Does Princess enforce 6 mos rule on passports?
Arizona Wildcat replied to fergorama's topic in Princess Cruises
Have you gotten enough comments? All saying exactly the same thing. If flying to a country that requires 6mos till passport expiration you will be denied boarding on the airline. -
Mystery medallion? What does a white medallion indicate?
Arizona Wildcat replied to Ldyandrea's topic in Princess Cruises
Have never paid any attention to the color of my medallion. On our last cruise DW gad a Grey medallion and mine was white. Found out I had three loyalty numbers! Oh well. -
Where can I find an Updated wine list?
Arizona Wildcat replied to Scotmay's topic in Princess Cruises
We did a B2B over New Years. About 1/3 of the wines by the glass changed from day 1 to day 22. Lots of substitutions starting about day 10. Would find a nice $15 a glass red and the next day it was gone. If the OP asked in a current roll call for his ship might get a bit more of an idea of what they are pouring -
On every cruise on a dressy evening you will have men walking about in everything from tuxedos to t-shirts and shorts. In general Europeans were a bit "smarter" than Americans.

My post was made as sort of a you have got to be kidding mode. We both to whom PVSA applies and that there are waivers. It appears at some ports they do a waiver on the spot and not at others. That a deceased person was charged is beyond comprehension. cr - crew and entertainers are not subject to a PVSA fine, but rather they need the appropriate passports and/or visas to disembark at ports.

Medallion with room still unassigned?
Arizona Wildcat replied to IUSteve's topic in Princess Cruises
Much more technology advanced than a key card. Doors and medallions can be programmed easily. Would guess (only that) They will program the door to match your medallion. Codes are changed after each passenger disembarked or changes rooms. Let us all know exactly what happened please -
Cancelled Port. Will there be a refund of any port fees?
Arizona Wildcat replied to TomBeckCruise's topic in Princess Cruises
Important to note a couple things. The maximum you will be charged for port fees is fixed when you book. Between that date and the cruise date fees can change (usually up). Missing a port will result in a reduction in fees that might be offset by increases (post your booking date) from remaining ports scheduled or replacement ports added. In some cases port fees are paid ahead and are not refunded if a port is missed. So to the OP, you likely will receive an OBC, possibly a reduction recruiter and possibly nothing. Have seen all 3. -
If you are asking can you bring more than 2 bottles on board at boarding - no. Go to the Princess website where the details are fully outlined.

INS officers uniform usually includes tactical gear. Nothing special there. An confused by your post. Crew members and passengers were disembarking, but others were charged the $941? Presume this was the middle of a cruise that had not yet stopped at a BONUS port, but this thread was about emergency/urgent medical situations - not someone saying they are choosing to leave. On a LA to Hawaii to Ensenada to LA cruise DW was told on death of her Mother that she could disembark in Honolulu Tomales arrangements (not me).

They showed 3 September 2025 cruises when I looked last week. Checked again and still there.

It pays to get the platinum princess insurance
Arizona Wildcat replied to Knickearth's topic in Princess Cruises
There are a couple of credit cards with excellent coverage including Chase Sapphire. Does have a fee after the first year. We found its coverage and claim procedure to be fast and fair. Even has primary coverage on rental cars. -
Not sure what constitutes a "listed" medical emergency. Do know a heart attack patient who was evacuated to the US on a cruise that began in San Pedro (LA). Never any discussion of violating the act or a bill. Agree with 1025 if the disembarking was involuntary due to a medical emergency there would be no fine to the passenger

Elite Plus --Complimentary cappuccino, latte, tea, expresso
Arizona Wildcat replied to mfabz's topic in Celebrity Cruises
With a huge turnover and Celebrity has exactly the same issues as every other company (probably more with the international crews who mostly have no experience). Instead of getting upset I was told to gang up and redial if on the phone, walk away and ask someone else if in person, and forget chat as it is usually hopeless. -
You at times can have a bit of noise from above. Did not bother DW or me.

A "Hidden" RCL and Celebrity Benefit
Arizona Wildcat replied to Tom and Ingrid's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Would make the shareholder request at least 4 weeks before the cruise date. I always take a picture of my purchase confirmation (thus no other data except my name) and email that. -
They make money when you charge using their card and the points are usable just on Princess. Builds loyalty to them. I recently opened a no fee bank card. Got $200 after charging $500 in 30 days plus 5% cash back on groceries and fuel for the first year.

Use the website Cruise Compete. They are not a travel agent, but can provide you several possibilities. Not hard to then do a Google check on a few. Definitely worth it for what has worked out to be a 5-8% saving on every cruise as group space (rarely suites) us often available. Then you can CALL a couple.

Cancellation of MDR reservations for post Sept cruises
Arizona Wildcat replied to lorri111's topic in Princess Cruises
Agree. Makes no difference when cancelled. We have not even bothered to look. June 17th works for us to rebook. -
Yes. Often 4-6 weeks

VERY poor customer service on the phone by Princess
Arizona Wildcat replied to ddled's topic in Princess Cruises
Completely agree. My TA lives in Ohio and grew up in the South. Spending hours dealing with the medallion? Do not understand playing Don Quixote trying to get it compared to a wait of usually a minute or two and doomsday scenario of 30 minutes. Same with dinner reservations. -
Think you missed my point. Yes, a disabled person can disclose their disability and certainly any needs. But you suggested Princess query those with rooms for those with special needs. As said, Princess cannot ask anything. Anyone can book (unfortunately) an ADA room and is not required to state any reason for their booking. Similarly my DW carries a case with "medical" supplies. A cruiseline (or an airline cannot inspect except a scan for weapons. Princess can ask about the services the dog provides as dogs are not normally on board. If I do not require and special services/allowances (I do for diet only and a trekking pole) They can ask only about why I require an otherwise banned or questionable item. PS I book regular cabins
-
Certainly agree. But, how would Princess know about the specific needs of passengers in accessible cabins? Last I knew the ADA banned inquiry of needs. Those with disabilities can volunteer and ask for assistance, but not required to so.

How early can I board? (6PM sailaway from Vancouver)
Arizona Wildcat replied to kad56's topic in Princess Cruises
Once onboard in Vancouver you really cannot reasonably get off and back on the ship because of customs. See the city in a couple days pre or post cruise.
