  1. How much was the shuttle from hotel to POM?
  2. Money Bar - no admission fee, good food/drinks/service. Good snorkeling from the shore, but no real beach ( you enter the water via steps). About a $12 can ride from the piers.
  3. LQ East is somewhat isolated, but since you will have a car you are not limited to delivery pizza. Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon gets better reviews.
  4. I have not seen anything like this on these boards. Typical suggestion is one way rentals which will not work for your group. Can you find transportation to MCO airport? Lots of shared shuttle options from MCO to PC.
  5. How many passengers and bags? More than 3 passengers or lots of bags may drive you to a van taxi or UberXL. The drive will take 45-60+ minutes. In a taxi expect to pay $80+ on the meter. UberX or standard Lyft should be closer to $55-60+, but surge pricing may drive the costs above the taxi fare.
  6. For an 11:15 flight you need to be at FLL by about 9:45 - earlier is better with the typical TSA chaos (as mentioned above, TSA precheck helps!). With the cab ride from PE to FLL taking maybe 15 minutes that translates to off the ship. with bags, clear of customs/immigration and ready to load into a taxi before 9:30 - should be easy.
  7. 🤒 Yuck! Thanks for the info.
  8. Most of the college and university spring breaks are over by 3/31.
  9. $42 on the meter means your cab driver took the long way to MIA - should have been $30-35
  10. The ride from PE to MIA will take about an hour - depending upon day of the week and traffic. You can enjoy one last breakfast in the MDR, be among the last to depart the ship about 9:00-9:30 and still have plenty of time to make your flight.
  11. UberXL (doubt you can fit into UberX with 3 kids and bags) from FLL to your hotel will run about $75+ - van taxi meter fare should be about the same. Unless your kids are desperate to ride a train, take the UberXL/Lyft option.
  12. Welcome to the boards! 😎 Less expensive hotels often suggested on this board include the La Quinta East and Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon - both are near MIA and should offer an airport shuttle. Both will offer a shuttle to POM for a fee. La Quinta is very isolated (plan on delivery Chinese or Pizza) while the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon has a local strip mall across the street with grocery, drug and liquor stores, plus fast food and dining options.
  13. There will be a line of taxis waiting at POM - van and SUV cabs are the same fare if you need a larger vehicle for your bags. Uber and Lyft might save you a few dollars - expect to wait 5-10 minutes for your car.
  14. From POM to MIA a taxi will run about $30 on the meter +tip From Port Everglades to MIA a taxi will run about $75-80 +tip - UberX or standard Lyft should be about $50-55, but surge pricing may drive up the fares.
  15. There will be a line of cabs waiting at POM for passengers heading to MIA, etc. Metered fare from POM to MIA will be about $30+tip. You will be off the ship NLT about 9:30 so that they can get ready for the next set of passengers. The cruise line may offer an excursion that will finish at MIA (Hop-on/off bus tours are popular) and they will transport your bags with you to the airport.
  16. Resortpass.com will connect you with hotels/resorts offering day passes to the spa/pool/beach facilities. Tip them to store your bags while you are pampered, swim, relax and grab lunch.
  17. Lots of hotels near the airport ("Westshore") with nearby shopping and dining. I've stayed at the Embassy Suites Westshore and would recommend it - there are also other Hilton and Marriott options. Nicer and also near the airport is Rocky Point. Tampa is not huge - a taxi from airport hotels to the port will run about $25+ and UberX or Lyft will be cheaper.

  19. Doral is west of the MIA airport - a LONG way from POM and downtown Miami, so you might need that Uber card and more.
  20. Since you don't know exactly when you will get off the ship/get bags, and clear customs/immigration it is best to wait until you are clear to request your rides - wait should not be long. For the group of 4 you will need UberXL and if anyone in the group of 3 packs like my wife you will need another UberXL.
  21. Fixed rates went away last year. On the meter expect to pay about $30+tip
  22. You will be fine with SAS. Assume on the shutlte about 9:00-9:30 at the latest (I think they start running at 8:00 or so). The ride from POM to FLL takes about 45+ minutes, depending upon traffic. Plenty of time for the 12:20 flight. UberX or Lyft will cost you about $50+ compared to about $30 for the two of you on SAS - but you can leave earlier, don't need to wait for the van to pick up other passengers, and will enjoy door-to doo service. Is it worth $20+ dollars? Your call.
  23. Ashland is correct - around noon is the smart move.
