  1. I remember having more mature classmates in kindergarten then some people on the Crystal Cruise Critic board. My thought on what some post here is, consider the source. Life is way too short to do any more than just move on. Patty
  2. That’s not a +1, it’s a +100 😎😊😎 Patty
  3. But.....what about the carpaccio??? Patty
  4. Not trying to be too pedantic, the Single cabins are totally forward on the Symphony but on the Serenity there are cabins totally forward on deck 7 that Crystal isn't booking to the public and the Single cabins being booked are after those. No one knows for sure, but the "guess" is the ones not being booked to the public will be used by entertainers, lecturers and other enrichment people.
  5. Are you on Symphony? All of the deck 9 Aquamarine Veranda Suites on Symphony are the Seabreeze Veranda Suites from 2017 and they have large showers, no tubs. Patty
  6. Unfortunately you are not the first person who didn't get the correct information from the phone representatives. It has been both their misunderstanding your question and their not being informed.
  7. Will there be guests on the shake down cruise? Thinking travel agents, friends of Manfredi, and others? It's one thing to see if all the mechanical things work, but assume they need to test the hotel side too. Patty
  8. I'm on 2 Serenity cruises, #2, Lisbon to London this August and the Panama Canal that starts the World Cruise in January. Hoping to get back to Symphony as she's really "home" to me, 75% of my Crystal days. Patty
  9. The prices (daily rate per cabin category) went up when NC first announced fares. If they want to stay in business it was mandatory. They (as all the competition) are using dynamic pricing, not to the extent of the airlines, but don't hold your breath on that not happening!! Patty
  10. It's always important to consider the currency conversion rate. The credit card I use overseas has a very favorable rate that changes constantly, seen if more than one charge is made on the same day, even though it's negligible, out to the 4th or 5th decimal. Also, you must use a card that doesn't have a fee for using it in a foreign currency. I'd think (but sometimes have been surprised!) that anyone who can afford to sail Silversea is this sophisticated when it comes to finances.
  11. It's like that with mountains all over the world. Even when within viewing range, you can see Denali in Alaska only about 30% of the time as the mountain makes its own weather. My first time in interior Alaska my group saw the mountain 3 days in a row, a miracle. Traveling, you have to know that you pay your money and take your chances when it comes to weather.
  12. I'd say it's both, it's the same day, as it's one for you and the other for someone else. Crew is way too busy that day. Patty
  13. AA to DFW only and DL to ATL only. Connections needed.
  14. πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‰πŸ€£ Actually, all cruise lines use flat, not fitted sheets, so they can just tuck-in the sheets to conform to the mattress.
  15. Years ago they went to every other one male then female. If one year they start with an "A" female name then "B" male name, the next year it's an "A" male name then "B" female name and if the hurricane is particularly bad, the name is retired.
  16. Interesting. As you probably know they are hurricanes in the Atlantic into the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and I think the Pacific around California and Mexico. When we get news reports of them in the Pacific around the Philippines, etc., they always call them typhoons.
  17. It's locked!! Whatever will we do?? 😱πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‰ Patty
  18. In the US 2 twins pushed together is more or less (not exactly) the same as a queen.
  19. Dusty got ejected too as he didn’t think it was a balk either and he has a little baseball experience. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜³πŸ™„ And who had a laundry thread on their bingo card ending up on Major League Baseball??
  20. Mentioned the legs as that’s always an issue. I still book coach for domestic flights but have to have business overseas now.
  21. How true and that sentiment goes both ways.
  22. I flew Icelandair once in coach with no issue, but at 5"1", my legs don't take the space yours do! πŸ˜‰ Patty
  23. The owners, Genting, went into bankruptcy. Crystal was just part of the bankrupt enterprise. Actually Crystal itself went into something other than bankruptcy, but for most it's just semantics. The new owners (A&K) bought the 2 ocean ships, the name and the guest list. Other Crystal assets were sold to others. There are those here who will take every chance to bad mouth "Crystal", not accepting that the people running the old Crystal were under the thumb of Genting and couldn't have done a thing about what happened. They will show up to dispute what I have written in one...two...threeπŸ€ͺ Patty P.S. Yes, I am aware this has nothing to do with laundry!
  24. So, you are IAH, the specific airport for Houston is very important. If you were at HOU I'd say 11:38 would be OK about 95% of the time. IAH is almost 70 miles from Galveston. If it all works getting off the ship, getting your transportation, getting to IAH, all the stuff required these days at an airport, then maybe it would work. If it doesn't work, will Jet Blue put you on another flight on another airline to the New York City area at no charge? I wouldn't take the chance, but since over 80% of the flights out of IAH are United, I use them all the time.
