  1. Good morning and thanks all! @StLouisCruisers my condolences on the loss of Mark! @Quartzsite Cruisercongratulations on the new motor home, you will love those recliners! @kazu the bursary is a wonderful thing to honour Jose! Woo hoo! We’ve seen Albania from Corfu, they are very close, lovely to see the photos! We've been out hunting with the camera and after two years finally saw another great grey owl! Met a lovely wildlife photographer from Montana. I’ll share my cell photo and than DH’S professional camera. Good luck if you find it! zoomed in
  2. How was the motion of the ocean on your way across? I am a bit of a fairweather sailor, so curious? Thanks!,
  3. Kona has been our favourite place for many years! And a great place to ride out winter!
  4. Good day and thanks all! I don’t like changing times. Would prefer to stay on standard. @ger_77 are you on permanent standard? We were given the option to stay on permanent day lite time, but not to stay on permanent standard. @StLouisCruisers I loved your dinner story! I’m sure it was a great experience. We have had the pleasure of dining with the staff captain. @kazu never a dull moment, how fortuitous you taught Ivan home! @aliaschiefthanks for the info on the seasick remedy. Great to have options if I venture farther. @smitty34877thinking of you today as you say goodbye! @cruising sister what great news about little Murphy! @Cruising-along hope your DGS recovers quickly!
  5. If you see another p900 aboard, it’s likely my cousin! Have fun!
  6. We too are booked on that cruise next October. We were actually booked this October but had to cancel a few months earlier. We’ve been trying to do this cruise for a few years, and it was one HAL cancelled during the height of the pandemic. My cruise plans pale in light of the situation. However, a proactive approach would be appreciated.
  7. I’ve read that Fall colours are more in November. We’re hoping to see them too one year, I’m sure they’re spectacular. There are some maps put out like they do for cherry blossom time. In our experience we found it very easy to use credit cards, even in the convenience stores. We also found if you needed cash the ATMs in 7 -11 were at a fair exchange rate.
  8. Good morning and thanks all! Appreciate seeing the photos of Guernsey, Jacqui, Sandi, and Lenda! I always think of the book The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. I loved it and the movie. @Sharon in AZ my condolences on the loss of your aunt to you and your DM! @57redbirdglad to hear you’ve had some relief! @Vict0riann and @sailingdutchy and @kochleffel an early Bon Voyage! We too have sailed on all her sisters, and do love the pinnacle class. @smitty34877glad to hear Tana is showing some improvement, but it takes a long time for even a very healthy person to recover from pneumonia. I just completed that survey too, I feel like a beginner as our longest cruise is 24 days, but we’re willing. My dear cousin who we sailed with in Japan is on a 73 day one! Wishing everyone a happy Hallowe’en,
  9. Good morning and thanks all! Yum on both drinks! DH has family in Northern Ireland and would have had a farm if it weren’t for squatters. The farmhouse was home for several children as they were evacuated from Belfast during the war. We loved the crown bar and the antique shops are amazing. Highly recommend the giants causeway and spending time in Northern Ireland. If you go absolutely try the Banofffee pie!
  10. In Kochi we really enjoyed the castle and the straw fire roasted tuna. Plus some wonderful vintage silk kimonos for sale. We just used the HAL shuttle and walked easily. Hope it’s okay that I shared these photos. We so thoroughly enjoyed our trip and found it much easier than expected to visit.
  11. We also really enjoyed the Adachi museum and garden. We did this on a private tour along with a visit to the black Matsue castle.
  12. Thanks for taking us along! Sounds like you had really lovely weather. I’m slow reading so wanted to respond about some of the ports. We really enjoyed visiting the fortress in Hakkodate and enjoyed the very fresh crab for lunch. It’s a short reasonable taxi ride.
  13. Good morning and thanks all! @seagarsmoker Bon Voyage! @Heartgrove glad you went to urgent care, you don’t want an anaphylactic reaction! @cruising sister hoping little Murphy holds her own! @aliaschief wondering what flavours, lol! @luvteaching and @kazu hugs, love the caring sharing! We were blessed with some swans.
  14. As always with Insurance the devil is in the details. We just got a new card that only requires 70% of the trip to be charged to it, for cancellation insurance. So that may be helpful in the future. But we always have a year round medical coverage that has trip interruption and cancellation as well. @Haljo1935 that dinner looks wonderful!
  15. Lol! Great minds think alike! I even like the duck wraps at Boots in LHR. But best of all was the ramen bar and sushi chef at the ANA lounge in Narita
  16. The Trulli are very cool. We had the pleasure to stay in one. As is Matera and a visit to a Masseria. In Bari itself, there are ladies who make orchiette, a hand made pasta that is delicious.
  17. Good morning and thanks all! Really appreciate all the wonderful photos of the port, although some aren’t loading for some reason. @grapau27 happy birthday, Graham! @tupper10 agree with your sentiments and that song. I also echo your suggestion to: @Cruzin Terriyears ago, we had a similar response from Amex when they said a flight cancellation due to a fire in the Rome airport would not be covered. DH insisted they send us the forms and surprise they paid our claim. Sometimes it’s worth pursuing as the first answer of no is designed to put people off. The eagles and swans are back on the river, hope to get some closeups later with the big camera. IMG_3168.mov
  18. I agree, people have trouble finding things as it is. They can choose to read all, some or none. But it’s nice to have one place with so much good information. I appreciate bring consulted.
  19. Also try really hard to see the Gallery Borghese, this small museum has the most amazing sculptures. You do need a reservation. We have found more authentic restaurants by avoiding those with multiple language menus, and asking locals. There’s a great thread on CC about all things food and wine, that you may find useful.
  20. Lol! Even our DGD has to have truffle salt🤷‍♀️
