  1. I prefer to trust people. I get the point you are making, but when I'm on a cruise, I don't want to get bogged down with trust issues. You could drive yourself crazy otherwise.
  2. I've never had it. I'd be happy with sardines on saltines anytime anywhere. They don't do that on the ships....too bad.
  3. Haha, and then you can grab a beer and go to your lifeboat demo! Fun times!
  4. Laundry bag left on the bed and magic! It comes back soon shiny and clean as a new penny.
  5. I'm lucky to have a good one right now. She's great. I've not had that experience with all....I've been assigned a number of different ones over the past few years. They quit or get laid off and here we go again. I really hope this one lasts. I like the convenience of getting through to someone helpful. I've no patience going through the main lines and long waits on hold. Such a drag, wasting my life.
  6. Music is our thing and the Pinnacle class ships have more to offer in the way of night time entertainment. After being at the beach all day (exhausting), or laying around on lounge chairs on the ship (tiring), I'm usually ready for bed early. HAL has had that reputation forever, for the old and early bird gang, but that's why I love it.
  7. One thing I miss is the cooking demos in the culinary art center. I was an avid follower and attended every day, especially on transatlantics. They gave out samples, too, which were great. On those long cruises, there were plenty of activities for everyone, including in-depth lectures. The Caribbean cruises, by contrast, don't really have as much to do. Bingo just isn't my thing.
  8. Eat, drink, read, and nap. All good. Oh, forgot about that walk on the Promenade.
  9. 21+ member. Well, that didn't take long, lol.
  10. Florida shrimp is so much better than the shrimp served on board. The shrimp cocktail is nothing to write home about. Certainly not worth the upsell.
  11. And it's horrible. It's painfully jarring.
  12. Personally, I think the TSA lines in the airports are your biggest risk. You can stand in line for hours in close proximity to the crowds. And you have no choice about the matter.
  13. Never book a cabin unless you have cabins above you and below you. Stay very far away from main stages and kitchen galleys. We learned the hard way. But I am so much smarter now.
  14. I do love that ship. Thanks for all your wonderful photos and postings!
  15. I like to get jazzed up and enjoy the pizazz. On very long cruises, I bring a few very formal things. Shorter cruises, not so much.
  16. Maybe forever. People are still getting sick from covid. They want to protect their staff, as well.
  17. This subject is ever evolving. The anti-vaccination crowd is rejoicing. I'd still rather get on a ship with people who got the vaccine, but every time I go to the market the risk is the same. I'd just really rather not miss ports and have to face quarantine. There are those on these boards who say to go elsewhere for your vacation, but why should I? I expect the cruiseline to take every precaution to keep guests safe. Ok, flame me again, but that's what I think.
  18. I always said I'd tile the bathroom. Didn't happen. Some people do tile a coffee table and so on. I am not as inventive. I'll bet you would get alot of responses if you started a thread, lol.
  19. Boy, we miss the Atlantic Adventures where you went transatlantic both ways! Fabulous cruises...long and elegant. We'd see some familiar faces on them, and developed friendships with them. This was back in the day of the Maasdam and Veendam. Wishing they still had those. I'd sign up in a New York minute!
  20. This is rare. I love the laundry service and have never had a blip. It allows me to pack lightly and they do a better job than I ever do at home. Nothing I own is irreplaceable, and as it is, I have zero worries about laundry. I throw absolutely everything in the bag....no hand washing for me. Lazy beans here.
  21. Yes. Half the time, I have no knowledge of the luncheons which is weird but I get my tiles at Guest Services.
  22. This thread has become tedious. The so-called "experts" pontificating about "stomping your feet" and so on are very tiring.
