  1. They will Write the ship name and sailing number on it.
  2. That is the Goal of Mass Market cruise lines. Make the Ship and there Private Islands the destination. That way all profits stay in house.
  3. My experience with Early Traditional seating times on all cruises since May 2022 has been if your assigned Deck 3 where they will be doing MTD after early traditional, the have been scheduling you 15 to 30 minutes earlier that those on decks 4&5. They have also begun seating MTD dinners as soon as tables are cleared and ready, well before 6:45. See them waiting there when I leave after my 45 minute meal.
  4. Believe you want a refundable deposit for this cruise, Ask your TA about the price for that
  5. Most are not taking into account the Port of Galveston new lots at Terminal 10's new pricing (which rivals Miami & Bayonne now) has allowed the once competitive private lots to also raise their prices to match, well almost match, they are all slightly cheaper than the Port. You can blame some on inflation, but 40-50 increase that I am seeing for next year compared to last month rate, reserved in spring, is All on Galveston Wharves pricing structure
  6. @kelkel2 when I drive that route, I stay on I-55S to I-40W. At Little Rock use I-440 to skirt the south side. Then I-30W to US-59S at Texarkana. US-59 is 4 lane and is the I-69 corridor as that is what it becomes north of Dallas. This may add 50 miles overall but I think the increased speed of more limited access hwy make up for the miles. JMHO
  7. Hey now I resent, I mean represent that remark, re-runs I tell you re-runs.
  8. As someone who stays in a suite and loves Barefoot Beach, I have no problem sharing it with someone that is willing to pay those cabana prices. I believe there are only 8 or 10 Cabanas that have access to the area and the last time I was there, in February they were a hefty charge and only half occupied.
  9. I can't help but agree Totally. As someone that watches most of my TV shows via DVR and fast forwards through commercials, i only quickly go back to catch when it shows and relied mostly on the name to spur interest, and find the premiere date. Like most who commented here I was sorely disappointed to find another Very Bad example of Reality TV. Glad to see it had dismal ratings. Now a good remake of the original sitcom I would have been up for, as it is that recording got less than 10 minutes before we hit "Series Delete"
  10. looks like NCL will sail out of Terminal 2 (the only other option would be #1)
  11. @Saint Greghas a very good review, and always lots of good info about NOLA cruising. But I have parked at Fulton once, the first time I cruised from NOLA, I did not like it for the following reasons, old and dirty facility, the elevator is very small and slow (the available steps are very narrow). At embarkation there was quite a wait for the shuttle as you had to wait on returning passengers to have there luggage unloaded, then you load up or maybe that one fills and you wait on the next one. Even worse when 2 ships are there, Personally, I always have a bit of a drive up I-55 so I want to not only get off the ship, but also get on the road. An hour or 2 make a big difference to what time I get home that night. I have since used the Erato St garage twice and the Julia St lot once, For myself the convenience, especially of the garage and the ability of getting on the road made them worth the price difference. I do understand the pain of 30% more over a b2b might have me consider other options also.
  12. We have stayed here twice, new in about 2017 or so, nice property, just not a lot of good food options in the area in our opinion. Easy drive to port next morning. I'll stay there again though when driving down On I-55
  13. I am at the Residence Inn in that cluster. The Marriot, Courtyard and Residence Inn are with in a walled gated compound togeather and share pool. Very nice at all of them, modern. Free shuttle from airport (shared). Great Cuban resturants with in walking distance no more that .8 miles. Recomend "Latain Cafe" on 42nd st. Many locals, great food, reasonable price. Won't know for sure till tomorrow but Uber shows $15 to port.
  14. Even if it is 1000 per day IT IS WITH Covid NOT because of Covid, most have other more serious conditions that caused their death.
  15. I've done more than 3 twice now, both time I've been told it would not be a problem, they just have to get permission (I think they said shoreside) but it only to them a few minutes to obtain that permission. Just my experience
  16. One of the guests in the GS gives room number and then says table for 4. OP should just be prepared for more questions and if access for all 4 is denyed, be graceful. Oh sorry I didn't know that a Jr Suite couldn't have lunch with us.
  17. Absolutly NO pros to keeping the TIP culture the USA. But the only way to get it changed is to remove the archic and redicoulus USA Bureau of Labor's Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) rules for tipped employees that allows for them to be paid as low as ($2.13/hour) which is much much lower than minimum wage and then make the customer make up the rest. Yes if Tips don't bring that up to minimum wage the employeer has to kick in, but it still put the onus on the customer. USA only civilized country that does this!
  18. So it could have just been a one time delay or ? Not always on the Dot at 00:01. sometimes it is even later than your 30 minutes.
  19. Who's self reporting??? Vrs who's going to just ride out in their cabin for a day or 2????
  20. Just like my advice to a new cruiser who asks should I eat in the MDR or buy an UDP for specialty restaurants. For someone in a full suite who has never had access to CK, I say eat your meals in CK this cruise, that way you now have a baseline that you can use to make an informed decision the next time you stay in a suite with CK access. Definatly agree with @twangster "food is personal that will vary for each guest." and both food quality and preparation can and will vary ship to ship. I personally will not spend money on a UDP when I have CK access, I'll save that for when I'm not sailing in a suite. JMHO
  21. It has been a few years now, but have stayed there. It is off to the right just as you come into the island. At that time was a typical Springhill stay nothing special nor at that time anything disappointing. Do not remember any places to eat within walking distance.
  22. This is the problem with America these days. No one can just take a humorous comment (and that one was) as what it was meant to be, funny. They have to feel they were offended or slighted. Jokes are jokes that's what they we meant to be. Funny
  23. the only problem with the Oasis Class ships sailing out of Galveston is it is the exact same itinerary every single cruise. At least now it changes a little each week
  24. All the more reason to use a good Travel Agent.
  25. You really have to wait until you get on the ship to find out how they do it. Royal seems to give quite a bit of leniency to their management staff, so what you find on one ship may be different than how it is handled on another ship.
