  1. So, I know that when the beds are in a "twin" configuration typically they are an l-shaped layout. I know there is the blue upholstered armrest on one side of the bed from when they were marketing as convertible to sofa during the day. Is that armrest hard fixed to the base, or is it moveable? I don't relish my traveling companion and I sleeping head to head like that with out something for spacing us apart a bit.
  2. I have not seen/heard anything about Medallion shipping no longer available for Standard guests (for a fee) but I do have a cruise booked for myself in November and my travelling companion has been unable to order his medallion for about 4-5 days now, and we are on Plus package. Seems a larger system issue. I know there is a travel agent webinar on 8/24 with "exciting" news for Canadian guests. My guess is launch of Medallion shipping for them. Perhaps the entire Medallion ordering system is disabled while they work on rolling out that?
  3. Looks like Avalon is loading Europe 2025 sailings in their system. Have not looked in depth to see if there appear to be any significant changes to itineraries yet. No “official” announcement, though I’m sure one will be forthcoming I. The next few weeks.
  4. Unless the post security/check-in area is not sterile from disembarking passengers (which for a new terminal means LOUSY design) there should be ZERO reason to not allow check-in earlier than 130/2pm and then have guests wait in the lounge until boarding can commence. It makes absolutely no sense
  5. So if Virgin will not allow folks into the terminal until their arrival time why the heck did they ballyhoo so much about their “bespoke” Miami terminal with all its snazzy facilities for ‘sailors’ …. Rather than use waiting space as designed/intended they force people to stand in the Florida sun and humidity which is NOT a great start to the cruise experience, especially for a line that tries so hard to market itself to non-cruisers. Poor form, VERY poor form!
  6. Sounds like she may be getting some hotel side changes if half wet dock/half dry dock. My guess is they will revamp the buffet similar to Caribbean/Emerald and possibly do some aircon/plumbing work as well. Not sure if MUTS is due for an upgrade/replacement or not. I know pre-shutdown there had been ongoing issues with burnt out areas of screen and sound.
  7. It’s Royal Caribbean, expect to be Royally Ripped Off! As long as folks keep paying their insane pricing they will continue to fleece them. I moved on to other cruising options years ago and have never looked back. I can appreciate the engineering achievement their ships represent, but their product is simply overpriced in every aspect.
  8. As long as the category you are booked into is not sold out it should be okay. As cruisetours are sold as a total package including the cruise portion, not an add on they will have to cancel/rebook which is super easy to do in the TA booking system. The room should repopulate into inventory immediately and they should be able to grab it without issue. A good TA will know how to do this without a hitch.
  9. Agree 100% and if they had a comparable land package offering at a competitive price that is whom we would be sailing with. And before anyone chimes in that you can do the land portion DIY, yes we could, but we prefer not to.
  10. @RuthC here is a picture of the entry. Ample room for a scooter. The door on the right wall is the bathroom. The bed is behind the photographer
  11. There are 4 oversized category I rooms midship on deck 1 - #s 1111, 1115, 1124 and 1128. They would heave ample room to store a scooter provided it will fir through a standard cabin door width. They do not have an extra furnishings like a loveseat/sofa. Bathroom is standard. They are not ADA rooms. Here is a link to a video tour of one of them:
  12. I experienced that on the front decks on the Amsterdam and Noordam before, but when we went down on the bow the wind was far less funny enough. Good thing is Coral has those lovely aft terraces open to all!
  13. @Thrak I looked at the cost for those "secret" aft oceanviews but we are trying to stretch budget as far as possible to use spending $$ for side tours. We are going to do the Connoisseur tour but will do an inside on cruise portion, hence the desire to be close to those aft terraces 🙂
  14. Im looking at one of the caribe deck rooms near the aft for this very reason 🤓
  15. Thanks @EDVM96 that is pretty much what I thought, I just wanted to verify from anyone with first hand experience on the Coral
  16. If you are booking the minimum cabin category on a GTY (IF, OZ, OF, BF, MF, etc) the deposit is non-refundable, if booking a higher cabin category and choosing room at booking the deposit should be refundable until final payment. Sounds like your TA is confused maybe.
  17. I priced out a Connoisseur Cruise Tour yesterday on Coral Princess. Fares are a fair bit higher than similar dates in 2024 with ZERO perks, not even a reduced deposit or onboard credit. I think I'll wait for a better offer than the $50pp measly Launch Fare savings.
  18. I sailed Caribbean Princess last December - not once did i use the OceanNow food/beverage delivery services. Some of my travel companions did. I found it easier to order from a bar server or walk to a bar and order a drink, or go to a food service area and get what I wanted vs waiting 20-30 minutes for delivery. The only Room service I did was breakfast using the paper door hangers put out before going to sleep, which about all I have ever done. Coffee and croissants on the balcony are always my "wake-up call" every day 🙂 I still had a superb experience, and really don't see the benefit in ordering from the app, but that's just me maybe.
  19. Are passengers ever allowed onto the Coral Princess’ bow on scenic cruising days like Glacier Bay? Or are the side of the Bow well too high for decent viewing? I know she has multiple other forward area for viewing but being on the bow is really sort of special. My previous 3 Alaska cruises were on Holland (twice) and Celebrity where this was allowed.
  20. The entire 2025 Alaska schedule has been “masked” and is not viewable until it opens for booking for Elites on Wednesday. This is so the inventory team can load fares. This is normal for Princess.
  21. as far as refunds - they will go back to the GC in order of most recently applied for the amount originally applied (provided air was paid in bulk with cruise fare). Refunds generally post in 4-6 business days once the refund request is processed in their systems, though in some cases you may be best served to call and have them actually manually request the refund as the system does not always auto-trigger it in a reasonable time frame, especially when changing components and not fully cancelling.
  22. Don't like the way Princess does this? Then go to Celebrity ... oh wait they do the same .... then go to NCL ..... oh wait they do the same ...... Royal -same, Holland - same, Carnival - same, MSC - same, Viking - same, Oceania - same ....... The only way to avoid this as an add-on is to cruise with a line where service fees are baked into the, usually significantly higher, upfront cruise fare - lines like Seabourn, Silversea and Regent I look at it as a part of the cost of my cruise. What the company do with the funds thereafter, and how the crew are compensated is frankly none of my business. If I wish to reward for superior service to key individuals I do so in the form of discreet cash tips.
  23. The caveat here is the OP is on a ship where Princess does not sell any specific category as obstructed. If they are in the room I think they are in then they booked and paid for a category BF and were assigned a BF. While some BF rooms do indeed have a solid steel railing they are sold at the same price as those with clear railings on this ship. If one does not want the risk of a stateroom location/feature/view they would be unhappy with then Princess does allow choosing your room at booking, in a higher category, for increased cost. If you choose to book a guarantee you agree to take what Princess gives you within the meta category you book. That's where the conversation begins and ends really.
  24. @krufrank It looks like you may be in L202 on the Emerald. Unfortunately Princess classifies those as category BF. They do not classify any balcony rooms on ships prior to Royal Class as specifically being obstructed. If you booked their lowest "let us choose your room" option for a balcony you are agreeing to be berthed in any room category BF or higher. In that regards Princess has met their obligation and quite frankly they do not owe you any compensation. Would it be nice if they did something, sure, and I hope they do but reality is that they met their end of the bargain with this cabin assignment. I'm not trying to be unempathetic, but just pointing out the realities of the situation.
