  1. You may have confused them by using the terms “ my time dining.” That is not what it is called on Celebrity. I am not surprised that they didn’t know what you were asking about, so you might try once more and ask about “Select” dining.
  2. But AI is now optional on many cruises so there is quite a bit of money saved. and I say, one free cruise is better than none 😀
  3. Did you mean they are NOT allowed instead they are NOW allowed?
  4. How did Celebrity handle getting you a replacement for the Zenith cruise?
  5. So far there are been “impressions” and “suppositions” but no sign of any prohibition on plastic bottles on Celebrity outside of one sign in Vancouver. Other lines might do it differently. As of now there is no specific reference on the Celebrity website, nor in the e docs.
  6. Since the OP has not specified where, it’s hard to give advice about excursions in the ports that Celebrity visits. A general rule of thumb however is that the Shore Excursions are offered, not by Celebrity, but by local vendors who may or may not have the personnel and vehicles available to add extra groups.

  8. Sorry your experience was unsatisfactory. I have sent out laundry on all of my cruises since the restart and have had no complaints. Perhaps you did not check the correct box when it comes to hiring. That is an extra charge item, not the standard
  9. Heat sets off sprinkler systems. An improperly used clothes steamer could create enough heat to cause a problem.
  10. what makes you say that? Clothes steamers are specifically named on the DO NOT PACK list
  11. will you be doing Express walk off, meaning that you can move all your luggage off the ship with no assistance? if you will be putting your luggage out the night before, are you in a suite so it will be offloaded first? do you have Global Entry? Do you have any airline status that would help you get through lanes quicker? Will you be flying first class or coach? And do you have TSA pre-check? What is your plan B if you miss the flight? How much will it cost you to fly standby later in the day? How many flights are there later in the day that you could catch? What is the load on those flights at this time because if they are already sold out or nearly so, you won’t have much of a chance of getting a seat. how well do you handle travel stress? Will this plan cause you more stress than you can handle? These are just a few of the questions you need to consider before you book that flight
  12. Extension cords brought from home aren’t a good idea. They are specifically listed on the “what not to pack” page of the FAQ. Special needs Department will provide approved cords.
  13. Fort Lauderdale and other US ports usually require you to disembark for a few minutes as you described. Sometimes non-US ports allow you to stay on board when you’re a back to back passenger.
  14. Hated my edge cruise and won’t book another in that class. Hate greige (gray-beige). even the Christmas decorations were gray.
  15. It was calledExtend Your Stay and it is not currently offered.
  16. Can you point me to where it says that passengers can’t bring plastic bottles on board? Thanks.

  18. Searches (by way of sniffer dogs or even hand searches) are not uncommon in some ports. Despite being repeatedly admonished not to take food ashore in South America, I recall lining up to have backpacks and purses searched by local authorities on shore. When people realized what was going on, they jettisoned the food. I remember the site of discarded apples bobbing in the water after panicked cruisers tossed them away before getting to the search desk.
  19. I’m not sure what they told you on edge, but there is no Skyview lounge on that ship. Perhaps you are confusing it with the retreat lounge. In any case, the sky lounge on the M class and S class ships is open to all passengers.
  20. Celebrity will not provide a packed lunch for you. At nearly every port you visit it violates health and agriculture laws. Do not take fruit or sandwiches or cookies off the ship. If you have prepackaged snacks from home, in sealed packages, you can usually take them but some places even frown on those.
  21. Last week on infinity I was able to drop my carry-on in the room shortly after 11 but the room was not cleaned until well after 2. The steward apologized but he was covering for someone else and had two extra rooms to do and I was the very last to be done.
  22. I completely agree that the people who are in charge of the scanning machines do not care whatsoever if you have a beverage package or not. They only look at if you have two bottles of wine (and often confirm that it is not liquor) Your Xpress pass is supposed to show whether you have a beverage package or not but often it doesn’t and that must be straightened out once you are on the ship. So the people at the scanners really have no way of certifying that you have a beverage package or not. Nor do they have any way to charge you any kind of corkage. That would only take place on the ship. And as repeated so many times, only if you bring the bottle to a restaurant or a bar. If you drink the wine in your room, there is no corkage.
