  1. You need to start your own cruise ship.
  2. @Goldenknight It would depend on the % or actual $ value but I think you will find that NCL is quite good when they do a full cancellation. Don't expect it if they just change a couple of ports.
  3. @TopofWorld You must have got a bad crew OR officers who haven't trained their staff properly. We had 57 days on the Jade in Nov/Dec and 25 on the Jem in Apr and the Guest Services Desk staff were brilliant on both,
  4. @hawkeyetlse Yes the casino also stayed closed for the entire last night, so many people were left with chips and tickets that they were unable to cash out before disembarking. The information was widely announced both in the Freestyle Daily and in the Casino so people should have known. @podgeandrodge Can they charge that 10% if you're on a beverage package? They CAN and sometimes DO!! Our account had some charges and at other times a zero charge!!
  5. @gregluk The documents shown in photos are for two different ports; the regulations are set by the port authorities not countrywide. Just like the rules on taxes at some US ports but not others.
  6. Just set it going after the first time and go and make a cup of tea!!
  7. @podgeandrodge It would be helpful if NCL could post the "Port of Civitavecchia Regulations" referred to, if only to get an idea of the background/logic to such a weird rule. The rumour on the Gem was that the Italian Authorities were charging too large a "Fee" for Sales to take place and for the Casino to open. I am not sure when and where but one evening we were in Le Bistro and the staff were in a discussion about the "Free" Latitudes bottle of wine. The rule they were working under at the time was that Bottles could not be SOLD!!
  8. It was the same at Livorno recently on the Gem but we did get my Drambuie later in the evening. If I remember cigarettes and cigars could not be sold and the "shop" was closed all evening and the casino was closed for the whole time after we left Cannes to go to Livorno and also after Livorno.
  9. BUT some Freestyle Dailies tell you that and it is NOT enforced, especially in the MDRs. That was the case on the Gem recently. Check on-board just what and when anything on this situation is enforced.
  10. @arpie05 The best result would be to have a friend ready to take over the booking.
  11. @david_sobe Not to drift off point but I have always wondered why NCL has not opened the specialty restaurants for lunch. Crewing. On our last cruise we were able to eat lunch in Cagney's with the suite guests. On many days there were very few guests present; not very economic. I cannot see enough pax wanting this to warrant opening even one specialty. UNLESS they opened Moderno where it was next to Cagney's and used the same staff. It would have to be done on a pay/book basis so the staff numbers could be calculated.
  12. @jlandz09 I imagine that as the HO is in Miami it would be based on EST
  13. @cruiseny4life I've never accessed the New Zealand site, so not sure what differences you have over there. We don't have one we are lumped in with the Australian one. We have lots!!! The "Onboard Service Charges are additional." confused me, as well. I'm guessing they mean are in addition to your cruise fare/drink package/specialty dining gratuities from Free at Sea? I agree but didn't confuse me as I am used to finishing, or correcting, rubbish printed by NCL. And there is lots of it. Next time you cruise take a red pen and proof read the Freestyle Daily!! No one on the staff ever does!!
  14. @cruiseny4life For more details, go here: https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/what-is-onboard-service-charge I cannot get your link to work. But I see a usual peculiar NCL statement. "Onboard Service Charges are additional" ????????????? TO WHAT? An incomplete statement
  15. @fstuff1 Where are you travelling? If it is any large body of water with no land nearby you may well be going in and out of satellite coverage as we did for 5 days from New York to Ponta Delgada.
  16. @RocketMan275 It appears in your account but NOT in your account in MY NCL. It is usually only visible to whoever has arranged the FCC in the first place. Ours, in the past, only are visible to our PCC. He only checks on our account when I ask him a question and if there is something there he lets me know. If you have been informed that you will get some FCC always check with your PCC, if necessary on a weekly basis!!!
