  1. Thanks for this! I'm on the fence for this area, we love the Havana cabanas but not sure how I feel booking this area - appreciate your tour and I'll wait and see how you like it🙃
  2. I suggest longer cruises. This seemed way to short.
  3. I have no idea how you are going to survive on cruise ship food.
  4. Tell them you are still hungry and see what happens.
  5. I am happily following!!! Hope this trip is all you dreamed of.
  6. I usually cruise with hubby, but started doing some solo in the last couple years. First time I worried how I would handle it... turns out, absolutely loved it. If you feel like being social, its very easy to strike up a conversation with those around you. Made some acquaintances and planned a couple dinners together as well. Also easy to have some peaceful quiet time if that's what you want. It's nice not to have to negotiate any detail, just do what you feel like doing at the time. Have an awesome time.
  7. Hmm. maybe the burgers were sad? but that's not what I remember prior to Guys. I recall not only hamburgers, but you could also have chicken or steak sandwich. And I miss the tortilla chips and cheese/chili.
  8. There is some tasty Gelato available as well... depending on ship, either Java Blue or Lido Buffet
  9. I am just back from a cruise that stopped in HMC - and we did have a cabana at the old pricing. The day of our stop, there were still cabanas available that day, but no villas. Also had a port stop in Amber cove. The poolside cabanas were sold out, but the over the water and the hillside cabanas were still available on the day of our stop. Our cabin was aft and had a direct view to the over the water cabanas - only three were occupied. Half Moon Cay used to be one of our favorite places and if I had a choice of itineraries where one had HMC that would be the one I chose. That's not the way I feel anymore after my last two visits (11/22 and 5/23). The ships are now so big that there are just too many people... going to the beach with 3908 of my new friends just isn't the same as it once was. Still beautiful, but oh so very crowded. The beach has eroded a bit as well, leaving even less space for the lounge chairs.
  10. Thanks so much for doing this!! Had to catch up the last week because I went on my own cruise. Welcome home, and watch for upcoming taco alerts.
  11. You are NOT complaining a lot. Please continue. You are on an adventure I could never manage, and I appreciate you taking me along.
  12. We leave this weekend and out of curiosity I checked villa/cabana availability. We reserved a cabana at HMC at the previous pricing and both the cabanas and villas are sold out, I'm guessing also at previous pricing. The cabanas at Amber cove, which also went way up in price, are still showing available at higher prices. Definitely not normal to see that within hours of embarkation.

  14. Hopefully it is a matter of getting the proper documentation from your doctor. We had to cancel once, the day before our cruise as DH had to have emergency surgery the day of embarkation. His surgeon was also going on a cruise the day after and he was extremely cooperative with the documentation and signatures we needed as he totally understood the situation. It still took a bit of time with the insurance company but we did get the reimbursement for everything that wasn't reimbursed by the cruise line (taxes, port fees, etc.)
  15. Carnival's insurance includes cancel for ANY reason, so canceling for anything pre-existing is not an issue. They are light on the actual medical coverage though.
  16. Actually for us older folks it's the best deal you can get price wise - very hard to beat since it doesn't take age into account, only price of cruise fare.
  17. Been a long time since I've seen the "Capers" - thanks for the memories!
