  1. Yea, just tell them to Dolly-size it
  2. Grab a drink and walk around the ship to see what appeals to you.
  3. Wow this is such a fantastic review!! IMO the best CC cruise review I have ever read on here. I know itโ€™s from a while ago but I am just seeing it and wanted to say thank you.
  4. Bermuda has a long history of being homophobic. The Supreme Court made gay marriage legal, then rescinded, then re-instated and the rescinded again early this year. Transgender people have no legal protections in Bermuda and many on the island find PDA offensive, this includes holding hands ๐Ÿ™„ Over the years have been there 2x, never again, my hard earned $$$ goes where me and my husband are welcome LEGALLY! Ireland still remains the only country that has legalized gay marriage by a popular vote of the people, not a court. We are returning to Ireland (for the 3rd time) this year for two weeks and are happy to spend our $$$ in such a beautiful and welcoming country!
  5. Unless you are totally a Carnival only person, may I suggest you look into Celebrity. My husband and I love Celebrity. They always have a decent and sometimes even more decent turnout at LGBTQ+ gatherings. We've made quite a few friends that we have stayed in contact with. Not to mention that Celebrity is a really nice line. Good luck!
  6. Go to one of the LGBTQ+ meet-ups, they will definitely have one on board and you will definitely meet some good gay folks to chill with. Perhaps if sharing a table with others is your thing you can find that as well, not me and my husbands thing but some of our friends like it.
  7. If you feel that the price is right and comfortable for you now, I say book it, don't wait and don't look back. Have a fantastic cruise!!
  8. I am a gay white male and my husband is an Asian male, while we have been together for quite a few years, we do have a considerable and noticeable age difference. This does not bother us one single iota. While I can say we have never been "bothered" by anyone about this, though we have gotten the taken aback looks when I introduce him as my husband, or the one time someone said, "did you say he was your husband?" Had to laugh out loud at that one and we did not take offence, I simply said, "yes you heard me correctly." My advice to you is be yourself, you are who you are, if anyone does not like it, that is THEIR problem, not yours, go and just have a great cruise/vacation! Life is far to short to not live as who we are.
  9. Sorry this has happened to you and your family. Positive is you will get a full refund! I recently canceled a B2B where I had hefty deposits and I received my refund for both in just under two weeks. Good luck!
  10. Our Personal Retreat Host/Butler greeted us but did not seem to be to excited to do the few things I asked such as empty the fridge and keep us with fresh ice and take away the welcome wine. I have read other threads regarding this so I asked about afternoon snacks and he told us to go Michaels Lounge. We really donโ€™t want the snacks but I thought I would ask. You made a mistake in just taking this as an acceptable response because it is far from it! I would have just said, "thank you so I will talk to the hotel manager to get this misunderstanding resolved."
  11. Me too! I had a O cruise booked for Dec 2022, which I canceled two weeks ago. I loved the itinerary and the thought of the Vista suite, but after taking to friends (who are in their mid 70's) who regularly sail on O, they did warn me that at 62 yo, I would be among the young ones, and knowing what I enjoy, O would probably not be for me. Unless I enjoyed having the public spaces almost to myself after 10pm. ๐Ÿ™‚
  12. I prefer to be safe rather than sorry, always print a copy of my travel docs, no matter how I am traveling.
  13. I think the religious exemption may be difficult, as the Pope has strongly endorsed vaccines for Catholics. While I of course do not know this for certain, I believe if your cruise is already 100% paid for you can apply for the exemption but you should do it sooner rather than later as they only allow a small percentage of unvaccinated guests on-board.
  14. This is just my opinion, but if you have only sailed on Carnival, NCL is a huge step up in the cruising game. Have not been on NCL in a few years, but the cruises I took were very enjoyable, food, entertainment venues, fellow cruisers etc. I am just so not a Carnival fan in any way shape or form. Also, now that I am over 60, Celebrity is my go to, but with kids at 4 yo, I feel NCL would be a good fit for your family.
  15. It's LA, there is always a traffic jam, especially mid-weed ๐Ÿ™‚
  16. Picky eaters of course have the right to be so, but dang does it annoy the heck out of me, especially when they are grown adults. I don't personally deal with it, I say we are going here and here etc. if you can join us great, if not will see you after dinner. I don't care how picky you are, one can ALWAYS find something on a menu that they can eat.
  17. No, they are only referring to commuter air service, i.e. puddle jumpers
  18. Thank you! And DUH on me, you had the date in your original post. ๐Ÿ™„
  19. If it is the Aug 7 cruise, the sgl sup is still showing when I do a mock booking
  20. If you do a mock booking, use just 1 traveler and when you get to the book now/payment page, you will see the single supplement reduced from the fare, it is usually a good amount and the ones I looked at do include OBC, gratuities, wifi etc.
  21. Agree, if you want to venture out beyond typical walking distance from the port in Boston, Hop-On/Hop-Off is the way to go and it is very reliable time wise. Also, Sam Adams has a tap room literally just 15 minutes walk from the pier, it is in the Faneuil Hall area near the Old State House, the original is in Jamaica Plain which you def need to get to by taxi/Uber/Lyft.
  22. Generally true but 100 miles in LA/So Cal is not like 100 miles in most of the rest of the country.
