  1. @morpheusofthesea please clarify if the catered food at the island party included Jell-O shots at the dessert station—LOL; it was difficult to discern in the video!! If they were, that might explain the “dance of the leis”…

Mrs dock b here (he was signed in already and I just had him pass me the tablet when he was done reading) Anyway, I had used the hair cleansing product wen several years ago and experienced hair loss; found out others had the same issue so I quit using it and that certainly helped. But the thing that has totally changed my hair loss from how you described it to normal hair loss (a few strands only) was when I quit coloring my hair. I do not know if you color yours or not, so that may not be a factor in your hair loss. I now not only lose lots of hair when I wash it but I’ve had a lot of regrowth in the last 2 years of enjoying my natural silver hair.
  3. As 63 is evenly divisible by 9, there may have been a transposition error on your final payment. So if you overpaid due to that transposition, MSC has refunded the error.
  4. And here’s a question to see if any staff can answer: will the new MSC terminal in Miami be ready earlier than planned, like at the end of 2024 vs. spring 2025? Thanks!!
  5. We are waiting to see pics of you trying the slides on the ship!! If not photos, at least your review of the slides; if DW was there, she would go with you S. (as I recall, W. wasn’t too keen on the idea!). But if one doesn’t ride the slides on a port day, then a cabana is the excellent option. Fond memories of lunch with y’all on OC is making us hungry for lobster roll. Enjoying your live report…

  7. This makes sense that those paid onboard would not count. But a follow up question: would the daily service charge being prepaid in advance end up counting toward Voyager Club points?
  8. The actual hook part is small…I should have noted that. But it does conveniently holds a hangar or two, neck strap of hats, lanyards (tho we don’t use them), and even that wound-up charging cord. The hook is like a cup-hook size but more than adequate for our usages.

The hair dryer wasn’t wired into the drawer so she hung it up in order to have full drawer space. The charging cord was hung up when not in use; keeping it visible helped us not leave it behind on the last day. Yep: wet swim items (my apologies, DW; I’ll move my things to the dog house now. But this was such a good use I had to share!) Looking closely, you can see not only the cord & the dryer but each of our hats hung on separate hooks. The hook with the blue jacket was used by DW during the day for items like this but when it came time to get ready for dinner, she’d hang her evening clothes here. No photos but she put another hook on my side of the cabin for my evening clothes; it had to be hung on the ceiling to hold mine but hers were fine with the hook on the wall. She had another hook by my closet for my belt since there was no hook provided in the closet. We’ve discussed getting an additional package of 10 as we often had to move items off hooks in order to use hooks for other applications. They came in a small box with the hooks in one zip-bag and magnets in another. We simply packed the little box in our checked suitcase.
  10. We can put our garbage service on “hold” so we don’t have to pay for service that is not used. But for our next trip, I’m going to tell my neighbor he can use our can for his extra trash as a “thank you” for keeping watch, as he won’t have any extra fees to pay for the out-of-can garbage. If we turn off water to the house, then we drain the pipes by turning on all the faucets. If we leave the water on, then we leave the drains to the sinks open so if there is something that happens at a sink, it doesn’t fill and overflow. For our outdoors, we make sure trash can, outdoor chairs, etc. are placed where they won’t blow around in a storm. Our pool automatically turns on the pool pumps in freezing weather so we leave our pool as is; we’re in the south so it could be a different need in other parts of the country. Don’t forget to set your house alarm if you have one. See if your local police or sheriff has a program where you can let them know you’ll be away. Our sheriff does this and will have a deputy swing by to check things out. We let our neighbors know they may see that sheriff and to not be alarmed. We also tell neighbors we are NOT having any moving vans or trucks coming to the house while we’re gone so if they see any, call the sheriff!! We also inform them if the pool company is expected so the neighbors won’t be concerned about that. Thank you for this thread: we already do many of the suggestions but I’ve now added others to our list!!
  11. Just never know what you might see in a glass elevator!! Harmony of the Seas, forward elevators. Yep! The piano player moved his piano all over the ship, including an elevator one evening!!
  12. Is it possible to have the complimentary Prosecco (isn’t that for Diamond status) swapped for the Nicolas Feuillatte? Would there be a full charge for that bottle or maybe just the difference in price between Prosecco & champagne? Of course, with the $100 introduction we’re going to try next cruise…maybe no upcharge!! We enjoy your live-froms!

  15. @mnocket I reported that banner in my earlier post. You still could ask your TA about the Senior Club and provide the info (photo) of the details. Who knows…you might get the perks! From my reading on this board (another personal experience) trying to change a booking might result in a total re-fare at the current rate and/or a loss of the perks you received when you initially booked. But, your TA should be able to keep MSC straight on whether to change your booking or not. Let us know!
  16. So I went to the brochure link @FionaMG supplied in the post above. Then scrolled to the bottom of the page to the “Our Fares” which is one of the many options under the “Travel Info” heading. Here is the “Our Fares” link: https://www.msccruises.com/int/cruise-deals/our-fares Not only is there a Senior Club fare listed but among the many fare options, there is an age 18-29 fare called Young & Young! The initial link to the brochure page triggered a banner from MSC saying “we notice you’re from the US; do you want to go to that page?” I did then click the banner to go to US site and the “Our Fares” option is not there nor are the other special rates.
  17. I understand a corkage fee on a bottle I bring aboard and take to MDR, but they also say they (might?!?) charge corkage fee on a bottle I buy through the RC website prior to the cruise? Also, along the same line: I know we each can bring one bottle aboard at embarkation to be consumed in the cabin (or pay corkage if taken to consume somewhere else) but, can I bring on more than one each and just automatically pay corkage on the 3+ bottles? Thank you (and anyone else too!) for help with these questions. BTW: I would think policy applies on all RC ships but if it matters, we’ll be on Harmony.

  19. In 1996, DW & I embarked from San Francisco for our honeymoon, to go through the Panama Canal ending in Florida. Not only was the terminal a warehouse, but the buses from the airport actually drove into the building where passengers were lined up to get checked-in for the cruise. There was no separation for vehicles, baggage drop-off, security, or check-in lines (really, really L O N G lines!!) as all were within the same footprint of the building. You just moved from one area to the next, following directions.
  20. Just for grins, I googled this customer service guy. Found same name, working in customer service field…don’t know if same person or not and I only took a very cursory look. But interestingly, the guy I googled, runs a company that uses AI to help other businesses address their customer service issues. Hmmmmm…
  21. I’d keep an eye out, via the other booking number, for possible cancellation of a bungalow; someone may decide they don’t want/need what they reserved. And, if final payment has yet to happen, someone may end up cancelling their cruise and a bungalow.

  24. When in a hotel, we count the number of doorways to get to the closest emergency stairs and to the alternate exit. In the event you had to duck low or crawl to get to an exit, the number of steps would not help but you could still feel the doorways. DW and I need to do a better job of finding secondary (the “hidden” stairway exits) when on a cruise ship and knowing how to get there, in addition to the main stairs. Once, on a Princess ship, they had pax using both the main stairwells and the “hidden” ones for muster drill. Unfortunately, only the main stairs & elevators were available after drill.
  25. @Best Cat Mom loving your review—thank you for taking time to share with all of us. We’ll sail Divina this coming December in YC as our 3rd MSC cruise. Our cabin is 2 doors aft from yours, 15026. Anything we need to know about the location (noise, interlopers…anything positive or not-so-positive). We won’t try to change rooms but if there is something to be aware of, this will give us time to moderate our expectations if we need to. Regardless of anything, we plan on having a lovely, relaxing time in YC!! I thank you for your insight. PS: got any photos from the auto garage yet?!?
