  1. dm - actually, my comment was for you to win.... bon appetit and bon voyage
  2. Not for some of us who like a change in eating venues!!! LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  3. That would be a time to get to know the Manager where you wish to sit and eat... become their best friend on your sailing and voila, good things will happen for you... bon appetit and bon voyage
  4. Thank you, thank you and a few of us believe we do get the best/good price/value for our sailings... I do understand and appreciate that you do not believe likewise and are moving to another line for pricing and value.... bon voyage
  5. ... as that might cause a near riot??? LOL I understand... Cheers and bon voyage
  6. Actually, it was an attempt at bad political humour.... bon voyage
  7. ji - I was thinking along the same lines, yet one has to understand financial statements and reports and where to find them to understand... It is not only about the investors, but about the survival of the company. But then... bon voyage
  8. c - have a good boarding!!!! bon appetit and bon voyage
  9. h33 the days of X responding to posts here on CC have been long gone... that ship has sailed and possibly will not re-dock here anytime soon. You may not have been a part of CC when they were responding to comments made here. While in many instances the assigned staff tried to address issues brought up here, there were times they were pummeled because they could not control what happened while one was sailing and in one particular instance the X staff person was personally attacked for something over which they had no control. Is that a good environment under which they need to be exposed to?? I think not. As such, my comment about how was this addressed aboard and on comment cards and on the after sailing survey still stands, IMO... Well just well is a colloquial term meaning okay, next and moving right along... there are a few threads in this forum addressing similar 'situations' and each of us has the right to address it in our own thread. Like me, a few here on CC want what we want when we want it, yet understand that there may be times and situations when that will not happen given a wide array of issues and circumstances. I can accept this or reject this and decide where and how and with whom I will sail in the future and then reminisce about the good old days while doing something else as opposed to spending my money on a line which is not meeting my expectations. bon voyage
  10. Well, there are more than a few Classic vs Premium wines here and the lack thereof... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  11. Well, my take on this and similar topics includes: 1) X and other lines monitor on-board and follow up survey's about their product from passengers who just disembarked, as such coming to a 'limited and vocal few board' to hear what we may not like is of no value; 2) given their current financial situation, were we as families in the same situation and our children had the similar complaints about their living situation, what would you say or do to make up for it? Should they move to another familial situation; 3) Some have said they are willing to pay more for better this and that, well you can by going to other lines and go into their forum to proclaim the move (as a few on this forum have) to 'better' even if they have yet to sail; 4) If one had a 'product quality' issue aboard, nothing wrong with airing the issue here, but tell me how you handled it at the time it was noted/experienced and immediately after the sailing.; 5) I see nothing in bad taste for the critics be criticized, after all, this is CC - LOL of course some of us do not view it that way and that is fine; 6) Many of us do forget that were we to 'defect' to other forms of vacationing, there are quite a few behind us for our cabins regardless of the cost and will not complain about it.... go figure???; 7) As for this threads title, I can inform that more often than not, X does listen to me when aboard if I have an issue and in most of the time it is addressed right on the spot (or soon there after) and I sail on... We all can have issues on any sailing, yet to come here to ask if they are listening, well.... just well!!! X, like many other cruise lines need to get their finances back in order (whatever it takes at that) in order to attempt to return to their former 'glory' or just shut down. Okay, my critical or critic thoughts are done, at least for now... LOL bon voyage
  12. No, it does not at all show up as a credit. Check your invoice, it will show there and bring a copy (either print out or on phone) with you just in case there is a foul up... As for the unexpected OBC, call your point of booking contact to find out where it is from. Could be a computer issue. Cheers and bon voyage
  13. LOL ji... IMO it is de rigueur, so it is happening!!! bon voyage (89 days Barcelona we will be there!!!)
  14. Exactly this ^^^^^, My approach when dining is not what I expect or desire... which is not all that often!!! Things change after a brief and quick conversation... it does help when I provide the positives in the same conversation, too... that way it is not a full blown complaint session... LOL Thank you for the sage advice which many of us may forget to do... bon voyage
  15. lgw I have missed you around ... Thanks for the smiles... bon voyage
  16. To be sure, it is quite early in the game to know what wines will be available on any ship during sailings in April 2024. The best anyone can say or advise is what is available now... Your best bet is to wait until January or February 2024 and check out the app to get an idea of which wines are listed for your package... In fact, the better bet is ask during that time frame for someone to kindly post the, then, current wine list... Cheers and bon voyage
  17. While it could be my imagination, ✋🏿✋🏿✋🏿, usually by day three (3) staff and crew treat us like we were on the sailing before and the sailing after... then again we sail every year... in sub-$3k accommodations, usually, and never had a suite as they would be way beyond our desired budget... I admit that "frequently", per my spouse, I can be spoiled and require lots of attention when not at home!!! Food, cocktails and room service are what I seek special treatment for!!! LOL At any rate, that is our experience and it appears not others who have posted as such... as the acronym goes YMMV and sounds like it does. bon voyage
  18. @olemissreb My profound apologies suggesting that there was NO Blanton's on any X ship... I recommend looking for it at any low-key bar and/or ask a bartender where there may be some... I know I will be looking for it at my next sailing... Cheers and bon voyage
  19. sb - if nothing else, I continue to enjoy your style and silver (platinum gilded) tongue... bon voyage
  20. I did need to add that I did not know how much I would be saving, yet $475 was quite a bit more than expected.... bon voyage
  21. d2 what we do for saving money AND getting a good upgrade, too!!! Congrats... bon voyage
  22. Most likely ala carte... bon appetit and bon voyage
  23. Viking, Crystal, Oceania, Azamara, Regent are the ones who come to mind right away.... Please let us know how you enjoy these lines and how the service compares... bon voyage
  24. To be clear, most vegans do not only eat salads as our meals.... and we do not limit ourselves to salads, either. We enjoy quite an array of fruits and vegetables.... There are lots of options available in the vegetable world and we get them on X and quite a few other cruise lines, except X, so far, is the best at presenting the options other than just 'salad'. bon appetit and bon voyage
