We had a choice between booking the Jubilee or Vista out of Galveston next year and our group chose Vista because of the Havana Area being so much bigger. We were worried about finding seating and some of our group like to use the pool.
Megan, love your reviews. I am not one that likes to plan out my ship activities in advance as I like to wing it. Do you have to make reservations in advance for the shows? Is it possible to make them once on the ship?
We chose sailing on the Vista instead of the Jubilee because of the Havana area on Vista. After reading reviews of the Havana area on the side most of my group did not want to chance it being too crowded or too small. Havana on Vista class ship is the best.
I love Havana. In fact if we have a choice between a ship with Havana or without we will take the Havana cruise. My first Havana Cruise was the Havana Cabana. It was great but we really didn't spend as much time on the Cabana as we thought. So the next cruise we did Havana inside room. It was great. We we just go outside to the Havana area during the day and there was always plenty of loungers or chairs. Bar service was great also.
I have had drinks on us in the casino on my 4 cruises and have not any problem getting service for a drink. I mostly order water. I do tip $1 per drink even for water. After a day or 2 the server will seek me out.
Just remember, if the second person in the cabin wants cheers, they will have to purchase on board. You cannot pre-purchase prior to cruise. Also, no requirement for second person to purchase.
For the slot machine you can download money from your sail and sign account directly to the machine at no charge. At the tables they charge 2 or 3% fee for chips.
I never knew we could order half portions. I will definitely start ordering half portions from now on. This way I don't have to explain why I didn't eat all my dinner.
