  1. You are SO disappointed in Royal Caribbean and started thread because you didn't care for a show? Sorry, I don't get the issue. What am I missing? Is this some sort of joke post? I don't like juggling acts. When ever one is featured, I simply don't attend. NO problem. M
  2. I don't get the appeal for the price. We went once and I doubt we'd go again. At $500 for the 2 of us for a few upcoming cruises, NO THANKS! We had a nice lunch but the service was SO SLOW. and (our fault) we didn't realize we needed reservations, and had to eat too late in the day. We were tempted to go to the Snack Shack to get a sandwich. I do like that Coco Cuvee and so far, can't get it anywhere else on Coco Cay but the beach club. I'm happy for those who enjoy it. In my opinion, it is an expensive beach day. I'm happy with the complimentary beach, complimentary food (I can eat when I want) , complimentary pool. M
  3. This is the letter you can expect to see when you board. It will be in your cabin and will detail on board benefits. If anything has changed it will be reflected on the letter Enjoy your cruise
  4. If you go to the gifts section of the website there are small (half bottles) bottles of alcohol and mixers for purchase. RCCL sells a water package. m
  5. Years ago, the Nellies beach Cabanas DID include lunch at Barefoot Beach. M
  6. I guess I am officially old! I find the music on board uncomfortably loud, especially in the theater. Sometimes the music is so loud, I can't hear the singers. We generally sit 10 rows or so from the stage and I wonder if there is a better spot that is not as loud. Went to Captains Jacks on Coco Cay and couldn't carry on a conversation, simply too loud. Coco Cay pool is loud but that is a party area, and I understand the desire to have loud music. Lucky for me, I like the beach. Of course, important announcements are so low, I can't understand what is being said. Just no pleasing me!😀 M
  7. Yes, often medical care can take a toll on family finances. Thank you for your understanding. M
  8. Well, that is not necessarily accurate. A pinnacle member, sailing in any class cabin, has access to Barefoot Beach. M
  9. I agree that many people live above their means, but I would not lump huge medical bills into that category. People have a choice to buy specific items, but no one has a choice in their medical condition or to be diagnosed with a medical disease. If I had a choice, I certainly would not have chosen my life-threatening medical diagnosis. Thankfully I am able to afford good medical insurance/care, but others might not have that option. it was very sad to see the fights on the Royal Caribbean and carnival cruise ships. m
  10. Shrimp is served at Coco cay, at the Coco Cay Club. It’s part of the appetizer box. Several weeks ago, our Mariner cruise stopped at Labadee. The barefoot beach lunch included both cold peeled shrimp and shrimp salad. When recently on Harmony and stopping at Labadee, shrimp was not served at barefoot Beach lunch. m
  11. Yikes, I will certainly be disappointed if Barefoot Beach is removed as a suite amenity. m
  12. Usually one can look at the menu and figure out the formal nights. The sliced tenderloin early in for the first formal night, and the lobster tail towards the end for the second formal night. HOWEVER. on a recent eight night Mariner cruise we had lobster tail on a random night, and then had a formal night the following night. It was one of the few times lobster tail was not the formal night menu. m
  13. I wish folks would realize this. They call for every little question and get an answer from a poorly trained rep (not really the rep's fault) reading a script. In my experience in the past few months, ships are sailing full or nearly full. Some are sailing over double occupancy limits. Generally I consider full based on double occupancy, but some passengers use the full occupancy ( all beds - 3 or 4 to a cabin, large suites at full capacity) for counting. M
  14. So, that was TV movie. There are more than a few things that were not accurate, but it was a cute movie. M
  15. Anyone recall that in the "old days" casino smoking was banned on formal nights? Surely, they can make the casino smoke free a night or two! M
  16. As with all of the extras, as long as people are willing to pay the listed price, that would be no reason to sell them for any cheaper. When I’m there shortly, I’ll have to take a look to see if they’re all occupied. If so, then it appears Royal Caribbean knows what they’re doing. m
  17. Many land-based casinos have no smoking. They seem pretty crowded to me. I wish Royal Caribbean would flip the smoking/non-smoking sections on some of the smaller ships. The smoking section is just a couple of rows in the casino and the other 75% is smoking. M
  18. The poster was writing about Barefoot Beach, the beach for suite and/or pinnacle guests. The buffet is different from the general buffet. We’ve been to Labadee /barefoot beach a few times recently, on two different ships. The upgraded buffet was different per ship. Harmony had thin steaks and Mariner had (decent size for a buffet-similar to the shrimp cocktail on board,) shrimp as well as shrimp salad. A few other buffet items were different from each ship and also several items on the general buffet. Plenty of selection. A nice lunch treat m
  19. if you mean for entertainment - you will have to wait till on board to reserve entertainment options. M
  20. I guess if you pull the beds apart and had two small beds each against the wall, it will give you a little more room. m
  21. Still around. This is the first I’m hearing of a denial for use. Would love to hear the experience of others. m
  22. I like that each set of chairs has its own table and umbrella. That is a nice upgrade for me. m
  23. To me the answer is the bartender rather than the bar. The same drink might taste differently if prepared by two different people. With heavy/light pours in alcohol, different mixes/juices/etc. I've seen real variations with chocolate martinis and cosmopolitans. There are lots of special martinis and most can be prepared at various bars. There are some expectations like the cotton candy martini at Wonderland, or the Urban Garden (or cucumber or whatever they are serving these days) martini at 150 Central Park. Have fun locating the best bar or drink! M
  24. How does ones get in the bed, especially at the corner with the dresser? M
  25. I did a mock booking this morning that’s how I learned that the balconies were sold out and the price of the interiors. I booked our cruise while with Next Cruise on board harmony. m
