  1. We’ve done this sailing on the Solstice a few times and love the ship. We always enjoyed the anytime dining and you can reserve online for a particular time if you like. Also enjoy the true balconies on the S class ships vs the so called infinite balconies. I was on the Edge in 2020 and did enjoy the ship but not our infinite balconies room. If I did go again, I would have to book a sunset veranda to get a true balcony.
  2. Happy New Year!! I’m looking forward to following along with you on another World Cruise. Have a wonderful time!!
  3. I really enjoyed following along with you on your 2023 World cruise. Looking forward to this one. You’re a wealth of information on the visas and planning. Have a wonderful cruise!!!
  4. I really enjoyed following along on your adventure last January. Your Australia and New Zealand route this year looks fabulous. You’re covering a lot of ground. Would love to do this one someday. Enjoy!!
  5. I just went through US customs in Toronto on Dec 1 with my Nexus card for the first time in 3 years. I was surprised that when I stepped up to the Nexus machine, they just snapped a picture and that was it. Spoke to a customs agent for a minute and exited the area. Once I went through the exit, I noticed a lot of people sitting in an area waiting for the Nexus interview. I would think you would need a lot of lead time to have the interview and get to your gate.
  6. Thank you for taking the time to post your latest adventure. I loved reading all of your posts and seeing your pictures. Safe travels back to Norway.
  7. I love your reviews Jim and am looking forward to your partial World cruise. Have a fabulous trip with Iain and your friends. Safe travels…
  8. Thanks for the info. I hated those iris scans as it was so finicky. You had to keep adjusting it. I remember using my fingerprints on the scan as well. Looking forward to my trip in a couple of weeks. It’s been too long.
  9. I haven’t travelled since 2020 so was wondering if there are any changes with the Nexus machines in YYZ. It seemed they were always down or not working at times. My friend travelling with me doesn’t have Nexus so she’ll be going through the regular line. Will be travelling in a couple of weeks.
  10. I’m really enjoying your posts. Loved Taormina as it was lovely there just to walk around. Was wondering how you like your Infinite Verandah? Would love to get your thoughts on it.
  11. Am following along with you as well. Always enjoy reading your live posts and will be interested to see if you enjoy the infinite Verandah. I was on the Edge in 2020 and was not a big fan. Enjoy your cruise…
  12. Personally, I would definitely go ahead with the final payment. Australia and New Zealand are fabulous countries to visit and safe from all of the problems going on in the Middle East. My last cruise was in Feb 2020 and I’ve been itching to cruise again. Unfortunately, my husband is waiting for a hip replacement and my girlfriends don’t seem too interested right now in Caribbean cruising. I will be travelling somewhere soon though, Waikiki, with a girlfriend so I’m a happy camper. Take that cruise….you won’t be disappointed…
  13. No, we haven’t used it recently. I think our last visit was in 2019 as well. Too bad it’s closed…
  14. We had rented a car from Hertz at the King Kamehameha Hotel right by the pier. It was so convenient. Call Hertz and check it out.
  15. Love your pictures Jim. How is the food onboard as you haven’t mentioned any meals you’ve had so far. Enjoy the rest of your cruise…
  16. Looking forward to following along with you and Iain on this new adventure. It’s a lovely itinerary. I’m sure you’ll be getting your 20,000 steps in while in port instead of walking around the ship due to its size. Have a fabulous trip!! I always enjoy your reviews… Mary Lynn
  17. We did a Celebrity cruise from Vancouver to Yokohama with a stop in Sitka in early Sept 2019. It was sunny and warm in Sitka so we had our shorts on. Onboard we wore our shorts during the day as well. Once we arrived in Otaru, Hakodate and Yokohama we still had our shorts on with a light jacket. I had packed capris, jeans, and light jacket. Keep checking the weather to see what those temps will be. Enjoy your trip…we loved Japan and look forward to returning.
  18. Thanks so much Ken for your live posts. Really enjoyed following along. We also did the same tour enroute to the airport. Loved it and would highly recommend doing this. Will look for your Oct trip.
  19. Just caught up with all of your posts. Love following along with you as we did a Transpacific from Vancouver to Yokohama in 2019. We loved it and want to definitely return. Looking forward to more of your posts. Beautiful sunrise photos. Enjoy!!
  20. Thanks for your reply. The US agency in New Hampshire that I had booked with 4 yrs ago only showed prices in USD not CAD. I realize the cruise lines will accept both but would the group rates apply.
  21. I know we can’t mention any TA’s on here but was wondering if anyone has gotten Canadian pricing from the NH company. I have used them in the past but only in US dollars. Difficult to reach them to ask so thought someone out there can shed some light.
  22. We’ve been staying at the Ilikai the last few years and love the studio Apts there. It is right beside the Hilton Hawaiian that you are looking at. The prices are more reasonable at the Ilikai. We book it through Waikiki Beach rentals and have had no issues at all. They have the largest balconies, huge heated pool and they are oceanview units. Check it out.
  23. Thanks so much for your fabulous review. I loved following along with you and your Mom. It brings back wonderful memories of when I cruised with my Mom in 2017 when she was 87. She’ll be 94 in August. Looking forward to following you and your hubby on your next adventure.
  24. Ken, thanks so much for your review. I loved following along on your NCL Jade trip and now this one. Will look for your Japan trip in July. Safe travels home.
  25. I have a friend on the Westerdam on the Transpacific which left April 24 from Japan heading to Kodiak, Alaska. They are having storms every day, gusts of 80km per hr and she said 40’ waves. Very wild ride for those passengers.
