I average just about 8% of my total invoice price from my TA. -
travel agent on board credit: is it refundable?
wrk2cruise replied to 39august's topic in Celebrity Cruises
OBC from my TA is almost always refundable. There have be 1 or 2 sailings where a small portion of it ($100) wasn't. He explained that it was due to a joint marketing program with Celebrity. I always ask during the booking process. -
Transferring booking number from refundable cruise to new cruise?
wrk2cruise replied to chamima's topic in Celebrity Cruises
And on a non suite booking which is made onboard with reduced deposit my loss is only $200 if I have to cancel (before final payment). Even if I cancel every other cruise I make up for it with the reduced fares. Everyone's risk tolerance is different. DW and I "discuss" this every time I book NRD. -
Still confused re. Classic vs. Premium drink packages

Generally some will post on the main Celebrity board when they find these Flash Sales as well. -
Transferring booking number from refundable cruise to new cruise?
wrk2cruise replied to chamima's topic in Celebrity Cruises
There is no change fee for a refundable deposit reservation. Like others do this all the time, usually change to a NRD when I do. At that point if I were to move it again there would be $100 pp fee. -
Ok was digging through some emails with TA and came across a discussion regarding the BF stuff last year. I booked 2 sailings onboard Nov 16 (well before Thanksgiving) and they already had the Black Friday promo going. When booking a SV I got $200 pp off the cruise fare plus $200 pp OBC with the booking code BFCM OFFER NRD Then when the actual Black Friday came along they offered an extra $50 in OBC with the following T&C "Bonus OBC Offer: Cruise must be booked Nov. 24 – 25, 2022 (the “Offer Period”) and applies to 3-night and longer sailings departing 12/02/22 – 4/30/25. OBC amounts are $50 per stateroom for verandas, Concierge Class, AquaClass® and the Retreat."

Did Celebrity eliminate helipad sailaway on the Equinox?
wrk2cruise replied to peterde's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We were on Millennium Panama Canal cruise (was supposed to be Infinity but a 2 cruise ship swap). We were sailing from Aruba to FLL and had a medical emergency. Sailed several hours to get close enough to Jamacia get within helicopter range. Helicopter flew around the ship and landed on the helipad. Evidently the patient wasn't stable enough so the helicopter shutdown, evidently the patient passed away. About an hour later the helicopter spun up and took off. It was the Jamaican coast guard. I believe the S and E class aren't big enough to land and it's really a hoist area. -
You can call an they will reprocess the Edocs (or check back in a couple of days). Otherwise just ask the porter to tag your bags with the correct room number. They have tags at the pier.

I believe as long as you buy your beverage package while outside the EU (like before you go) you shouldn't be charged VAT on included drinks. I think it also depends on the sailing. If your itinerary doesn't leave the EU then VAT is collected on any onboard purchase. This is nothing new and why many itineraries visit at least 1 non-EU port.

I think this never ending 75% off second passenger based on inflated price "sale" started around this time last year. I think the only thing added for Black Friday last year was maybe an extra $50 OBC. I wouldn't expect anything spectacular or much different this year. In years past they had $25 or $50 deposits but I doubt they will do that now that NRD are really non refundable and they don't want to risk people canceling without much penalty.

Reference Question 14 on this Celebrity FAQ. The answer is you keep your booked version of AI if you win a MoveUpbid https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/CEL_Always_Inlcuded_FAQs.pdf What's being discussed in this snippet is a true upgrade where you are changing your reservation rate which will always go to prevailing rates/perks.

Flights by Celebrity - How can I monitor price drops?
wrk2cruise replied to CruiseMelissa's topic in Celebrity Cruises
If you search for the cruise on the main search screen and instead of pressing the book button, there is a view itinerary button. At the very bottom of that screen there is a link to get a FBC quote without a reservation number. -

What terminal at Port Everglades is the Equinox docked at?
wrk2cruise replied to njgirl's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Like any of the E class ships in Port Everglades the same day. -
This is probably part of the Exciting Deals which came out today (and was on the website last night). These GTY rates have been reported to be enforced as New Bookings Only. So I'm not sure you would be able to "upgrade" to one of these rates. It is a good deal if someone is looking last minute except one way airfare is probably crazy at this point.

online check-in for 2nd leg of B2B - questions
wrk2cruise replied to scrabble6's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Every B2B we have been on in the US and Italy we have had the option to leave anytime during disembarkation and you have to go through immigration with the other debarking passengers. The hitch is you can't re board the ship until general embarkation begins after 11 am. Yes if you want to just get off and re board the ship you have to do that as a group after the ship is zeroed. -
online check-in for 2nd leg of B2B - questions
wrk2cruise replied to scrabble6's topic in Celebrity Cruises
You can leave the ship at any time after debarkation starts which would be well before 9 am. When you return you will have a "transit pass" which will let you bypass the checkin counter. You can re-board the ship anytime after embakation starts and before the all aboard. -
You do have to remember that at this point they are trying to fill every berth so they can maximize onboard purchases. From their perspective if they upgrade you they still have an empty cabin and maybe a less desirable one to unload.
-
Yes this doesn't usually happen as points for the sailing are not earned until the sailing is completed. Must be an inexperienced CC Concierge as most of them seem to be now. But good for the OP
-
I have friends who are onboard with you also in Blu. It's their first time on Celebrity so I'm happy to hear you are off to a good start.

You can be assigned a cabin at any time between now and sailing date. Generally around final payment time some cabins become available so I would keep an eye out then. Captains Club status has no impact on cabin assignment. Captains Club and C&A points are totally separate and you accumulate by sailing on the specific line. They do reciprocate status so which ever program you have the higher status on will reciprocate on the other line up to Elite/Diamond
