this or even the main cruise terminal.
  12. Choose a cruiseline that visits either Geiranger and or Flamm for the best sailings into and from a fjord.
  13. I just wanted to make clear Amsterdam is not closing the port, only moving it outside the center. Of course I realise passengers (and I also) will miss the nice sailing out and the fact they cannot walk then into the center after the terminal opens in a different location. It is and was a nice terminal in a great location. Indeed the plan in Amsterdam is to build not only a bridge from the north to the south for bicycles but also partly houses. Unfortunately many buildings along Northsea canal are industrial by tradition. As you probably know Rotterdam's heart was totaly bombed during WWII, so rebuilding could be done in a more modern way. Also one of the former mayors stimulated much of the new buildings, like those close to the cruise terminal in Rotterdam.
  14. Once more Amsterdam will not be closed for cruise ships but wants to move the terminal more west of town. Of course the present terminal is in a great location, passengers can walk into town. Later they will need public transport, cabs or buses into town. Furthermore it is not just Amsterdam having problems with too many cruise ships, look at places like Venice, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Key West, many ports in Norway like a.o. Geiranger etc are also either reducing the number of (often very big) ships or even allow only small ships in the near future.
  15. Check Ibis Hotel Centraal Station. A budget hotel but very decent.
  16. Yes of course you can. But be sure to take one from the officlal cab stand, not the cowboys offering their rides in the terminal.
  17. There are frequent buses going to Stegastein. https://www.norwaysbest.com/globalassets/pdf/rutetider/rutetider-2023/bus-stegastein---prest-2023.pdf Since Flam is a small village I am not sure about tours from Flam. I know Tvinde waterfall is closer to Voss. However on Tripadvisor I found this: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g616213-d1887766-r133688409-Tvindefossen-Voss_Municipality_Hordaland_Western_Norway.html
  18. Trains between Amsterdam and Haarlem are very frequent. No reservation or advance buying of tickets needed. Nowadays just use your creditcard (each person its own) and tap to checkin and out at rhe oles near or at the platform. . Or just buy tickets at the machines at the station. For details of trains: https://www.ns.nl/en
  19. No reason to panic yet, it will take some years before the terminal will be closed. The plan is to build a new terminal more west in town, close to the Sloterdijk area. No more walking in town from the terminal then, but bus or cab will be needed. To me it is a strange decision.
  20. The plan seems to be to build a new terminal more west of town in the Sloterdijk area. That means people need transfer by bus or cab into town. So in my opinion hardly a good decision as at the moment people can walk into town. . A bridge for bikers might be built where the terminal is now, so people can bike from the northern part of town into the center. Also a strange decision since there are many ferries doing that crossing for bikers and people who walk. Donot expect the closure in the near future, it will takes some years.
  21. Yoiu can take a cab to Playa los Muertes in Puerto Vallarta and have some nice ours at the beach there. Restaurants like Eldorado and La Palapa offer beach club facilities at a certain price. https://www.eldoradopvr.com/beach-club
  22. The best beach with calm waters are either in Nuevo Vallarta, far north of Puerto Vallarta or in Mismaloya south of Puerto Vallarta. In both cases you need a cab to get there. However there is hardly any public beach that rents out chairs etc. Some hotels in Nuevo give out daypasses. Mismaloya is more or less the same. Playa Palmares, a bit north of Mismaloya has a nice beach and often you can rent chairs and umbrellas there. Again a cab is needed to get there. Beaches in general in Vallarta can have rough waves, which is of course not always happening. Playa los Muertes near the pier in centre has some nice restaurants, El Dorado and La Palapa offer beachclub facilities for a daily rate. https://www.eldoradopvr.com/beach-club
  23. There are regular buses going to Stegastein which you can book online. You can book a return trip with a photostop at the viewpoint. https://www.norwaysbest.com/globalassets/pdf/rutetider/rutetider-2023/bus-stegastein---prest-2023.pdf https://www.norwaysbest.com/things-to-do/bus-services/stegastein-viewpoint/?psafe_param=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzdOlBhCNARIsAPMwjbzwwKMjhoAUTBgUka__Jy_25rUvvmmBtKFaTcLSyXtteAszF6DD0EcaAoRGEALw_wcB
  24. Hardly or no tours offered at the dock in Norway. But in Eidfjord you can walk to the tourism office close to the dock and see what tours they offer. As far as I know (not been there) Kristiansand is a nice place to walk around.
