  1. ea - only if you say 'please'!!! LOL Plus, have it with a nice chianti... bon appetit and bon voyage
  2. For those who eat that monstrosity, which I have from time to non-existent time... as opposed to having a bun with just lettuce, tomato and pickles to get by... bon appetit and bon voyage
  3. LOL, Us vegans are not 'usually' screaming about changes in the MDR or OVC as we know who to ask for upgrades or changes in our meals, all without up-charges at that... bon appetit and bon voyage!!!
  4. Maybe it is the CFAR rider which makes it 'not good', in terms of pricing??? bon voyage
  5. Could not this verification be done upon your next sailing, if it is really important to know??? bon appetit and bon voyage
  6. For a question like this, an internet search and asking on-board your next sailing can be your best friends... I must caution that ANY internet results must be viewed with caution and researched further to be sure the value can be delivered... and if that value is good for you. Keep in mind that 'bargains' can be had and are delivered daily, for many of us... bon voyage
  7. pb is that how you have done it??? LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  8. Is this on X??? I hope so, as I really, really, really enjoy his commentary and photos... He ranks in the top seven or eight who post here, with vivid and clear writing... I trust he will see this and let us know his status... aboard.. bon voyage
  9. Personally, I would recommend that you consider upgrading before boarding with the discount in your CP OR pending when you are sailing, there could be a sale before you leave. Expecting a discount on-board could be chancing it, as I have not encountered that before. Cheers and bon voyage
  10. It sounds to me that what the OP is wanting to do will not be the most 'economical' OR cheaper in the long run... I can suggest that they consider using miles one-way and using cruise line air the other, which MAY result in reducing their total cost and providing the non-stop routing, USA-EU-USA, desired. MMV though... In our case, we are taking a similar sailing this September and were able to get a non-stop EWR-BCN and the return is FCO-LHR-EWR. While we wanted a FCO-EWR non-stop flight, the pricing was more than what we wanted to pay and figured if our luggage did not make the tight LHR-EWR connection, no big deal as we would be 'home' as it were... The OP needs to take the time to figure out all of the combinations/permutations financially, of what they want to do and decide if it is worth it. Also, not knowing when they are actually traveling, it really is impossible to tell what the points will be for the flight over and what the $$ cost to return as those flights may not be posted yet AND can change in terms of points needed, too. Better to make those decisions earlier than later, as for the same flights we are taking this year have doubled +. Book refundable, if pricing goes down, you will be in a better position to take advantage of that, even on the points portion. Good luck and bon voyage
  11. I have always had great vegan options on X... As for "protein", when I wanted to bulk up on it, I would request a rice and beans side dish or something with tofu at dinner for that extra boost. Often times the Chef would surprise me with a special Indian or Asian dish, which overall, had lots of protein but not the type that many would associate with being normal... LOL While I have not been quite a fan of the new 'analogue' meats, I think it is a great way to start people to move from the real thing to being vegan for health reasons only!!! But that be as it may, X has always been great for those of us with different eating lifestyles, rather that be readily available or by request in the OVC or MDR... bon appetit and bon voyage
  12. And please, never hesitate to call TIS with any questions, concerns or other such... bon voyage
  13. Quite possibly, once you have made final payment, having a great sailing!!! p.s. I recommend that you read the policy in full before the sailing.... that way you will know exactly what the policy does and does not cover. Especially if you are happy with the quote and sailing you are taking... bon voyage
  14. g115 please see post #3... It is not an IT error... the OP's omission of pertinent information. bon voyage
  15. pr thank you very much, I could not see "the fine print" yet could only respond based on what was shown... Goes to show that the 'fine details' make a difference, as well... bon voyage
  16. Have you done the math to determine if in fact that there is a savings of $200 - $800 is accurate for this sailing??? Without knowing length and etc., it is difficult for anyone to know 'definitely' how "insane" the pricing is. On its' face, yes you are correct there appears to be a wide spread, yet without having additional information, I for one, cannot comment on the sanity or lack thereof in this pricing... bon voyage
  17. If you have read the description of the package(s), it is throughout the ship with the exception of ones cabin... Smoothies are not included except on the PBP. No charge unless a beverage not on the package. Welcome, cheers and bon voyage
  18. You can do this online through your CP, Plan your cruise and you will see the options there... Cheers and bon voyage
  19. Of course you can use OBC (any type) for gratuities, that is if you do not have an AI package and are being charged them daily to your on-board account. As for port charges and taxes, I have not known anyone to be able to do that, BUT if you used an X gift card at time of your reservation, pending on the amount accepted by X, it will cover some if not all of your port charges and/or taxes. The caveat is at initial deposit/reservation. bon voyage
  20. n - that is not sad, but can be a good thing for you... You may discover something better or determine your experience may be a one off and/or another line suits your desires at this point... Enjoy your sailing and let us know how you enjoyed it... bon voyage
  21. Well, cw2, I have not gotten there yet... maybe soon??? LOL Not envious, yet!!! bon voyage
  22. 3c My spouse does this well, it is to be sure I can handle the two (2) 32" pieces of luggage we take... and I do! LOL Over the last few years I have been using porters and private transportation services more to accommodate... LOL Thanks and bon voyage
  23. Thanks all, from my experience, many of us who post here on CC do not realize that there are many other helpful forums that go a long way to support our cruise vacations... with some great info and input provided by professional/experienced cruisers... Once I started looking around CC and found other forums it became part of my routine to find out what else I might be missing in terms of cruising... Thank you for sharing, hopefully others who read this thread will take a gander as to what else CC has to offer in terms of good info that help us make good informed decisions... The insurance forum is one of many, for sure, that have supportive and experienced posters just like here on X's forum. bon voyage
  24. Perchance, did your friends have travel insurance to help with purchases of new clothing? While I must admit that it has been decades since having had luggage lost, would it not be possible that the airline would have called to say that the luggage had arrived and pending on where you and friends were on tours could arrange to have delivered upon return or gone to the airport at next earliest convenience to retrieve??? Frustrating? Yes! Hopefully, soon, everything will be back on track and you all can proceed to enjoy the rest of your vacation. IMO, no need to be grounded just go for it and enjoy the pre-cruise vacation as much as possible, luggage should appear within a few days. I will presume you or they are not in your teens, 20's or 30's and just going with the flow is not totally comfortable for you or them. I trust the luggage will appear before your ship sails... make the best of it as this can happen to any of us, especially when there is a quick air equipment and routing change. Generally, for us, it is much better to be on our way/close to the port/sailing instead of being stuck at the originating airport trying to get out to get to the port.... luggage or not. Hopefully in a few years you and your friends can look back on this experience and laugh at how you coped or not... bon voyage
