  1. That always can happen. The hotel and accommodation is contracted. Not Princess fault the hotel failed. We simply using the ports forum and Google locate a hotel that offers airport and cruise port shuttles.
  2. I would arrive early. Worst case you wait a while. Best case you board a bit earlier.
  3. Certainly choice for toiletries is personal. If you buy Bigelow at home you should be happy on board.
  4. Agree with most, but with some fares you cannot change your flights. You must go thru FBC. As for alternate flights - absolutely yes. But we have been provided impossible connections and friends were sent on a 5 say journey about Mexico when a 90 minute flight to Los Cabos would gave done the trick. Easier in a weather situation to deal with the airline directly instead of having to try to speak with FBC. On another cruise, DW and I were told we had to wait for FBC to call us back when our flight was canceled. Meanwhile the only other flight that could arrive in San Juan in time to meet our ship took off. We got to the ship 3 says later via Denver, Chicago, Newark, San Juan, a hotel, flight to Barbados, and another hotel. Yes they covered the flights, hotels and some meals; but just understand in those few situations when things go sideways that FBC, EZAir or any consolidator may complicate things. If we had booked direct we could have simply transferred to the other airline.
  5. The 2025 cruises were released about July 30th 2023.
  6. The videos say it all. Lahaina is still closed to non residents or those helping to rebuild. For those that have visited, cherish those memories.
  7. Obviously I spent too long in Spain and Italy. At 5 or 6pm I get a glass of wine or a drink. Maybe a tapa at the bar. Then maybe some music followed by dinner around 8pm. You have it figured out. The hypotheticals about not being able to book recruiters and thus owed a refund are a bit silly. Like yourself we have always found an acceptable time after boarding. With the shortage of experienced staff on board and at home shouldn't we be a bit more flexible? Had a table mate who repeatedly complained on hoard about MDR service. The rest of us changed tables. Things today are different and sometimes challenging, thus travelers can chose to accept the situation today, be frustrated or stay home.
  8. You will almost exclusively receive canned sodas. Agree Coke Zero in Australia tasted different. Sweeter to me.
  9. The app $%#%. Since you are alone suggest not stressing over the app and simply handle on board. Unless you are trying to eat very early you should have no problem eating as you prefer. DW and I eat later and simply showed up. Never a wait more than a few minutes.
  10. Lots of changes coming. Have cruises that have scheduled stops in Russia, Isreal and others that are not likely to happen. As said, today unless you are a resident you cannot enter Lahaina. Sadly will be years before things are rebuilt.
  11. Depending on the port the amount could be a few dollars (especially a tender port) to a couple hundred $$ like the Panama Canal. Many port charges are not refunded because either they are prepaid and not refundable to the cruiseline or port charges increased since you booked your cruise and the increases in other ports offset the missed port. Have missed a dozen or so ports over the years. Received a couple small OBCs. Nothing from the rest. Missed Manzanillo on our last Princess cruise with no refund or credit.
  12. Just remember that pricing is not firm until you book. With dynamic pricing that consolidators use they literally can change in a moment. Also understand the complete terms of your ticket. Seat selection, flight changes etc. Last, remember you will need to go through FBC tochange flights or is the airline changes your flight time. FBC uses a computer to rebook those changes so they can(and do) book "legal" connections. For example 40 .minutes in DFW. You are not likely to make the connecting flight. In general FBC good for international. Domestic flights safer booked direct
  13. As said, ask the bar staff. Each will have a favorite or two.
  14. They have been the same for many years. OBC. This is added to whatever promo is in effect.
  15. We have not seen any issue for seating Sabatinis at 8pm on anything from a Christmas cruise when there were 800 children and 100% booked to a 14 day transatlantic to a 7 day Caribbean. Early dining has been VERY crowded on every cruise Except those from the Med. They tend to eat VERY VERY late. As for a person's status, the maitre d knows your level and cabin from your medallion. Do not think they look or care.
  16. Absolutely true. If I believed the all the negative things from social media I would take an extra suitcase with my own life raft and emergency rations. Saw Crown Grille was almost always empty after 8pm. Even on short or holiday cruises.
  17. If before final payment my TA calls and the fare is reduced. Have done twice on my upcoming 21 day TA. First time $600 reduction. Second time a flash sale on the plus package and another $600. Cruise is in October. I note that we have only minimal OBC as my TA paid for other stuff. We do not purchase Princess insurance as we have our own for trip and health. Final payment 90 days pre cruise so not a big deal giving Princess some $$ pre cruise. PS - on a Christmas cruise the beverage packages were not available. Never saw that before.
  18. Have recently done a couple Princess Cruises. Lounge on Emerald was just like the one on Celebrity. Drink package much better on Princess as most things covered with basic package. Entertainment much prefer X as well as the buffet. As for the crew, pretty much ALL crew on every line tries to do their best. After some 20+ cruises on X we will sail the itinerary. For example X has a 7 day Norway cruise, but HAL.in 14 days goes all the way to North Cape. Other situations X is better as in Alaska. Comparing Whittier to Seward? Seriously?
  19. Just get refunded a bit later. On the next day there will often be no queue at Guest Services. Much easier. Also remember as others stated, many dining times are not released until after you board. Have been told one third on Diamond and half when on Sun. So lots of opportunities to book right after you board.
  20. Thank you for restating my post. On TA and TP. cruises there are obviously no.ports in the middle of the ocean for WIFI
  21. The dividers can be opened unless at one of the fire walls. You can see on some of the deck plans
  22. We did exactly this twice. On our first cruise customs was facial recognition off in 10 minutes. Second cruise disembarkation delayed until 7:30 and long lines to get off the ship. Rush hour traffic both times. Arrived at BOS 8:20 the first time, 9:30 the second. My question is what happens if you miss your flight? The problem is you cannot predict if bad weather will delay docking. With an international flight what are the rules time wise for luggage and checking in? Traveling 1st class? Have a NEXUS pass to expedite security?
  23. Have always had spa employees actively selling spa services and offering discounts as we boarded. Cannot imagine there would be a line to arrange for spa services.
  24. The TA cabin blocks have various agreements and terms. Usually the longer the block is held open the fewer cabins my company could turn back. Also if a cruise is indeed "sold out" that close to final.psyment could create a closing of group TA cabin blocks. Last, there could have been an actual group. Many of those fall apart and cancel, so rooms available near final payment. Pretty much until final payment day plus three days you have only an approximate number of open cabins. Pricing changes will tell you if full or not full
