I was looking at their website because I have an upcoming cruise at Port Canaveral. I don't like the way they count days. My cruise begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday. That's a 4 night cruise and parking at the port would charge 4 days at whatever rate. This offsite lot wants to charge for 5 days even though it's just 4 24-hour periods/4 nights. And then they add a $7.50 Port Canaveral entry fee and sales tax. Yes, it's still cheaper than parking at the Port but not as much as it should be if they counted days the same way. I think I'll just park at the port.

Extremely Fast MSC Refund to Credit Card
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to Heartgrove's topic in MSC Cruises
It's been my experience that the length of time it takes before a MSC credit/refund posts to your account kind of depends where you are in your credit card billing cycle. Let's say your bill just dropped and you're due a refund. Because you're at the beginning of a new cycle, that credit could very well post before the next bill drops. But if you're near the end of a billing cycle, the next bill will drop without the credit because it's so soon but the credit should show up before the second (from then) bill drops. The important thing is to make sure that someone is actually working on issuing you a refund. -
Should you happen to have a NC Quick Pass, it is valid at all toll plazas in Florida marked E-PASS and SunPass. The two toll plazas on SR528 between Orlando International Airport and the Port are both E-PASS and both have cash lanes. Please note that once you cross into Brevard County (where Port Canaveral is located), there are no tolls anywhere.

What kind of items do you think might be out of stock? -
Just looked at the Daily Program from my 1.5 day/overnight visit to Ocean Cay last September. The casino opened at 1PM and the hours simply indicated "Open Late". However, elsewhere in the program it indicated "Slots Open All Night Long". So perhaps the table games ended at some point during the night but the slots stayed open.

Holiday Inn Express- 17th Street, Fort Laudedale?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to j3000's topic in Florida Departures
My recollection of that HIE is that there's not enough parking. This only impacts you if you have a car. Otherwise, the hotel is fine and is near so many things. -
Port Everglades to West Palm Beach Airport
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to Irish110's topic in Florida Departures
I'm sure you have your reasons to fly from PBI but that airport is "rarely" cheaper than flying from FLL which is adjacent Port Everglades. -
The Armonia is Cancelled for April 4th

Sounds like a mass-illegal emigration scheme. 70 people, all with fake visas? -
What MSC itineraries are on your to-do/bucket list?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to no1talks's topic in MSC Cruises
Holland America has some cruises that begin and end in Montreal, QC. That's VERY far inland. -
Uber - Orlando - Tampa and back again
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to AnitaVacation's topic in Florida Departures
If you're going to Tampa one day prior, consider AMTRAK which has 1X daily train from either Orlando Station or Kissimmee Station. Price is around $11 per person one way. I wouldn't chance it the same day as the cruise because the train is coming from Washington DC and could be running late. The Tampa Union Station is within walking distance to the cruise terminals and there are hotels in the area reachable by the TECO streetcar line. -
What MSC itineraries are on your to-do/bucket list?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to no1talks's topic in MSC Cruises
For those of you contemplating a cruise from Australia, usually overlooked is P&O Australia and their cruises to South Pacific nations. Please note when viewing their website that prices are in Australian Dollars and there is no tipping culture there. https://www.pocruises.com.au/ -
It's long enough to do a bar crawl.

What MSC itineraries are on your to-do/bucket list?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to no1talks's topic in MSC Cruises
I've done MSC in the Persian Gulf (from Dubai), MSC in the deep southern Caribbean (from Martinique), MSC in the Red Sea (from Jeddah) and MSC in the Baltic (from Kiel). Was not aware of the Canary Island itinerary described by the OP above so will need to read-up on that. -

Any new rumblings on sailing out of Tampa?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to PuraVida3000's topic in MSC Cruises
I was booked on Armonia when covid scrubbed their Tampa plans. Post-covid, they put a ship into Port Canaveral instead. Right now they seem to be focused on Galveston and apparently Los Angeles. Have heard nothing about Tampa. -
FLL vs MIA better for Int'l flight arrival?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to FengShui@Sea's topic in Florida Departures
FLL expanded their Customs & Immigration area around 10 years ago because Spirit was operating so many international arrivals there. And of course there is COPA. If your cruise is from Port Everglades, fly into FLL and save the hassle of getting there from MIA. -
There is a Hampton Inn by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton in Ybor City; there may be a third hotel that is non-branded. Ybor is definitely a nightlife destination but during midweek it will be rather quiet. It's full of bars, clubs and restaurants. Columbia Restaurant is at the far eastern end of the multi-block area. I stay there several times per year for the nightlife. Yes, it is a safe and viable option.

Can I make an 11:30 flight from MCO after cruise?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to Nickles_1's topic in Florida Departures
Yes, the speed limit is 65mph for most of it. 35 minutes. -
If you've never used the Uber/Lyft app and/or you're in a hurry to get to the airport, I'd skip the rideshare and just take a taxi. You have to wait for your rideshare driver to show up after you order it while taxis will be right there at the terminal exit and ready to go. Rideshares might be a few bucks cheaper but not by that much. IMO, take a taxi and GO!

Can I make an 11:30 flight from MCO after cruise?
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to Nickles_1's topic in Florida Departures
You can absolutely make an 11:30am flight, especially if you have TSA Pre. And the drive from Port Canaveral to MCO is only 35 minutes, not an hour. -
Can't check in due to photo requirement
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH replied to bluecontrolman's topic in MSC Cruises
During online check-in you should be able to skip the photo and credit card sections and still complete everything else. You can then generate your cruise docs once you're within the time window. Your photo(s) will be taken at the check-in desk in the cruise terminal and credit card input at a kiosk (or Reception desk) onboard. -
Before leaving on any international trip my wife or I announce "PASSPORT CHECK" and we each have to show each other our passports regardless of how many times we had recently looked at it.
