  1. Roy posted the same about Serenity, but it was just turning around in the dock. Maybe the same with Symphony?? Patty
  2. I've done just one Silversea cruise, the Muse this past Dec. I was upgraded from a Vista to a Classic Veranda. Since the cruise was not sold out I assumed that everyone in non balcony suites were upgraded so that they didn't have to provide crew for those cabins.
  3. I feel the need to put in a good word for mayonnaise! Patty
  4. If you'd just preface what you write with "in my opinion" most people would not question you. The problem is that your responses are for the most part, my way or the highway. FYI, my only other "luxury" cruise experience was on the Silver Muse this past Dec. That Silversea ship on that specific cruise couldn't hold a candle to the worst experience I ever had on Crystal. IN MY OPINION
  5. Last night when I couldn't sleep I was looking around the internet. Decided to check Heritage Group. I had no idea that Manfredi was involved in so many different businesses not travel related. One of his businesses is a "luxury" lingerie company. I guess a $500 bra and $250 panties that don't even cover the possibilities handmade from silk and lace could be considered luxury. I'd find them downright uncomfortable! And with at least those ladies here I know personally, all would look hilarious in them! So, I guess Keith is right, luxury is in the eye of the beholder! Patty
  6. Thanks for letting me know this is an either or situation. Crazy me, thinking there could be any number of reasons.🤣 Patty
  7. If you will recall, the OC quit including the name of the restaurant managers on the internet list of crew and entertainers on specific cruises. Does that have anything to do with it, I don't know. Patty
  8. Just so those not as familiar with OC understand, the washer/dryer combo is available on the Symphony ONLY in the 2018 remodel to what they called the Seabreeze Penthouse Suite. No washer/dryer on the Serenity remodel. Patty
  9. I have a question to "some" of you, if anyone other than Keith had posted that "many" Crystal crew members would be returning, would you have even bothered to respond? That's what I thought! 😱🤪🤣 Patty
  10. Even the temperature varies with the weather. As I posted above, I was there on a beautiful day in July and I'd say it was in the 50s. Had the wind not been blowing off the water it would have not really been even cool with the almost 24 hours of sunshine.
  11. You take the gross tons and divide by guest capacity. I don't really understand but know that in this case "ton" is not a unit of weight but a unit of area, but reducing it to cubic feet is not correct. If you look at the same comparison on many mass market ships, it's in the 40s, so the Crystal "closet" is over twice the size.
  12. Remember that in 1956 and 1958 I wore a dress. My 1964 it was Bermuda shorts. The unwritten dress code was changing fast!! Patty
  13. I'd always use an independent agent whose first loyalty is to the client rather than someone employed by the cruise line who knows on which side their bread is buttered.
  14. I did it in July and was there on a gloriously clear day. That being said, it is one of those locations where you pay your money and take your chances as to the weather. It's a real crap shoot.
  15. Anyone here been to Disneyland earlier than the first time I was there? It opened in July, 1955 and I was first there in August, 1956. It's been a while and there's a lot I haven't seen as my visits there were in 1956, 1958 and 1964. 🤪😃🙃 Patty
  16. Agree 100% but you know there are many who post here who insist on their own "facts" and not the real facts.
  17. The Genting that owned Crystal IS NOT still operating. It's in bankruptcy. Like many uberwealthy, the crook who owned the various "Genting" organizations had his investments partitioned so that the left hand had to responsibility for the right hand.
  18. I've always thought that the Viking passenger was someone moving up from Celebrity, Holland America or Princess looking for a smaller ship. I can see regular cruisers from the truly luxury lines doing a Viking with a special itinerary on a rare occasion, but not regularly. Patty
  19. From my experience I'd think that is true. I am getting at least one and sometimes multiple emails each day from Seabourn, a line I've never sailed. Patty
  20. Ah, the church across from where the Mozart would "park" in Vienna! And, the interesting part, it just looks old, it's not much more than 100 years old. Patty
  21. Pointing out that the second gap starts in "Venice" and ends in Athens, so it's doubtful any drydock is involved . I'd think it's for either Manifredi's nearest and dearest or travel agents or some combo thereof. Patty
  22. It's Lone Star, 2 words. What about Shiner?
  23. There is a second 3 day gap. A cruise ends in Venice (well, somewhere nearby) Oct. 6 and there isn't another cruise available to book until Oct. 9 sailing from Athens. Are those 2 gaps for all of Manfredi's nearest and dearest? Patty
  24. The ink/paper set off my allergies and resulted in the worst sneezing fit I've ever had!! That was after scraping my knuckle pulling it out of my mail box because it really didn't fit but the post office had shoved it in anyway!!
  25. If you are including Viking, why didn't you include Oceania and Azamara? None of them are "luxury". Patty P.S. At least you spelled the others correctly which often isn't the case! 🤪
