  1. That's what I thought - despite the fact that the casino reservation folks say that could never happen! Hope their word is good and they are able to get back everything that you pre-booked. What a mess.
  2. I sent a request in on August 5th for a December cruise booked through Princess as it involved a free cabin from the casino. Yesterday (August 15) I got a booking confirmation from Princess which included the Shareholder OBC and it was shown in the Payments section of the Cruise Personalizer as well. I sent one in for an October cruise on Sunday that I booked through our TA. We shall see how long that one takes and if we get any kind of notification about it. We never had in the past but I suspect they might only send those booking confirmation notices out to those who book direct.
  3. Did you book a casino cruise by any chance? If so, either they didn't pay their portion or the notice is a mistake. Is the cruise still shown in your cruise personalizer and in the Medallion app? Please let us know what happens and I wish you the best!
  4. Exactly what my friend is going through. At one point they gave her a different email address (adding a 1) and password. She logged in the next day and she was shown as "Mr." with her husband's birthday instead of her's and with a location of the Phillipines. She was told by one rep to change it herself which she can't. And Princess didn't get that using a dummy email address would mean that my friend wouldn't get communications from Princess. This despite the fact that she gave them an alternate, legitimate email address to use. It's a giant mess.
  5. If you want to get the attention of a member just use the @ sign and start typing their user name. You’ll see a list of members pop up and you can select the one you want from the list. Other than that there’s no way to contact folks unless they provide their email address.
  6. You are one of many people who have had this problem recently and I'm not sure any have been resolved. The thread is here: A good friend is experiencing this too. She and her husband used the same email address as their log in ID. A year ago when the new Medallion app rolled out and the check in function was added to the app apparently each person had to have their own email address. At that point she got the account missing info error but her husband's account worked. What was weird is that her account seemed to magically right itself until about a month ago. Since then she has called Princess multiple times spending over 8 hours on the phone, enduring hang-ups and promises of callbacks that never came, most recently from a very nice lady from Customer Solutions who admitted it's a bad glitch in their system and requires IT intervention. At this point she's giving it a rest but since her husband's account is working and her FCCs are identical to his, she can tell her balance by checking his account. She can also get into their booked cruise by inputting the booking number and filling in the other fields. I don't know if Princess is working on a solution behind the scenes but as far as I know the only option is to call them and hope you get someone who can actually fix it. Others have written to Princess executives but I haven't heard that anyone has had any luck with that route yet.
  7. You can also click the three dots next to the post and report it.
  8. It didn't mention it because there are only two ships in port when you are scheduled to be in Skagway and you will dock at the Ore dock, more convenient to town. The article only mentioned the ships that would be diverted from Skagway.
  9. Will add to the comments about the buffet being decent, completely open, the resumption of theme nights (noted in the Patter daily) AND the resumption of grilled veggies / taco and nacho fixins' in the bistro part of the buffet at lunchtime. We skipped the MDR most nights and had dinners at the buffet.
  10. Just out of curiosity did you get there between noon and 1? I've read about a lot of issues with long lines for those who arrived then. For our mid-July cruise we got there before 10:30 and were onboard before 11 with minimal time spent in lines. And I haven't seen any reports of anyone who arrived before noon experiencing long lines which is why I was curious if your experience fit the later arrival pattern.
  11. Yes I have heard a story about this happening in France too a few months. Really disgusting how opportunistic some people in the testing field have gotten, and how it's affected so many others who trust the system.
  12. I'm thinking that by sail date they meant the date that the ships mentioned would be making a port stop in Skagway. Pretty sloppy of them but that interpretation makes sense.
  13. We were in CC traveling with friends who weren't in CC earlier this year. We did end up add them as part of our traveling party and they made reservations. We did eat breakfast in CC and the Restaurant Manager asked us the first morning why he didn't see us at dinner on embarkation night. We told him we were traveling with friends and he told us to just come with our friends when we wished to the CC hostess desk and that we would be seated in an area adjacent to CC. We also did the latter pre-app / Covid. If your friends aren't able to get acceptable times when they are able to make reservations, it's worth a try to ask the CC Restaurant Manager if he can help you.
  14. Thanks for posting. I had read that the captain on Discovery announced earlier this week that they would be stopping at Skagway after all tomorrow. One of the three other scheduled ships must not be able to make it but we will need to wait to see how this happens.
  15. Interesting that Customer Solutions can be reached by calling the published number for en route issues. Will have to remember that.
  16. The timing of the announcement stinks too. They did it late in the day yesterday then rolled out bookings for a whole slew of cruises for the 2023/24 season this morning. Guessing the phone hold times will be even more of a nightmare than usual.
  17. I see the new 32 day cruises as well as the newly released cruises from Galveston and LA. Had to be logged in to see them.
  18. I'm wondering if that is only part of the issue. I've listened in on some of the Princess marketing webinars with TAs and on more than one occasion the Princess folks were urging TAs to book their clients on San Diego cruises since there was lots of availability. So maybe demand wasn't enough to keep these early cruises. There are still more later cruises from San Diego so we shall see,
  19. The cabin size is about the same but the Riviera balcony is much wider than the one on Aloha deck. I'd go with the one on Riviera.
  20. Actually the description says that you transfer to another boat and land on the sand. We've been all over the Caribbean but have never been to Tortola so I've been looking at excursions and this does look interesting. https://www.princess.com/cruise-excursions/tortola-british-virgin-islands-excursions/jost-van-dyke-island-beach-break-and-scenic-cruise?portCode=TOV&portDate=12132022
  21. I somehow missed that there was another slide on Friday that did damage to one of the shipping crates used to protect pedestrians. https://thepointsguy.com/news/skagway-port-rockslides/
  22. Very interesting. I just checked the port schedule and 4 ships are supposed to be in port with the Royal at the closed dock. Hope you report back to let us know which ships are in port as it does seem like another ship cancelled their port stop in Skagway for this to happen.
  23. We paid less than $20 for the two of us in early June but then an almost tropical storm had just blown through and Fort Lauderdale had tons of flooding. It was closer to $15 in February. So it will vary a little but still less than the cost of a transfer and so much easier to not have to wait.
