Waiting 8 hours to reach land makes you wonder about the severity -
Agreed with these points. Maybe it’s all the drink packages, but I often find getting a drink at an NCL bar more difficult and time consuming than on Royal. As far as specialty dining, the dining on Symphony or Harmony beats NCL IMO. Royal’s steakhouse beats NCL’s, Jamie’s beats La Cucina (Onda, however is quite good) and 150 CP beats anything on NCL (although I’m a fan of Le Bistro, which many don’t seem to be). Ocean Blue has been really underwhelming and absolutely hammered my fish my last three tries. Anyways, regarding vibe, NCL does seem more lively and fun at night. The deck parties, especially outside on a ship with Spice, blows Royal’s inside parties out of the water. Although often an NCL cruise fare might appear more than Royal, if you are a drink package buyer on Royal, their prices for that seem to have really shot up.

The Royal cruise sounds over 1000 cheaper all in so if money is a consideration should be a no brainer. I agree the NCL vibe at night is better than Royal. But surprised by the food comparison. I’ve enjoyed Royal food more than NCL. In comparing the specialties for example Chops has always been better than Cagneys to me. Have you tried 150 Central Park? Probably my favorite restaurant on either line. You should do Symphony, not Allure. Allure is the only Oasis class ship not to have been refurbished.

Your math doesn’t make any sense. Drink package with free at sea is what 20 dollars a day gratuity? That’s like 2 drinks. Not 4 a day.

Jamie’s isn’t amazing but it’s definitely better than the new Giovannis Olive Garden Kitchen.

Multiple Royal ships also have a pretty decent free Mexican option on the pool deck too.

I agree with the bulk of the replies here saying the RC casino offers are a lot more generous. Definitely true for me — comped cruises offered in mail and email. NCL, zero offers, despite same amount of play . One thing I was confused by - what do you mean no NCL itineraries to the Caribbean in September? 🤔 -
This is just not true. Crew on both lines are pretty comparable. In general Royal crew a bit more friendly. Norwegian seems to be understaffed of late leading to longer lines.

Saw where Royal is experimenting with rolling out Starlink at least on one ship for now. I have had abysmal internet on my last few NCL voyages, but better on Royal. There does seem to be a difference. Also not 100% sure I have this right but thought I’ve read WiFi on Princess is pretty solid. -

I’m surprised you would have given them another shot after that fiasco -
Haha ok. That speaks volumes.

What metrics would suggest it is a good investment? 🤔

Coco Cay? Is anything Free to do there?

There is still a quiet beach area. With big improvements such as the large pool. Odd complaint -

All of this information is available online. -
Wasn’t something very similar to this posted not that long ago?

Hope there’s less covid onboard than my 5/29 sailing…fortunately I didn’t have any symptoms until I got home! That’s good that Footloose is playing. It only played on the final sea day that week. So not much opportunity to see it and it sold out quickly. Is the app still terribly glitchy? It barely worked onboard. All restaurants indicated fully booked but could easily be booked at a host stand. Areas for improvement to be sure.

The bar is totally fine IMO. Something different. Also if you need something as you’re walking by usually pretty easy and fast to get as there are rarely lines. Same can’t be said for other bars especially if understaffed.
