  1. Doubtful they will check (especially on the way back). Generally they are only concerned with weight at check-in. I have never seen an agent get out a tape measure.
  2. IMHO, the specialty restaurants are comparable/equally good on both lines. The main dining room (Compass Rose) on Regent is better than on Oceania.
  3. actually it does fill cabins because the lower-priced (newly vacant) cabins are easier to sell, especially late in the game
  4. taxis are cheap (compared to Regent transfer) and plentiful. Uber/Lyft also a good option. I would not do the ship transfer unless you had use/lose OBC.
  5. I wold not risk that early of a flight. Even with no delays, it would be uncomfortably tight, if not impossible. All these things would have to happen without delay: Ship getting to port Ship clearing immigration Getting off ship/getting bags Getting a taxi & TRAFFIC Check-in lines Security lines Immigration lines Personally, I would look for a flight after noon at the earliest.
  6. based on your photo, you are way too young to be drinking beer
  7. if you have not tried the apple tart at Chartreuse, you are missing out! quite possibly the best desert I have ever had.
  8. That is no problem at all - they are happy to have you
  9. Plenty of swingers. Does that count? also binge drinking
  10. Went thru immigration about 11am (no tour) and there was no wait. Intermittent sun/clouds/light showers all day
  11. AIUI = as I understand it. (frankly not a well known abbreviation)
  12. Well my wife and I (mid 50’s) did a “Game of Thrones” tour on a Regent cruise, and it was awesome. So to each his/her own.
  13. I heard Regent is giving a credit for those visas that must be obtained by the individual
  14. Try a French 75. Simply gin and champagne. Sounds odd but delicious. Normally comes with sugar on the rim but you can ask for it without
  15. Received from my travel agent: (Jan 4, 2024) IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BRAZIL VISAS FOR AUSTRALIAN, CANADIAN AND U.S. PASSPORT HOLDERS Dear Valued Guest and Travel Partner: We are pleased to advise that following consultation and advice from Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the Brazilian Government has announced a 90-day postponement of the requirement for citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia to obtain an e-Visa to enter the country. 16. I can assure you that no suites on Silversea have a butler that serves only one cabin.
  17. I have cruised Regent (in entry level room, thru PH) and Crystal (entry thru PH) and frankly, the level of service and the quality of food were nearly identical, in my experience.
  18. depends on traffic. 20 minutes (no traffic) to 40 minutes (rush hour) to 60 minutes (really bad traffic)
  19. you can fill it out when you get on the ship. The paper form will have all the proper options. Nothing to worry about
  20. a passport would satisfy this. What the OP reports is disgraceful. Hopefully this is an opportunity for an apology and re-training.
  21. or just call the spa directly. just as easy and less chance of a mistake.
