  1. We’ve done AK six times and I prefer the Jewel class ships for those itineraries. In terms of airfares, if you book two one way tickets it will be hard ther than booking an open jaw, which is more than a RT but in my experience it was not as hgh as the two one ways.
  2. They may occasionally help you out, but usually they are faaarrr too busy selling CN certificates to be of help to anybody but themselves, I have generally found them to be rude, egocentric weinies.
  3. The concierge service is a figment of NCLs imagination. It doesn’t exist for anyone outside of Haven or,Suites. Many years ago I did try it out and the concierge hung up on me. yes, there is a help, desk and they were quite helpful when my dining reservations all:disappeared for my upcoming,Prima, cruise.
  4. Okay, I do remember that now. Was too much to hope for, but it was worth a try. Thank you all.
  5. Ive not used transfers in quite a while so don’t know the answer to this. i believe I read on CC that the $50 FAS excursion credit could be used towards transfers. Is that true? thank you in advance. MB
  6. I misspoke here, it is the south western side of the island.
  7. If you have platinum or greater status they will usually get you one even in basic cabins. There is a limited supply of them, though so they prioritize their distribution. Best to ask very first time you meet your steward, or if he’s not around when you get to your hallway, call customer service and ask nicely.
  8. The volcanic activity is on the southeastern portion of Iceland, near the Blue Lagoon area. I saw yesterday that the Blue Lagoon has reopened. The ports of call you will have are on the northern shore and terminate in Reykjavik which is in the same geographic area but not close enough to be in danger. There may be a change in some shore excursions out of Reykjavik if the sysmic activity increases, but there is a lot to see from that area in several directions.
  9. It’s always such a treat to meet people who’ve your chatted online with for so many years.
  10. MSC has signed a letter of agreement with the port of Galveston and are looking to build a new terminal. It will be nice to have another option for our home port.
  11. I had all mt dining reservation vanish in December. Was able to get them back it took a call to the Diamond desk, or whatever it’s called, though.
  12. No, I didn’t. But thinking back, I don’t think it was charged on our last cruise, though. Maybe they dropped it, but I remember it because as they seated us they specifically asked if we were aware of the upcharge.
  13. ggTexasgal and I are meeting at 5;00 on embarkation day at the Whisky Bar. Joint us if you like. I’ll be wearing a shabby chic (more shabby than chic these days) white hat.
  14. I’m sure you know this, but if you use your NCL card for onboard expenses you get triple points, then use the points for statement credit. You’re leaving money on the table by using points for OBC. Just my thoughts. Looking forward to meeting you on this cruise.
  15. We cruise a lot and NCL is our choice of cruise lines, although we cruise CCL a lot due to casino free cabin offers. Our home port is Galveston, although we can drive to NOLA n seven hours. I was delighted whenNCL returned to Tx so we didn’t have to drive to NOLA. But the prices have risen significantly recently. In December we sailed the Regal Prince for half of what the Prima cost and we found the experience superior to NCL. We are Diamond on NcL and still had a superior experience at half the price, I enjoy the NCL experience and the perks that go with Diamond level, but honestly. Don’t see it being worth what we paid for and received on Princess. I am booked on three more NCL cruises abroad and use WP to upgrade from IN to BA but for Galveston cruises the prices are way better than NCL. It will take me a boatload of point to reach Ambassador but for the free cruise I can get that by saving up nmy WP points. My devotion yo NCL is waining a bit after experiencing another lines hospitality'. I’ve always been an NCL decree but lately I’m broadening my views.
  16. Can the credits from the card be applied to daily service charge/gratuities?
  17. If you check with NCL special needs department, you may be able to pre-order sterile after. Then you can use the hot water from a kettle, or possibly the tap to warm the bottle.
  18. Yu should be able to get a kettle without a problem. The kettle will work better than the single cup coffee makers.
  19. I’m not sure there would even be a mechanism for you to transfer the points because that is an internal thing that only specific agents can do as it gives them access to your credit card info. Well, if they wind up liking cruising and NCL, you can explain the program to them and help them understand the points game. Now,YOU have to figure out what to do with all those points! Spa day, bling, lovely wine and more specialty dining? What a delima to have 🤩
  20. I have six NCL cards three in my name as primary the others in DHs name and I transfer points all the time, and recently my DD and her husband each got cards and I combined their points for a double upgrade. i wonder if it has to do with whether or not you are an authorized user on the card. But as someone else said it’s very quick and easy to do online. I don’t think I’ve ever done it by phone since BOA took over the card. This is new to me. Did you try and do it online just to see if it would work? Let us know how it comes out.
  21. We spent several days in Reyjakvik after our cruise. To Iceland last year. We used Nice Travels and did three days of touring. The Golden Circle is beautiful, fascinating because of the way they use geothermal heat, if you can only do one tour I would recommend that. The area the volcano is currently threatening is in the GC, and has temporarily forced the shut down of the Blue Lagoon. Not sure if the other geothermal pools are open or not.and of course your cruise is sometime off so things can certainly be back to normal by then. in one of the Icelandic ports prior to Reykjavik we did a ships tour to a beautiful waterfall. It was beautiful and an amazing display of Mother Natures raw power. iceland is a beautiful place. We are booked to return there for a cruise and will spend several days prior to see the sites we couldn’t squeeze into our three day visit. enjoy!
  22. I believe they are Hamilton Beach. I cup flat pods (not K cups). The coffe is not bad, but I make my own with our favorite coffee
  23. Unless it’s changed recently, you can choose any specialty restaurant, but onthe BA,which has Oceans Blue there was a 12.50/pp charge for dining there.