  17. @TrumpyNor So all replies from someone who can tell me the actual meaning of that sentence when it comes to price-drop FCC will be highly appreciated. Hello again Anita Sorry but I don't have a direct line to anyone in NCL who thinks up their complicated English. I have yet to get a specific answer to any of that type of query from anyone in NCL. They only make up the rules and think about the actual meaning AFTER the event when people like you and I challenge a ruling. I would suggest you try Katty (?) Byrd but DON'T mention my name!!!!! VBG Mike
  18. For me always the last one; that is till I am getting close to the next which WILL be the most scenic!!!!
  19. @TrumpyNor Hello Anita These credits will be available for one year to book and sail, upon completion of your current sailing on Debarkation Day. My reading of this is that the credit will be in your account on the date you debark on August 15th or one day later depending on the date in Miami rather than in Tromsø or Reykjavik; though they are probably all the same unlike for me!!!! Then you will have to book AND depart on the cruise you want to apply it to, that is it will have to leave BEFORE August 15th 2024; although you could argue that you could depart on the 15th. However I wouldn't bank on that. The "present" cruise finishes in the early morning of the 15th and any cruise that starts on the 15th does so later in the day!! NCL tend to be more pedantic about things than even I am. The completion of that cruise should have NO effect on the usage. HTH Mike
  20. The check of check-in times depends on the port and many do not adhere to them; YET!! The best thing would be for you to either wait till she is available or for you to do both as it is on the same booking.
  21. Easy thing, if that bothers you don't eat in the buffet where you could be offended by the actions of others, eat in a serviced restaurant. We always do!!
  22. @Muckyduckway There must be some, as we take a bottle of Muscato, to bring home, and drink other wines from the normal list while on board.
  23. @Travel To Be Free Remember that you will be able to get group numbered tender tickets for the whole party so watch the Freestyle Daily and go EARLY. Also if you are high enough in Latitudes you don't need a tender ticket, you can join the line, at the back, when you wish. And again, if you are in a suite or the Haven, the concierge will get you off at the front of the line.
  24. @Travel To Be Free We did:- Monaco & Monte Carlo From Cannes, you’ll drive to Monaco, about an hour where after leaving your coach, you'll be carried to the top of the rock by escalators and elevators. Lots of people part journey two lifts carrying only 19 On the upper level, enjoy a guided walking tour passing by the Oceanographic Museum, the cathedral, and view the exterior of the Prince's palace. 20 minutes After a short period of free time, about an hour for lunch and shopping you’ll re-board your coach and head to Monte Carlo 20 minute drive to enjoy some additional leisure time 30 minutes near the Place du Casino. You may wish to stroll across the street to admire the Hotel de Paris, do a little window shopping, or even try your luck at the Casino de Monte Carlo you can go in the atrium free or the Cafe de Paris Casino to go in needs an actual passport,. Need To Know: Casino de Monte Carlo (entrance fee of 17 Euros in cash) opens at 2:00 PM to gamble. Visitors must be at least 18 years of age, show passport or driver’s license. Formal dress is not required to enter most of the casino, but smart dress is strongly encouraged; no shorts or flip-flops are allowed. There is a free-admission, American-style casino at the Cafe de Paris, which opens at 10 am. see above This tour is not considered suitable for wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. To reach Casino Square, there is an approximate 10 minute walk and 80 steps from the coach parking area. Guests must take escalators and elevators from the parking area at the Rock of Monaco to the Old town. To get back down requires a number of steps missing the top escalator. We had 8 buses, the meet point at the end was VERY crowded with other buses dropping off passengers. Ours came at 5-10 minute intervals and the return journey was really slow due to the traffic.
  25. I am not a coffee aficionado and found the coffee in the Suites dining rooms (French Press at breakfast) and "regular" at lunch to be very strong and gritty. In the evening it was really a mixed bag depending on who made, how long it had been standing and how hot it started. However I had a simple coffee/hot water maker in the room and always got a similar cup of coffee from the bags provided that i found very drinkable.
