  1. It is my understanding that the on board booking "price guarantee" protects you in the event Regent were to lower the price, not for added extras. I guess that works well for Regent's strategy of doing the latter instead of the former, LOL.
  2. I have a lot of polyester items (outerwear) that do not need to be ironed (some knit but not all). Will the Regent laundry iron them anyway and melt them? I would like to take advantage of the free laundry, but so far I have been afraid to do so. How does Regent handle these items? Can I specify water & dryer temperature and no ironing?
  3. When I did this, Regent refunded my credit card as soon as the extra OBC came into my account. This was about a couple of months before embarkation.
  4. There are some included gateways and some "gateways" with an extra $249 pp fee. It sounds like Milwaukee is one of the latter. I know that Las Vegas is. If we want to do included air, we have to pay that extra fee, in addition to the deviation fee. Or drive to LA....
  5. I have not tried this, but someone on another thread posted that if you have your TA put a "hold" on the cruise, and you have a week or at least a few days before the deposit (or probably full payment in this case) is due, then you will have access to look at the shore excursion availability. The window of opportunity would be brief, and you would need to be prepared to proceed with payment if you are satisfied.
  6. I always use unscented laundry detergent because DH is allergic to the scents. We did use the Regent included detergent, though, and did not notice any scent, itch, etc., from it. IMO it is most probably unscented, but perhaps you could contact Regent with the question to be sure. It would seem that if it is "safe for the ocean," it would need to not include unnecessary chemicals like scents. The appropriate email address to contact Regent has been posted on CC many times, but I don't remember it. I just spent some time at rssc.com and looking at my booking confirmations, and if it is in there somewhere I could not find it. I guess they have a contact email, but really prefer that people not know about it and thus not use it.... Perhaps someone could chime in with that info? guestservices? onboardservices?
  7. We became silver on our recent B2B. The only real change that got us was a little earlier dining reservations for our December cruise. We had already missed the original early opening date. A couple of days after we boarded I was able to log on and make the reservations, still well ahead of the later date we were initially assigned. (I was so excited to be on the ship I forgot to do it right away.) In other words, the Regent website got the message about our upgrade to Silver without me needing to remind anyone. Like pingpong1, we will be turning Gold on a 2023 cruise, and it will make a lot more difference to the onboard benefits with that. Hopefully the transition will happen smoothly and without me having to ask for it.
  8. I would have deserted my DH also, but Regent would not let me because the ship was "full." For us it was 6 days. We were out after negative testing the morning of the 7th day. It is nominally 5 days, but his positive test was first thing in the morning on day "zero," which did not count toward the 5 days. If you are going to get an initial positive test, I recommend doing it late in the day. 😜 At least don't put it off until the next morning, because it will cost you an extra day in jail. If his test on either day "5" (the sixth day) or day "6" (the seventh day) had been positive, they would have tacked on an extra 5 days, for a total of 11 days in jail. Or if my test had been positive on day "5," that would have become my day "zero," and it would also have tacked on an extra 5 days for both of us. Then I would have had to have 2 negative tests on my days "5" and "6" (the 11th and 12th days), or else it would then have been another 5 days, 16 in total. Six days was manageable, but we would have been pretty crazy after 11 or 16 days.
  9. Yes, that is our plan for next time. We have only eaten there twice. The first time we wanted the full experience, and the second time all the stuff appeared before I could express a preference.
  10. We were on Odyssey in May, and I thought the Source App was a good idea, but clearly not ready to shoulder the communication burden alone. As others have mentioned, it would be nice if the information were also available via a website so that they could be accessed by a laptop besides just on a phone. The phone is just too small a screen to view it efficiently, IMO. My biggest complaint about the app was that the Herald did not appear in the Source App until the morning, or at least after I retired for the evening (not that early, either). How can I figure out what time I need to get up if I do not know the morning schedule the night before? I asked my suite attendant paper copies and was initially told it was not possible. Eventually I discovered that there is a supply of them in Seabourn Square, and occasionally they even delivered a paper copy to my room. If they can print it the evening before, they should be able to put it on the app then also, but apparently they could not. As for the electronic tickets, I would not mind that so much if they had worked properly. I got the tickets, but on my phone they never included the bar codes. DH has exactly the same (Android) phone, and he did get the bar codes. Very weird. Fortunately, we did the excursions together and both tickets were on both phones, so they were able to scan my ticket on his phone. And yes, we had tours where the barcode had to be scanned. I don't know what they would have done if I were on my own with the ticket but no bar code, but they would not have liked it at all.
  11. Yes, this is a good backup plan if you were unable to make your reservations in advance on the website, or if you don't like the reservations that you were able to make. However, at least on our recent Mariner voyage, they would not let you make additional reservations (beyond one per specialty restaurant) until at least 2 or 3 days into the cruise.
  12. I have considered asking them not to bring the routine appetizers, for just that reason. Has anyone tried that? Or can you ask them to bring some but not others? They are not really my choice for what calories to ration myself, but I enjoyed everything else about Sette Mare.
  13. There were binoculars in our Concierge cabin on Mariner earlier this month, in the cabinet with the glassware as Martha mentioned above. No speaker.
  14. Andy was scheduled to leave on Oct. 15. The new CD (in training?) was on board Oct. 3-15 for orientation. I think it is a woman, but not sure and don't know her name.
  15. Thanks, GOARMY. I did not see much of the crew for the first half of the cruise, since I was confined to my cabin during that time.
  16. There was a block party on the 9/21 Mariner sailing, and later a more than usual Covid outbreak, I think in the 20s, and the crew had to wear masks. I am pretty sure there was no block party on the next segment, and also no universal crew masking requirement. I don't think you can count on a block party yet.
  17. The egg was very runny. The white was only half cooked, and the yolk was essentially raw.
  18. I have not had a croque m/m before, so take my opinion with that in mind. DH and I have shared the croque madame twice on our current cruise, and we loved it. It was very moist and delicious. But way too much for one person, IMO.
  19. We had an excursion booked and another waitlisted for the same time on our current Mariner voyage. The waitlist cleared before embarkation, and we ended up with tickets for both delivered to our cabin. We turned in the extra ones at the Destinations desk.
  20. Yes, hopefully. 🤞🤞🤞 I don't think we will start with a Connoissuer Wine Lunch, though. We will not be dining with others, at least not without full disclosure.
  21. The point is that they should make it available digitally AND on paper. I like both, and I want both available. Making Passages available digitally does not need to mean no paper copies.
  22. Once they put it online, it should be a simple matter to offer it both on a mobile app and available to download via a website. I like the paper copy and dont want to give that up, but it would be great to have it electronically as well. I think they should do all of the above. An electronic version would be much easier to take home for a souvenir and also to share on CC.
  23. That must be the difference. After Montreal you don't leave Canada and then come back after US ports.
  24. Actually, you DO need a second Arrive CAN. We just boarded Mariner today in Vancouver. Those who did not have ArriveCAN with a date of 9/28 (for our one Canadian port stop in Victoria) were sent off to a separate seating area to work on getting one. The people behind us in line only had the one for air arrival yesterday, and they were told they had to get a new one for the ship. I was very glad I had taken care of ours last night.
