  1. We just got ours 2 weeks ago and we set sail this coming Monday. I forget where they came from, but I was getting antsy about it.
  2. I don't like doing laundry onboard the ship except for underwear and socks, too. Those laundry bags are so small and on Wonder it was a small paper bag that could easily rip. I totally get the temperature issues and packing. I'm doing a RT San Francisco to Hawaii. Unfortunately for us it will be mid 50s leaving SF and I've been hearing that it has been cold at sea for the first 2-3 days leaving and coming back.
  3. I just bought new compression cubes that don't need any hose. Those are the ones with the print on them. I don't know if I would call them compression, but rather "expandable" since they have zippers around them so you can fit more in them. I have to say that I was very impressed with them. Perfect for the smaller items. I got them from Amazon, although it looks like they might only be selling the 4 set instead of the 6 set that I purchased now. Here are links to both. 4 Set Compression Packing Cubes 6 Set Compression Packing Cubes They're very lightweight, but they zipped up nicely and felt pretty good. They aren't as sturdy as my Eagle Creeks (the black and purple ones below). My shoe bags were from Weight Watchers and they are the best shoe bags I've ever owned.
  4. Yes, but remember that I'm flying in a few days ahead of time as well as flying home the day after the cruise. I pack 2 sparkly shirts for our formal nights and 3-4 dressier shirts for dinner that I alternate during the cruise. I pack 2 pairs of slacks for dinner and evening activities as well as a pair of chiffon pants for the formal nights.
  5. Oh Deb I'm sooooo envious of you right now! Have a fantastic time and good for you!
  6. I just finished packing for a 15 night RT SF to Hawaii cruise over the weekend. It's pretty similar to what I packed for the 2022 WB Wonder TA last fall. Here's what my packing looks like:
  7. It is open for lunch and it's nice and quiet up there compared to the craziness on the Royal Promenade and the Windjammer. We had the soup and salad for lunch since we didn't want anything too heavy and it was really nice.
  8. We used Get Your Guide tours last year when we were in Barcelona for 3 days prior to our WB TA on Wonder of the Seas. We did the 3 hour La Sagrada Familia tour and they took groups of 2. Our tour group had 4 or 5 "pairs" of folks and it was fantastic. Once the tour was done we were able to stay at the church longer to explore more. We would've but we did the tour the day we arrived in Barcelona and we were really tired at that point and just wanted to get back to the hotel. Here's the link to the tour we did: Get Your Guide - Sagrada Familia Skip-The-Ticket Line Guided Tour: https://www.getyourguide.com/barcelona-l45/sagrada-familia-skip-the-ticket-line-guided-tour-ticket-t288805/ Here's the video I made of the tour: We were in Barcelona for 3 days before our cruise and we found most shops were open. Best souvenirs were at the tourist office on Las Ramblas across and down the street from La Boqueria. We had no problems during our time there, but please do be careful of pickpockets. I would definitely recommend taking a cab to get from the ship to the church (and back to the church, just make sure you ask the cabbies how much the fare is before you go) should you decide to do this tour. And if there's one thing to visit in Barcelona, it is La Sagrada Familia. Good luck and enjoy your cruise!
  9. New England is downright balmy compared to California right now, especially those of us living in southern New England.
  10. I didn't do any of them, but that one at the beginning with the cows had me intrigued only because I like cows ;o))) I didn't recognize any of them either which was why I wanted to share them. There was a lot of things in Chinese since the ship was originally planned for the Chinese market.
  11. Then Starlink will be awesome. Again, whatever we had it was fantastic.
  12. We had 1832, too! It was a fantastic cabin, but we had soot for the WB TA last fall. This was the first time in all my years of cruising that there has been soot on my balcony. It was so incredibly disappointing. As for the elevators, we were told to scan our SeaPass card next to the elevator banks in order to "call" an elevator for the 17 and 18th floors. Sometimes we had to wait a few runs, but we did get it.
  13. Not sure what we had on Wonder for the Fall 2022 WB TA, but it was fantastic. There were a few dropped signals at times, but we always got it back fast. We were very happy.
  14. Under what section of the app will the Health Questionnaire be located? This is my first time using the app. Got our boarding time okay. Now just waiting to get the medallion in the mail. 19 days and counting!
  15. Ugh. I was hoping to leave my jacket at my mom's house prior to boarding the ship. This is one of the reasons why I dislike cruising this time of year. Bundle up for flights leaving/arriving Boston, but now to have to bundle up for leaving SF is just sad. Heavy sigh...
  16. I tested positive for Covid after our RCI TA on Wonder of the Seas last fall (as did a lot of other CCers on the cruise). We stayed in our cabin for most of the cruise (we had an Owners Suite so it wasn't a burden for us) since we saw most people not wearing masks around the ship. We did eat all of our meals outside of our cabin, so I'm pretty sure that's how we contracted it. We never left our cabin without our masks on otherwise. It will be interesting to see what happens in a few weeks time when we sail on Royal Princess to Hawaii. I'm not staying in my cabin this time, but I will still be masking up. Covid sucks, but I would rather test positive after the cruise than during the cruise.
  17. Ours opened at 1 for the Wonder WB TA in late October.
  18. Thanks for sharing! How many people did you have in this cabin? We stayed in an Owners Suite on Wonder of the Seas and it was divine. We had 2 adults in this cabin, but you could put more in the living room on the sofa bed. Ship - Wonder of the Seas Deck - 18 Stateroom # - 1832 Stateroom Category – Owners Suite Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes. We never heard our neighbors to the left. The only time we heard the folks on the right was if both of us were out on our deck. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Unobstructed. We did get a lot of the ship exhaust pouring over the side of the ship at times, so we did have a soot issue (first time I've ever had that issue) Balcony Size? Balcony is massive with 1 lounger, 1 chair with ottoman and a table with chairs Was wind a problem? - Not unless it was coming directly at us If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Yes Any specific problems with this cabin? - The shower leaked water all over the floor. We always had to put towels down in front of the shower door to mop up the excess. Any other comments? - We LOVED our cabin. It was enormous and we spent a lot of time in it during the westbound transatlantic since we were concerned about Covid. We never felt confined and thought it was a great layout. The beds were extremely comfortable as was the sofa. Tons of storage (there are 4 full length closets in this cabin including a load of shelving throughout the cabin). I show our cabin during our Cruise Critic Cabin Crawl in this video from 9:01-11:53.
  19. Me too! I was so bummed I didn't have my phone to catch some video of him.
  20. I'm ready to book the Fall 2025 Allure TA the moment it opens for booking (which I know won't be for some time). Might just recycle the canceled Fall 2020 Allure TA spreadsheet ;o)))
  21. Just tell your cabin steward when you get access to your cabin. This happens to us all the time. We get there and it's one queen size bed. The steward comes around to check on you when you access your cabin and you simply ask them to split the bed into two beds. Easy peasy and I've never had any trouble getting it done. Even though we always ask when we make our reservation to have 2 beds (and it shows as 2 beds on our reservation paperwork) they still always make it as 1 bed. So calling RCI is pretty much pointless in our book.
  22. Johnny Rockets was fantastic for breakfast. The food was piping hot and the service was great. You can definitely check the app to see the offerings. It's also free for breakfast and no reservations are necessary. Wish we had dined there more often since the WJ and MDR often had cool/cold food.
  23. I just posted a video on my YouTube channel where I tried to show as many of the slot machines on Wonder since they looked so different from others I've seen on other ships (we sailed on the WB TA). If you're interested in the slots on Wonder, here's the link:
