  1. I use John Frieda Violet Crush Shampoo & Conditioner. I’ve tried others but this works better for my very light blonde hair. It’s a bit more expensive.
  2. We no longer purchase the dining packages because too many times we couldn’t get a time we wanted.
  3. Manually change the time on your iPhone. Your watch should be connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth and that’s how the watch updates the time.
  4. I like the premium package but am a lightweight so don’t drink enough to warrant $142 Canadian each and every day.
  5. We primarily book Aqua Class and choose it for Blu. I would classify it as Main Dining - just a different main dining room. We will est in specialty dining two or three times. DH would eat there nightly but I’m not much of a foodie so it’s lost on me. I would rather spend the money on good cocktails.
  6. We used to sail in Concierge Class before Aqua Class came about but are switching back to CC for our next cruise We just couldn’t justify the price differential. Agree that the best reason to book is the price and location. We never used the Concierge in the past, but we did enjoy the embarkation lunch, and always switch out the canapés for cheese & crackers. I’m allergic to shellfish so there is never an argument. We always request our sparkling wine for one of the sea days. Ask your room attendant.
  7. Did you make any changes to your cruise? We had problems when we changed something and it caused a discount to fall off the reservation. They should be able to correct it. It will help if you have your original booking so you can double check all of the discount codes.
  8. I’ve got a different take. Finances are tight for almost everyone. But Boomers and Gen X tend to have more disposable income. Plus more vacation time, some being retired, fewer at home responsibilities like kids.
  9. My guess? They put an expiry time in the email but didn’t sell enough so they’re doing the Extended thing 🙄 😆
  10. I just looked at the email sent by X and it shows that the time for the sale has expired.
  11. It may be correct, it may not 🤷‍♀️ Some of these things seem to change depending on who you talk to. That's also not just a Celebrity problem. If I was to bring one, I'd probably chat with someone online so I got a written response, then bring a heating pad that I wouldn't cry over if it wound up in the naughty room.
  12. I've got door decorations for when we sail at Christmas - just a little wooden "Merry Christmas" sign that has a wire hanger. I hang it from a magnet on the door. Honestly, I'm not at all inclined to do cutesy decorations but it's your vacation and it's not harming anyone so what the heck. If someone feels that it is 'tackifying' (yes, made up that word) their vacation then that's their problem. Ducks ... I worked a charity duck race for a few years and although we tried to corral all the ducks, some always went missing. And they wound up in bins around the area, which bothered me. I'd feel the same way about a lot of ducks on a ship. They'll wind up in the garbage.
  13. I was curious about this so looked up the policy. Here's what it says: "Certain items that generate heat or produce an open flame are not permitted onboard. This includes clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense, and any other item that may create a fire hazard. Curling irons and hair dryers are allowed. " It doesn't expressly state heating pads. My experience has been that my heating pad doesn't get nearly as hot as my curling iron so I suppose one could make an argument that they are much less dangerous than a curling iron. But it would probably make sense to call Celebrity (or better yet, write so you have an answer that you can refer to) to confirm.
  14. Agree that Special Needs is the place to start. If there is a microwave (don't think I've ever seen one in a Celebrity ship?), it's not going to be close by. I would take either a heating pad or those first aid heat pads that activate when peeled.
  15. The peak of the baby boom will hit retirement age this year. This demographic is also the one with the most money to spend, and time to vacation. Not arguing that it would be great to have some free wifi (altho I really enjoy cruises because I have no excuse but to put down my phone), but I don't think ships are going to suddenly be filled with Gen X youngsters like me.
  16. On St Kitts we have had beach day excursions twice (the beach that faces Nevis), a rum tour once, and the last time we took a taxi over to the Marriott and hung out at the resort for the day. The resort was definitely the most relaxing, and not too busy.
  17. Years ago when we lived in the States, I used the Amex concierge service to get tickets to an event. I probably could have gotten the tickets myself, but it would have meant hours on the phone or online so it was worthwhile to have someone else handle it.
  18. After a couple of horrible experiences in 2021 and 2022, I became a carry on convert. The longest I've done is 13 nights on a ship and 5 nights in Europe. Early spring which meant layers and cold weather gear. I don't see myself going back to checked baggage again. The less stuff I have to haul around, the better. But I know it's not for everyone.
  19. Might be best to read Celebrity's policy. The fee depends on where you're a resident of, the length of cruise, and the time until the cruise. Here's a link: Celebrity Cruises Cancellation Policy
  20. We sail on Celebrity and find it's a good fit for us. We aren't into party bands or raucous parties on deck but we also don't want to sleep away the cruise. We like a good meal and a few cocktails with a bit of entertainment. They used to say that Celebrity was a more subdued line and I think that still aligns, Given that you've sailed Disney, you might enjoy the Retreat on one of the Celebrity ships.
  21. Not sure if the original poster will see this as the thread is 4 years old. Don't bother trying to book on the app. Instead, go immediately to one of the Specialty Dining reservation desks and they will help you. There are usually desks close to the area when you embark the ship and also up by the buffet.
  22. Am I interpreting this correctly? With NEXUS I get expedited entry into Canada and the United States no matter where I'm travelling from? That sort of seems like a no brainer.
  23. I checked and read all of the fine print. They must be charging the fee in the conversion. Guess I am gullible enough to believe that they would make the fees apparent. Just came back from a trip to the US and only used my USA issued Amex to avoid the charge. Thanks.
  24. We were able to go out on that deck on boarding day when the Spa had open house.
  25. I'm too lazy to haul things like cases of pop on a ship. We've calculated the costs and what/how much we drink (I drink alcohol, he does not), it's way cheaper to just pay by the drink if you're a moderate drinker.
