  1. Viking has a policy of full payment in at least nine (9) months before sailing in any cabin... bon voyage
  2. drc - I vote for X going all vegan!!! LOL What a revolt on-board that would be.... bon appetit and bon voyage
  3. Well b color me envious... If I see on The Reflection (WCB will be third stop LOL), and have them hide it for me!!! Cheers and bon voyage
  4. You may want to check to see if Sam's Club has a pharmacy. That may be the only "safe" option, I would consider. In health and bon voyage
  5. rc - in an earlier time, space and place I could readily endorse your approach and thought on this, in fact I do now, yet most of us who 'choose' to do SD do so with the full knowledge that we have paid for the MDR and OVC and other venues which have no additional charge(s) to use. As such, it is not about the money, to a great degree, it is about wanting to do something different on a particular night and do not mind the additional $$'s as we may have NROBC to burn, as such it becomes even more worth it. Especially in a space that we may enjoy, along with the food. If no, OBC and we want to do it, we do it... bon appetit and bon voyage
  6. To be sure, we have never found the dining venues to lack 'personalized service' no matter where or with whom we sat each evening. Although, we were sat with the same crew consistently. It may be ones' own comfort level in knowing the staff who will take care of you nightly, but not to worry, if they are near to your table they will pass on the word in addition to your requests... How do I know? On our Alaskan sailing a few years back, one of the servers told me that I was known as the "free style vegan" so every one knew not to ask what I wanted for the next night's dinner... LOL Something different from that and the previous evening, Chef's choice... Once you let the Maître d' know, they will pass on your requirements and needs, BUT it does not hurt to let them know at table side... if a different set of servers in your section. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to see the next evening's menu so you can select your desired meal in advance and customize it, which should follow you to which ever dining venue you happen to be sitting in... bon appetit and bon voyage
  7. Thank you JI... I plan to do this as a surprize to our group... A few of whom are first time passengers and first time on X for a few.... Then there are the long time group and they would be very blown away by the dining venue as opposed to our usual dining in the main, as it were... LOL Thank you buddy and how is trip going so far??? bon voyage
  8. I believe you are in direct reference to JD Old No. 7, correct? There are other flavours of JD which are "considered" 'Premium' and cost as such. I Am taking a JD tasting on our sailing in a few months and will see what is actually on offer... Cheers and bon voyage
  9. Hello all, my question is: Party of 13 on The Reflection in September, is it possible to book Murano's Wine Cellar for our dinner on one (1) night, if not booked for a special dinner? Or is this a Maître d' question upon boarding??? TIA, Cheers, bon appetit and bon voyage
  10. Presumably at no additional charge... bon appetit and bon voyage
  11. You are quite correct nag, if lobster type is important, then again it has been decades since I have had lobster, then again it was in New England, I have no point of reference for its' taste at this juncture.... I can appreciate that others do and if it is the "luxury" of lobster taste and presentation and fees which are the decision points, I say go for RCI, forks down... LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  12. Steak restaurant on Edge Class ships... bon appetit and bon voyage
  13. Okay nag, you win on this one, yet for those who sail in lower categories i.e. veranda's and the like, for the first time or more quite a few would not know about the fee before boarding and upon opening the menu... Yet that does not mean there is not value to those who choose to order from the menu anytime of the day or evening... OR go to the OVC if it is an issue. Just my thoughts... bon appetit and bon voyage
  14. I fully understand, as it has happened to me and a few others around here... especially during a great sale... bon voyage
  15. Actually, I believe that RCL makes it a policy for each line under its' wing have different policies on a wide array of things... This makes them stand out from each other... bon voyage
  16. Sorry no one has explained to you that there are a limited number of packages available... When available, book it do not tarry, otherwise one risks losing out. As such, it is not bait and switch for delaying the purchase... bon appetit and bon voyage
  17. It took me less than 17 minutes to get CC... to make changes. I Am sure that if it took me 1.5 hours to get through to save $475, I would do it in a heart beat.... Each of us have our levels of tolerance for waiting, especially during high call volume periods. bon voyage
  18. IME - there has been only three (3) Pastry Chef's in the fleet who would even attempt doing vegan pastries and desserts on a daily basis, the others would be a flat out no and only provide fruit or sorbet... But, no worries those Chef's who would provide desserts really complimented my meals... on one sailing the PC sent pastries daily to Al Bacio for me and that was a treat until the general public found out about it and got them before I did... LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  19. What is the reason to wait so long??? LOL bon voyage
  20. So funny, to be sure... Yet, we are not in the Retreat due to costs, yet we find the veranda's and service throughout the ship to be mostly very good... Over the years the issues have been minimal, to be sure. I do appreciate your perspective, regardless... bon voyage
  21. There are a few of us here on CC that understand "upset" over removal of favourite desserts from the menu, yet for those of us who cannot have dairy, gluten or other such we wish that something that would be of benefit to us would replace those items... As currently, there are next to no options... bon appetit and bon voyage
  22. kd - from the post I can only surmize that you have yet to sail in AQ. Be that as it may, you will find that for some, AQ is the way to go AND if the pricing is the same or better either you or your TA need to call X to figure out how to snatch up the deal... Have you read the description of AQ cabins and their amenities, yet? For us, it would be a no brainer to make the change despite any possible deposit loss/adjustment were the pricing the same or better than a verandah. In the end, it is up to you with some salient input, as to if is worth it or not for you... Good luck and bon voyage
  23. One can always ask for either of those desserts each day if they do not appear on the menu and one evening you may be surprized that it magically appears.... So not to fret if not on the menu.... bon appetit and bon voyage
  24. I Am vegan and in all of my sailings, only twice was there a foul up and they were rectified immediately. You or your TA will want to alert X to any food allergies, that way when you visit the Maitre d' upon boarding verify they have been alerted and they will help you select meals which are friendly.... bon appetit and bon voyage
