  1. I expect a little more than "at least I don't have to punch in" for my hard-earned vacation dollars, no matter how many of them I spend. Each to their own!
  2. The food is not free. I wish people would stop saying things on a cruise are free. They are included but by no means free! If you're getting free cruises spill the beans on how!
  3. Carnival’s food has seriously nosedived since COVID. I am not exaggerating at all when I say that I can get a better meal at Golden Corral nowadays. And that is a crying shame.
  4. Well if Carnival doesn't have a ship that can fit there, I don't see what option they have. This is decades in the future though, the Spirit class isn't going anywhere and it's basically the same size as Fantasy class.
  5. Have not been on Paradise, but on other Fantasy class ships they'd play ESPN on the TV outside of the coffee bar and on the TVs in the casino. There is no sports bar on Fantasy class.
  6. Probably the same reason why they say Port Canaveral (Orlando) on their booking engine. Those are the nearest major cities/airports.
  7. I was on Sunshine a few weeks ago, also arrived at the terminal at around that time and also sailed through the checkpoints. It was second only to our cruise in February (back before the ships were sailing full) as the easiest embarkation ever in Charleston! It's a shame that just as they've really figured out how to make the most of their facilities, the city is pulling the rug out from under them and making them close the port. It's been a long time coming but still sad.
  8. Carnival's food has taken a serious nosedive since COVID. I hate that you found roaches in your room 4 times. I would have definitely moved rooms no matter if it was the last night! Disgusting! I hope you seriously leave your suitcases outside for a day or so and wash them IMMEDIATELY before you bring them inside. I know it's hard for hotels and cruise ships etc to keep bugs under control with so many people coming and going all the time - but nasty!!!!
  9. People enjoy living in the past sometimes.
  10. The ships will be at 100% capacity or more.
  11. I would have shamelessly ripped the cabin door marker for E137 off the wall on my way out. My wife and I booked that room several times and firmly believe that is the best location for a Fantasy class ship - at least, as of now (we have not yet stayed on the Elation's Promenade deck but that seems even better).
  12. A fun atmosphere is fine. But people using drugs and having loud get-togethers in the hotel corridors at 2AM is not something you should have to put up with no matter when you decide to cruise. The crew should be able to keep those behaviors in check.
  13. Probably a week or so, given the beaching is scheduled for Nov 7 and it takes 17 days to get to Aliaga.
  14. I will just add on to say that I have had good success with calling PVP/Casino department to move a cruise instead of cancel. Canceling will typically mean a penalty, moving they sometimes have discretion and can often avoid the penalty.
  15. Yes, just tell the dealer you want chips charged to your S&S. There is a 3% fee. Or draw the funds out on a slot machine and tell the dealer you want chips drawn out of your slot account. No fee. Have also heard you can get cash out of a Kiosk at no fee, then you just hand over the cash to the dealer. Never tried that.
  16. And the drinks on us, and the steakhouse dinners, etc - the house always wins in the long run.
  17. I saw the SC ports plaque. I’d like to have it. Oh well. Ecstasy will always be in my memories.
  18. Amber Cove is a private port, there is only one pier. You might be thinking of something else. The pier is here on the map: https://goo.gl/maps/EiFyE2VWx1RZyyVx5
  19. Many of us are hopeful Carnival will reverse the cutbacks soon and reinstate a lot of the things we used to love. Maybe you'll be able to experience the filet again.
  20. My last cruise on Sunshine, I got a lot of drinks from the Casino bar and I felt like they were fairly weak. Granted I was not at the bar, I was at the Fun 21 table, so I couldn't watch them make them.
  21. It's a tasting menu. When I did it years ago on Ecstasy I remember leaving full, but not stuffed. It's more of an experience than a full meal though. I will say though that while my wife and I enjoyed it, we don't really desire to do it again.
  22. Since the restart: The scrambled eggs are strangely watery and flavorless. The bacon is greasy, limp, and you feel like like you're taking mom's tupperware to school when you ask for it on the days they even bother to have it. The sausage most days is just cut up hot dogs. When you actually get real sausage, it's brown and serve links from the frozen section of Walmart. The biscuits taste like a paste of raw flour and baking soda and could be used to drive nails. The only thing that's worth eating is the eggs benedict and even that is usually cold and bland. What is actually good to eat on the breakfast buffet in your opinion?
  23. I think the breakfast buffet is disgusting - there is nothing on the breakfast buffet I think is good these days. So I do like sea day brunch but it is NOTHING like it was as several have said. In general Carnival’s food has gone way downhill since the COVID restart.
  24. I agree, Deck 7 on Freedom is a great location.
  25. Because as I said testing is still required for another 12 days.
