  1. If there is a line already for MTD this is just plain RUDE and smacks of entitlement. While I agree they are trying to Seat MTD as soon as tables become available in my recent experience, jumping any line is uncalled for. If your there before the line forms that is different.
  2. Royal's official documentation states "dinner" if you are able to get more, consider it a un-entitled bonus
  3. Can't order from the MDR via the TV, You or the Concierge have to call. Also note you can only order Dinner from the MDR menu, any other time is from the standard room service menu. (not to say some have had other luck, but that is not the standard unless Star Class)
  4. Must be the times I cruise, as I have only had available a Military discount 1 out of 40+ cruises
  5. unique problem with large internet travel agencies.
  6. that has always been my experience b3b in may of 2023
  7. looks like the lawsuit is back on according to Matt over a Royal Caribbean Blog
  8. looks like they did and some Judge said OK https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/07/11/court-allows-toddler-dropped-through-cruise-ship-window-lawsuit-resume
  9. Looks like the Landscape and Horticulture staff of Gelashe, Mark and Neil have been busy the last couple weeks.
  10. The other "holiday" that I am aware of that that has an up charge for meals at some specialty restaurants is Valentines Day.
  11. Until you hit a port that is actually checking and enforcing your set sail pass times, like Galveston did in May of this year
  12. the initial page to any invoice i get after it is applied looks like this
  13. yes just had that similar quick response from my TA who is on a cruise right now. emailed her yesterday afternoon about 4 pm asking about possible group rates she had for some specific dates, email with info return by 6:36 pm. of course I had quick checking email for the evening already. This morning I checked email at 0755 and made a decision, emailed back. Invoice in my email by 0918. I'd say that is the same great response I always get from my TA. My understanding is that group rates is the TA or their overarching company agrees to take so many cabins of a certain category for a reduced rate to fill by a certain date. If they don't fill what they are committing to, the next time their discount is not as deep. Because they can turn back over unsold cabins on that certain date, in essence they are considered refundable by the cruise line. . (layman's terms but I think the basic principle it true). Using group rates for GS+ my provide a discount but they are also Non-refundable.
  14. Everything you say is correct. Just like on the pool deck on a Sea day if you come out at 11am or 1pm it sure appears like its crowded. - Come out at 9:30 and there are still good spots to be found.
  15. Beer and Wine at lunch always, depending on the particular ship I have been able to get a Mimosa at breakfast also Drinks always at evening Dinner
  16. I don't have a problem with Bahama's raising their port tax per cruiser, I just worry about how RCCL or any other line is going to cover the increase for this that have already booked out into 2025
  17. sometimes, but to be honest real deals are not that easy to find and items that are on sale may not be of interest to you. Personally, given the current situation with cruises selling out and the high current earnings I would not expect to find any "Real" deals this coming Black Friday
  18. Yes Oasis Class ships have tons of free food. None of which compare to the popularity or quality of Guy's and Blue Iguana. More importantly Oasis Class ships venue hours don't consider well with the lunch crowd, example the Dog house and Loco Fresh don't open till after 1pm making them inconvenient for lunch hours 11 to 1. I'm Pinnacle on RCCL so obviously I like sailing them, and have sailed all 5 of the "oasis" ships in last 10 months, just pointing out the this is one area that Carnival actually does better than RCCL. JMHO
  19. Yes RCCL Loyalty program is much better especially if you're normally break even drink package person. Even in the other aspects I doubt anyone can legitimately argue that RCCL is not "the best loyalty package at sea" by far. But Both lines excel in some areas over the other. Also when reading review you need to notice the information that is very crew specific and can change from not only ship to ship but "A" or "B" crew. Examples of this were the OP's comment's like seeing the Captain out and about, have nothing to do with the cruise line but are very specific to that particular Captain. The same as activity staff is very dependent on the CD (cruise director). Carnival definitely does Comedy Club and Piano Bar better, Also the Free extra food places like Guy's Burger and Blue Iguana Cantina blow RCL away. Additional mention deserved for the Alchemy Bar. RCL defiantly takes the prize for Broadway, Production, and use of new technology for shows as well as better adult pool area. Bigger and more modern ships (although Carnival has been coming along in the last 5 years) If you looking for an Amusment Park at Sea, Royal can't be beat. Either line if you love to cruise you can have a good time.
  20. That picture is very old even a few years prior to Covid. Only one report on one ship one week only since restart, can't remember that price, offered afternoon on day 6 of a 7 day cruise, so 2 nights to use. Even before covid it was rarely avaliable then only on the last 2 days. Thinking that the appeal seems to be those that imbibe in few drinks, it breaks down to doing 5 drinks a day for those 2 days. So for a couple it might work but generally requires you to drink more than you normally would. Which is the point as it is offered when ship didn't meet the revenue goal that sailing.
  21. In my state when they banned indoor smoking , the bars clamored for an exemption claiming they would go out of business. Bottom line NO bars went out of business. All our casino are smoke free on land here. Still thriving. The hard core gamblers would soon adapt, they don't want to pass up the free cruises.
  22. You take you luggage with you, but they will let you on one of the busses to the airport which will stop at the other terminal on the way out or on the way back from the airport. Check with the LA when you board the first cruise they will be able to help you with the logistics
  23. @luvs2cruzga glad this is all worked out, just FYI for others reading this thread. The following should be on your "Booking Confirmation - Guest Copy" for a suite Guarantee Stateroom: WS-GTY Stateroom Obstructed View Percentage Pending
