  1. Well, a very good option for you is to cancel the original booking and re-book with your "small time (non threatening) TA. I Am sure your TA would be more than happy to help you do that... Trauma healed, but not the drama, I guess... bon voyage
  2. Yes, then on the reverse many of us want to get the cheapest fare and AI possible... (tooth and nail) LOL bon voyage
  3. Well, that calls for a chair!!! LOL bon voyage
  4. I would be sailing solo and then would need to find a new domicile if I do that.... LOL bon voyage
  5. I would like to point out that for the form letters being received, in such cases and situations where there are massive mail ins about a particular topic, there is no way they can or will provide individual responses to each email. The best thing which can be done is a 'pro-forma' email acknowledging the issue that was written in about and a few facts... Otherwise, the 'unique' situations which require immediate attention would fall by the wayside, yet those of us who wrote in about this issue/policy/test, will get our emails noted and tallied as input for the final decision. IMO that is the goal, the numbers of passengers who wish to not have this expanded beyond the smoking areas. bon voyage
  6. How I would have enjoyed that!!! Too bad that type of environment is too difficult to reproduce today... bon voyage
  7. LOL, were I to do that, then I would have missed dinner that night with friends... and a few not too happy were I to punt it that way... That could have been an option for sure, in OVC... LOL even without changing... bon appetit and bon voyage
  8. ... or maybe you were over served at the bar that it would not be noticed??? LOL I trust you are enjoying the sailing despite this annoyance... bon voyage
  9. To be sure posting on a 'public forum' does invite comments (acceptable or not by OP's or others). Sometimes we like the support or responding post, sometimes we do not. IME many responding posts are meant to be constructive and critical but not nasty even though they may read as such. When we do not want any response to any of our posts, then we need to consider not posting... Given the series of events and potential for missing your sailing, it is good that you made it... and I surmise a good sailing as well. bon voyage
  10. kp go ahead and blame it on the cocktails... we all understand, for sure!!! LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  11. woyh as at check-in or GS, someone may have cancelled or missed the boat! LOL No cigar smoking??? Heck, what will I ever do with my smoking jacket and desire for a nice port or Armagnac after dinner???? LOL Enjoy your birthday sailing regardless and I look forward to hearing how it went.. bon voyage
  12. LOL, I have tried that with suit jacket and tie... Maître d' smiled and asked that I change... of course I obliged... bon appetit and bon voyage
  13. Okay, dw7 I do understand the challenge with the commentary... yes, some of us can be harsh about what we think is appropriate or not. IMO, if you take what you read on this or any other social media platform as the overarching personality of the ship, cruise line or passengers aboard, you will not have many places to sail... Yes, a few of us are very vocal, then again you will find that less than 2% of the passengers aboard may have heard of CC and even fewer have ever graced these pages. As I said before, I Am not going anywhere, quickly, from X... I Am sure you are and will be very respectful of others aboard, please remember that many of us have experienced the vast majority of smokers and vapers who are not and do not care... This is where we are coming from and trying to prevent as there is no way to distinguish the thoughtful vaper vs the selfish one... I would dare to go so far as to say that all who are against vaping are only against it in the casino, which leaves the two (2) areas on X's ships where it can take place. Please know that the responses are not personal and directed to you or vapers in the least bit, as opposed to the activity in heavily used public spaces. In health and bon voyage
  14. br - I Am not in a 'quick' position to change cruise lines as my spouse loves X and too heck with their policies... So, I cannot jump ship so quickly BUT I can rally against policies which make it uncomfortable for me to be there... Besides no other line really sounds appealing in terms of passengers to us... besides, most of the staff know us when we board... LOL I try to be incognito, but then there is that one issue which reeks of seeking out the Hotel Director or F&B Director and viola, major issues are rectified in those areas... In health and bon voyage
  15. dw7 - I recommend that you not worry about that "sinking feeling" as you will thoroughly enjoy your sailing despite these few issues... Many of us here, understand that currently, vaping is confined to the casino, yet we want to get it contained before it gets out of hand to other venues aboard... (we all know someone who is all about them and what they want because Mgmt said it was okay in one place, why not others???) Since it is currently "confined" to the casino, it is paramount to stop it as it could go further if the test is successful... for me, it is a goal to make it not successful as I do go into the casino at least daily for 30 - 45 minutes especially after the shows are over... Of all the battles I did not participate in, this one I Am and have... In health and bon voyage
  16. Actually, I find it refreshing to be able to "do my best" to influence a decision that I consider to be in my best interest in my cruise line of choice and love despite some setbacks and changes in policy, no matter how temporary... Considering some of the other 'issues' batted around CC, this one is worthy of spending time on, IMO... In health and bon voyage
  17. My suggestion is, as the five (5) boys on our group sailing did, the parents prepared them for the pants issue and let them pick out which two (2) pairs they wanted to wear for dinner and dinner only and afterwards allowed them to go change back into shorts... After day three (3) they did not want to change clothes vs getting back to Camp to play with their friends... as such it became a non-issue even if some of the others were wearing shorts... I do apologize for mistaking your post for another, as it was just posted in this forum no less than three (3) days ago... My apologies again. bon appetit and bon voyage
  18. No, I have yet to see kids on The Summit wear shorts of any kind in the MDR, that is for dinner service. YMMV - try it as someone else responded on another thread you posted this 'issue' to, but be prepared to have them change into long pants, if requested to do so or stand there and argue about "how nice" those shorts are. bon voyage
  19. Regularly there are posts about this type of issue... Resolution: call to confirm there is no outstanding balance and if possible have the CSA send an invoice verifying as such. bon voyage
  20. Well, we have our moments, to be sure.... This question is not really a third (3rd) rail!!! LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  21. For those who are thinking or are about to send an email off about this, personalize X as being a part of you... In my subject line I put: Vaping is not being permitted inside our ships??? Making it appear that I have ownership and a vested interest in the issue and policy that I want them to scrutinize closely and change. In health and bon voyage
  22. A vapers feelings vs My requirements are definitely two (2) different things... I would think in this case My requirements will win out... every time!!! Nothing against the vaper, personally, just the action... In health and bon voyage
  23. Fortunately the drink menu is a bit extensive as such trying to tell you which drinks are included in the beverage package is not practical and most CSA's would not know anyway... You can go here to find recent photos of drink menus on X here ... this is not to say that items may move from one list to another before your sailing OR be dropped due to supply issues and etc.... Cheers and bon voyage
  24. Another action some of us can take is to go sit at a table where a vaper is sitting, put down some big money and at the last minute pull the bet and move away... When asked about it, I would say that "vaping" bothers me so I decided not to play.... bon voyage
  25. I usually do not email them until I experience it first hand, yet with the photo and first hand experience of Abby, I was compelled to do so immediately... bon voyage
