  1. Exactly. Plenty of tucker on board. Does RCI have MDR open for embarkation lunch like Princess? I never go to MDR for embark lunch, too rushed, buffet does me.
  2. Oh dear, what Covid Tier was Grand Princess. It was only a short cruise was it not?
  3. So you rolled the red carpet back up Graham !! Would Chilli have got the red carpet treatment for being one of the 'speshial people?' lol.
  4. To avoid 2.5 hr queue to book a shorex, could you not book it on line at home before you go, does Carnival allow bookings that way? Or perhaps the long queue because many pax were not on computer at home?
  5. Julie...Sounds like another Covid Explosion in the making. How slack are the staff and the pax re hand washing, sanitsing etc.
  6. I doubt the wine merchant or De Bortoli conned Princess, more like the greedy bean counters at Carnival wanted the huge mark up. The Willowglen is $16 a bottle or $5 a glass at Catalina golfie, when they have it in stock. The Willowglen is actually Sacred Hill range, bottom of DeBortoli Riverina wines.
  7. I was in Uncle Dans today, saw the De Bortoli Willowglen reds and whites as sold on Princess for something like $55. Yes Dans Price $6 a bottle by the half dozen. So it is plonk, sorry I mean Commercial Quaffer, lol.
  8. In the 1970’s and early 80’s, the Greek and Italian lines coming out here employed off duty NSW police as security. The Commish stopped that. They got paid a few dollars beer money but got a free cruise. Back then a few football teams went on end of season cruises and played up, hence the additional security.
  9. Or checking this forum, lol. I always check the MDR dinner menu at the doors during the arvo, to see if anything appeals, if not I go to Horizon Court, as I did on Coral in Sept. Suited me.
  10. I am not 100% but once fairly stabilised after 48 hours I think the hospital chucked me out as they wanted the bed for another patient. I am just back from my GP. He does not agree with what hospital Doc prescribed. So I told him I wanted to take the frusomide - diuretic. So like your mother I will go down the same path until I croak, like on/off/on/off. Thanks for your concerns.
  11. Mobile phone Police required at the MDR doors to confiscate the said item, lol. Bad manners to use a phone when sharing the table with other diners, in my opinion anyway. And no, I do not possess a 'smart phone' lol.
  12. Well I sometimes get criticized by a couple of my enemies on here for quoting covid case numbers by making 'sweeping comments.' But I don't really care. I am about to disembark from CC.
  13. Hope I don't get hammered again for negativity, but I just checked the current roll call for Westerdam - Transpacific and NZ as quite a few are doing the TP/NZ back to back. One pax reports there are 13 cases as confirmed by the Captain. Not going to requote the roll call comments.
  14. I do not think anyone on here should sway you whether to cruise or not. Personal decision, just weigh up the consequences if you do go and get crook. Good luck.
  15. Back in Sept my GP advised me not to go on Coral Princess, my immunity system is low, I catch anything, but went anyway.
  16. The ship let 'em loose on the community. As for positives using taxi/uber, some would not probably disclose their condition to the driver. Irriots. Standby for incoming, lol.
  17. To be honest, I don't think anyone in the MDR will 'give black looks' to your daughter. Smart, not torn jeans and a top will suffice. None of this malarky, lol It ain't Cunard.
  18. Perhaps the ships you mentioned have a few but not reached tier 1 or not disclosing them. I commend the Carnival Australia Gurus for being up front and disclosing the numbers..800 on Majestic Princess. Perhaps the other lines should also be upfront. It is a personal choice whether to cruise in these times. I made the choice in Sept and went on Coral Princess, perhaps I dodged a bullet. The older you are the bigger impact Covid can have and we all know it can be life threatening. Good luck JohnGc.
  19. He does not even need a jacket and tie on Princess these days, smart casual perfectly acceptable on so called 'Formal Nights' which are not formal anymore. Jackets and ties are suggested but not mandatory. You see the odd tux but not many.
  20. I would say every ship working this region has covid on board from a dozen to hundreds. Mask 😷 up people.
  21. I ask the question…why is a bottle of De Bortoli Willowglen wine, a commercial bottling, probably worth about $8, costing $54 on Princess and $35 on Luminosa? All Carnival Corporation.
  22. The cruise line and the tour operator are ripping off pax. That price is outreagous.
