  1. We had Hirsch in Bay Ridge, Jahn's on 86th in Bath Beach w the Kitchen Sink. Now near the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Carroll Gardens is the Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Shop. They make their own Ice Creams, Malt, Syrups and use the Old Blue Seltzer Bottles sometimes for fun. Real old Ice Cream Shop. Egg Creams too! Sundaes to die for.... Floats and Soda... Ice Cream Heaven... Brooklyn is Alive....
  2. Maybe size she was produced at those times compared to Visita Class now. Saw a friends pix PG on QE....MUCH different than our PG QM2....much different.. Ours last trip cabin reminded us of a QE2 QG suite on QM2. PG on QM2 is noted as Suite on all documents we have.
  3. Being the son of a retired chef and almost candidate to the CIA, the kitchen is my playground and food products are my toys or ingredients of Art. Funny as can be, I don't mind a table at a kitchen door. I know many that tells me that people eat with their eyes and what they see on the plate. Happy they are.
  4. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...... We know where you are coming from. We are also challenged with PG but fell in love this past sailing. But enjoyed BC several times in the past. But PG is the future bookings.. Not really QG though we were on the QE2 but in these days of cuisine, not attracted to the Menus. As DW said, If not attracted to choices, we can downgrade requests to PG style. QE2 QG much different with availability of these days products. We did granted appreciate the extra space in PG but QG would be too much. We don't entertain. So PG just right. We also don't like the closeness in QG. Tables to close as PG more spread out. But try this and see. But if you would like QG experience but less, PG way to go. After BC which is nice, you will see PG to be the midpoint to satisfy. This is my honest opinion. But enjoy!
  5. Unfortunately not being a QG type passenger, we like the level of dining btw PG and BC. Also not really attracted to QG Menus and style of food preparations. If ever upgraded would be a challenge to QG. Was much better on the QE2 in the old days. Not same cuisine influence like now a days.
  6. We had no problem last sailing. Out of 14 days our PG Headwaiter and MaitreD accomplished our special requests about at dinner 6 times. It's your approach and develop repor with them.
  7. Kettles are more crispy but hold the salt more. Also can retain a bit of oil which is taste.
  8. We too were on board a NE/CANADA sailing this past September and lost 1 port visit that was damaged by hurricane. That produced an extra day at sea. Also limited access to promenade deck for walking due to rain and wind. QM2 took it extremely well with stable walking in the Queen. Really no rolling.
  9. We were there in the past but our ship always left at 6PM.. Sorry... Maybe you can look on there website to days or evening activities on the 4th.
  10. Unfortunately our Chips were kettle style and very well accompanied the Club Sandwich we had in PG.. we even asked for more...
  11. We enjoy Concierge Lounge when you don't want to deal with the Masses at the other locations. At different times of the day there are different levels of snacks available. A pleasure to have a quieter Tea Time in the Concierge Lounge. We were happy with the the limited choices that satisfied us at the time. But still enjoyed the Famous Scones, Preserves and Clotted Cream. Concierge Lounge is not visible to the outside but more imitate and quieter location with good WiFi. Our Concierge Henrietta was very helpful and knowledgeable with all our requires and troubleshooting. So there is other personal opinions out there I personally may not agree with but to each is own.
  12. Cunard, we prefer QM2, is an experience we always look forward to Book Princess Grill. Different style sailing not cruising. Wonderful when the clock passes 6PM on board especially on Gala Nights.
  13. Got the Ice Cream Got the Syrup Got the Malted Powder Of Course the Milk Anytime, all year round...
  14. Arnold Palmer - Half Lemonade/Half Ice Tea equal portions. Never tried it till several years ago and really enjoy it with certain foods.
  15. If the meat is lightly packed as it should, making it lighter, we enjoy Caramelized Vidalia Onions. Maybe if needed, like use of Maldon Sea Salt.
  16. As I said before, under certain conditions and civilizatied, everyone could enjoy the same facilities and pleasure. Everyone needs to be considerate to each. Not think the ship is theirs alone.
  17. New to me... Always saw passengers making it easy with mobile convenience to dock side
  18. Definitely Agree... We did three days on board QM2. What a beautiful site each morning seeing Quebec out our window and site each evening out our cabin on the Balcony.
  19. Not to worry, at that time, Plenty of Space, All spaces desirable, it worked. Plenty of space with enough chairs. Never heard anyone complaining about this. All were happy and satisfied. On the QM2 no problem on Sun Deck....
  20. WOW...Didn't think this practice still exists.... Long time since heard last time someone mentioning this. I there was a lot of trouble on the Rotterdam in the early 80's. People would leave their items on the chairs and MIA. But the Deck Staff after a certain amount of time would roll the personal items up in a towel and take it back to there deck. Passengers would question the staff where is their items are and they were presented with them back. Making the space available. I would see items on chairs as early as 7-730 during my early walk. The best system we enjoyed was on the QE2. You would go to the Sun Deck, select a chair to your liking and it would be tagged with you name for the entire time sailing. You even had the Deck Staff watch you to see that you would not get too burnt maybe falling asleep. Also they would offer a beverage like water to hydrate. Yes, there was a minor on board charge but it did work and very well accepted. The over all thought to this subject is the consideration to one and another being on vacation and sharing the ship with due politeness. I know we see the domaining of passengers on Shore Excursions, Tour Buses, Clubs/Bar/Discos/Showrooms. Holding seats for others to come with those entering and looking for space presently. Even the staff makes announcements before a show to not hold seats for those not there yet out of consideration.
  21. Zimne Nogi Polish Jellied Pigs Feet Is the Polish version of the dish. Alway looks like Head Cheese in a cube.
