  1. So.. I was on one of the later cruises to be cancelled (Sydney to Bali, December 2024) but never received any of the cancellation information so don't know the exact terms, although I assumed they were the same as people got for the earlier cancellations. Now in my account there is a 20% coupon for the Jewel, good through 2/18/24 but no coupon for the Spirit. Anyone with any insight?
  2. I recently used $300 worth of points (from $10k in NCL purchases) for an upgrade -OV to balcony - worth over $3K. So yea, valuable to me. Plus no annual fee. But I agree that it makes no sense to get obc instead of statement credit if you aren't going for an upgrade.
  3. Maybe time to try a new TA... They (NCL) do not have different rules for 3rd party bookings. So either someone is misinformed or the agency just doesn't want to be bothered.
  4. The rules have changed quite a bit since 2019. After final payment you might be eligible for FCC or an upgrade (maybe paid, maybe free, kinda depends on who you talk to). It's a one-time courtesy offer and won't be available if you took advantage of perks no longer offered, such as airfare or maybe 3rd/4th passengers free.
  5. Use of CruiseNext certificates is pretty straightforward but the ability to use more than one varies, depending on the current promo and cabin category. CruiseFirst is more restricted but depending on the current promo may offer a better value if booking studio, inside or OV. Booking onboard gives you an "in category" upgrade, so basically a better location on the ship for inside or balcony, an upgrade from obstructed to window for OV. Pre-covid, I think they may have offered OBC sometimes for onboard bookings. When sales were slow post-covid they offered a 10% discount on onboard bookings a few times. Haven't seen anything recently but it never hurts to ask. Note - they may tell you that an upcoming special, such as the triple-up, is an onboard special. So far, that hasn't been true. Holiday sales don't tend to be any different than non-holiday sales, although I do seem to remember an extra 10% discount at Thanksgiving about 5 years ago - I think it may have been for latitudes members only.
  6. To my knowledge, this is only the 2nd time they've done a triple-up promo, maybe someday they will do an "any cabin". However, double-up applies to any cabin fairly often - I often book OV as a solo and nearly always have 2 CNs on my booking.
  7. Your best option is to start by calling the airline and asking. Sometimes persistence and a little sweet talk pays off, it never hurts to try! Worst case scenario is they say no. Answers will depend on the airline. Ask outright if you can change your flight to what you want. Have the information for the flight(s) you want to substitute. Ask to cancel the part you don't want without cancelling the return flight - that's a win for them because they can resell that ticket if you let them know you aren't expecting a refund. But if NCL is still the owner of the ticket they might not. Then book what you want. If they still say no and you want to gamble, try calling back 72 hours before your scheduled flight - at that point the airline owns the reservation so they might be more flexible.
  8. Hold onto your hat, possibility of glitches to come....
  9. I check on prices all the time without logging in - but I stop at the summary page so no calls from random PCCs, reminders to finish my booking or duplicate Latitudes numbers. They don't have my information so don't contact me. The only thing I've ever noticed missing is any information regarding latitudes benefits.
  10. I was told that they are using up the old vouchers, new ones to come. But what they will say is anybody's guess! NCL isn't known to make things very clear. And the T&Cs still say you can't go to the same restaurant twice but the CN folks onboard say you can - so that's kinda lucy goosey.
  11. I once tried to substitute the sparkling wine they used to give all latitudes members. Only choice they gave me was a non-alcoholic version.
  12. You will get 2 sets of vouchers, for a total of 4 vouchers for the Sapphire and Platinum members - 2 meals each. You might have to ask for the 2nd set. How you use them is up to you - other than just giving them to the first-timers. In other words, I believe at least 1 eligible member must be present but can bring a guest. And to stave off the "but vouchers are per room" argument that is sure to follow:
  13. If you don't get an opportunity to bid by using the link then in all probability your reservation is not eligible. Did you book through a big box TA?
  14. No actual experience. Closest experience would be when a CN manager onboard put an extended due date for paying a deposit. Not sure why, I think it has to do with buying CNs onboard that aren't available until the end of the cruise. I'd think an extension would be more likely than changing payment after the final payment due date. I'd be afraid they might mess up and the reservation gets accidentally cancelled. I'd start with your PCC but hopefully your card comes in time.
  15. And payment is due on a specific date. NCL can extend the due date while the card is in the mail - or for any other reason a person might have for regarding an extension. So no, you are NOT dealing with the bank in order to make a payment.
  16. Of course, although by that logic they would rather get more than just the gratuity from heavy drinkers also, yet they don't put limits like some other cruiselines seem to do. But I don't buy the soda package because it's not cost effective - I don't drink that much soda to begin with and I can usually get my daily fill in port, plus I prefer Pepsi. So instead of getting the gratuity on the soda package - which I would pay if part of FAS - they currently get little, if anything from me. And what they do get is OBC.
  17. I just looked and the airfare seems to be offered for later cruises? Promo used to fall off at day 90 but I think they just changed it to 110 days, so nothing before mid October will have airfare available.
  18. A small caveat, based on the World Points upgrade process - which may or may not have the same processes. I was able to get FCC also, after using points for an upgrade. But someone else posted that when they reversed the process (asked for FCC, then their upgrade) they lost the FCC. I wouldn't venture to guess whether that was due to the order or just the fact that it was 2 adjustments after final pay - but probably a good idea to request your upgrade before final payment.
  19. Just because the site accepted it doesn't always mean the required deposit amount has been fulfilled. You may find that your reservation is still in pending status, the system had no reason to refuse your payment but that doesn't mean that it's all you need to pay. On the confirmation you received from NCL, what does it say under payment schedule. Should say something like FIRST DEPOSIT due on xxxxx - that's the amount you have to pay now or your reservation will be cancelled.
  20. If the card is late I would suggest you call NCL the day before your payment is due and ask for an extension - I think they might be able to do that - but probably a good idea to get it in writing. Your other option is to call BofA and see if they can give you the info...good luck.
  21. If only...I've put that in my post-cruise survey comments many times. Not everyone drinks. Some by choice, some for medical reasons. It would be nice to have it as an option. I think I've seen some people able to get it substituted with a dr. note. I just get my soda fix by using my OBC to pay on an individual basis (probably good to cut back anyway) - or get my preferred Pepsi while in port.
  22. You can remove the drink package and/or meal package before final payment, it will lower you cost. Other aspects of your reservation should not be affected. Same for BOGO.
  23. This happened to me once, just called my PCC, got a refund to my original form of payment. But you do get the current promos so you could lose points - or gain more. And airfare prices have increased in some cases. Also, if you had a double up CN promo when you booked and you don't have a balcony, they will return the 2nd CNC to your account.
