  1. One day of fido's roaming charges gives me a week of data 3GB for my esim (airalo). Suprisingly, it covered me for some of the caribbean islands (using the US esim).
  2. You can go on Uber to get an approximation of the cost -- if you want to be more specific, wait for the day of the week, approx time of day you will be travelling and enter it then. I think you will need an Uber XL...
  3. Try booking it through Wesjet parking site -- https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/airport/parking-deals
  4. Hmmm -- thanks for the idea. I was thinking of renting a car after my cruise and either heading directly to the airport or staying in Orlando. Never thought of staying in Port Canaveral for a day or two (and then rent a car but not during the disembarkation rush).
  5. OP, do you like to drink -- if so, NCL with their "Free at Sea" package (not really free, but hidden) is a good deal. Like most others, I would say NCL or Royal. I like NCL as it had a dedicated comedy club that we enjoyed after dinner. And nothing older than the Breakaway class. RCCL has more to do (Freedom class would be a nice start) -- ice skating rink, surf pool, rock climbing, etc.. if you are into that.
  6. Price out a minivan/full size SUV rental from one of those big box stores (you can cancel anytime--i.e. keep monitoring the price, it changes and the rates are not bad).
  7. What time are you arriving in Orlando? If it is a late flight, then any hotel (with a free airport shuttle) will do. If you are coming in a few days earlier -- depends on what you want to do? Theme parks? Beach? Kennedy Space centre? As per transport... you could rent a car from the airport. Shuttle to the port (best if you only have 2 in your party) or Uber. I'm trying to figure this out for myselffor my August cruise, so following this post.
  8. I wish they would continue it -- maybe limit the number per day.
  9. If you can do YC -- it will be a fine cruise. I cannot answer for the non-YC cruises but the only thing I can say is the entertainment isn't as well choreographed as NCL and RCCL (there's a reason it is only 30 mins long).
  10. Google it, there's some examples -- whether or not it is the same as what MSC is offering, that's an entirely different issue. Did it say it had a min number of people that needed to join? I saw that the Cape Canaveral one needed min 30.
  11. Actually, maybe OP should fire his TA as they were the ones that recommended MSC, even though he has been on Regent, Silver Seas, etc...
  12. Bur really, do you want to spend your time on the ship complaining? Shouldn't you be relaxing and soaking up the sun vs lining up at the customer service desk in hopes of something? I mean there are legit complaints but if the whole cruise sucks (but others are enjoying their time) -- maybe its not them but you? (speaking about the guy who complains and not you specifically)
  13. The op tried it -- didn't like it -- he won't be returning. He hopes his warnings will cause MSC to lose some business. Truthfully, it won't...and even if it did, someone else will cruise in their place. Thank you for the letter, I love reading things that didn't go right, it just makes me feel lucky I haven't experienced that. Side note: my first NCL cruise wasn't the greatest, but I gave them another chance and enjoy sailing on them. I take a vacation for what it is, not being at work and enjoy it as much as I can. If I don't like the meal, I look for something else to eat. Life is too short to mull over all the bad stuff... Side Side note -- saw a TV series on Regent cruise lines -- WOW -- but mega $$$ plus for fun they play ring toss? Not for me.... The show is "THE MOST LUXURIOUS CRUISE SHIP IN THE WORLD"
  14. YC inside is very small, that picture is deceiving but I plan to sail YC inside on my August cruise because I can get two YCI (I have a family of 4) for $2k less than 1 YC deluxe (I hope I do not regret). YC you get your private restaurant, bar, pool, lounge that over looks the front of the ship -- how much time do you really spend in your cabin? One of my favorite parts of the YC was one night they had a small party on the pool deck with a buffet seafood buffet, and music and dancing. You get free access to the thermal spa. My wife and kids like the afternoon tea.
  15. Pool is small -- it is like an oversize hot tub...
  16. Reviving an old thread/topic....I've booked the same cabin, 18023 for me and DW and 18027 for my DDs -- it was $2k less expensive than the YC1 rooms but I am having buyer's remorse. How was the room?
  17. Regent cruise lines but wow their prices are high...maybe one day...
  18. Maybe convince your friend to follow your lead and book a YC cabin --- if he's been on that many cruises, he will enjoy the YC and its perks. If not, tell him to bid to see if he can be upgrade for a lower cost. I love the YC area at Ocean Cay (just not the rocky beach -- water shoes), so I am looking forward to that again on my next cruise...don't miss out on that.
  19. safe than sorry -- I'd do it now...
  20. I booked two cabins -- one for me and my wife and the other for my kids (side by side not connected). When I go into my booking/manage bookings/link a booking number, I put my reference number and I can see my booking (which makes sense). Whem I put my kids' booking reference number, I get an error. I asked my TA to link our accounts, and she did but I still get an error when I am checking their room. I guess I can create a web login for my kids but I know with RCCL, I can enter the booking reference and see their rooms, so I can do webcheck in and all the other fun stuff. Any one else know the work around?
  21. What's the price difference to get them into the YC?
  22. YC -- I wouldn't worry about a thing -- they will take care of you well. I have not done Aurea experience, only YC, but I think they will have to check in on their own and not at the YC "white tent". Curious -- when you say kids, I'm assuming adult kids? I find (and that's just me), if you are booked in the YC, you will be spending most of your time there -- may I ask, why are the kids book outside the YC?
  23. You will find their washroom and sink in the cabin an interesting layout but that shouldn't damper your mood. Bigger ship -- more to do -- it was my first NCL ship and I enjoyed the waterslides and shows. But to be honest, haven't been back on and DW won't step foot on it again but the room layout bothered her that much.
