Seabourn newbies. Any insight will be appreciated
Huggsy replied to Fortunate 2 travel's topic in Seabourn Cruise Line
Do you know if you have to book this or put your name forward prior? I'm a newbie with my first cruise with Seabourn booked for next June. -
On Splendor we've done Superior (similar to Concierge) and last year treated ourselves to a PH. Sorry, not addressing your laundry door issue but FWIW can honestly say that didn't think the extra expense for the PH was justified. Not keen on the layout, the dividing wall makes the lounge look too narrow so creating a closed in and cluttered feeling. I do like a bath so l missed the bath tub. In Superior, loved the bed facing the balcony - would be my first choice.

On Splendor in a Superior suite we had L'Occitane, in Penthouse both L'Occitane and Guerlain were provided - small bottles

Complimentary wines - Seabourn Encore February 2022

Was that easy to obtain? Trying to get that on Regent sailings (in our experience) can be like getting blood out of a stone? -
Voyager disembarkment in Rome (Civitavecchia)

Absolutely -
Same here - I'll be very surprised if this goes ahead as planned and if the Holy Land is cancelled we'll give it a miss. Each to their own but an added Greek itinerary just doesn't appeal; been there, done that.

Or just hide until the coast is clear😂

After the announcement it went like this .... Me: "Do you want to?" Hubby: "No, I bloody well don't" Me: "Oh, go on, it'll be a laugh!" Hubby: "No!" A few minutes later, he said "Stick your head out the door - make sure they're gone" 😄
-
We were on Splendor in April of this year and there was indeed a Block Party. However, hubby refused point blank to join in so we were confined to our suite until it was 'safe' to venture out. 😄
-
I wouldn't even dream of doing it. Take the Windsor tour if offered.

Gratuities for shore excursion guides.

You're definitely not a cheapskate. Hubby and I do the same and we saw others do likewise. We also noted many not tipping at all. -
I'll take that😁
-
Same here, common sense obviously didn't occur to him. Thought I'd better keep myself nice otherwise I won't be allowed to board.
-
We boarded Splendor in April and I was asked the same thing. I'm several years older than you and thought not only was it a stupid question but impertinent too.
-
Yes, that's correct.

March 2025 through May 2026 Cruises released...

Nothing new or innovative to grab my attention on the Mediterranean sites - same old; same old - very disappointing in my opinion. -
Hairdryers on Seven Seas Splendor
Huggsy replied to OC Cruisers's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
I had my doubts and took my own but I didn't need to, theirs does the job - better than I thought. -
The checking in procedures having to be done at a different location to Fusina would seem to be a huge pain in the you know what. I just want to get on and get off or perhaps I'm not as hardy as some of you.

Superior suite on Splendour - small detail query

Yes, there is. -
Lost Casablanca. The day after final payment.
Huggsy replied to welshfamily's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Not long off Splendor - wish Casablanca had been cancelled from our itinerary, awful place and an extremely noisy port, couldn't wait to leave - just my thoughts. -
Don't laugh👍😆 Yes, I know it's a first world problem but just wondered, say compared to the large wicker chairs you get in the Superior suites.
-
Can anyone tell me what type of chairs and table is on a Splendor Veranda balcony - TIA
-
Most eloquently put - it's all about respect.

But they're more than happy to spend thousands on continuous mail outs of promotional offers and forthcoming itineraries which land on my door mat far too often (despite requests to cancel). I'd be more than happy with a basic wallet - cardboard if they like but just something that gives it a sense of occasion. I know this is discussed ad nauseum but it really grates. Rant over.
