  1. Club O2 might need to know about a medical condition if it might pop up while the kid is there, but I don't think they can administer medicine.
  2. Yes, I would hope so as well but that information doesn't need to be shared with Carnival. (I would also hope that a physician is consulted to ensure they are fit enough to travel.)
  3. My post that you quoted was talking about rules, but the same thing applies just as equally to a law- people see it not being enforced which leads them to violate the law as well. The non-enforcement encourages the behavior. Most people find these things to be stupid but to me that is irrelevant.
  4. I've never had Carnival or any other line inquire about what medicines we may be taking. If she doesn't need special assistance then I see no reason at all to even tell Carnival anything (and even if she needed assistance I don't believe it is necessary to provide a lot of details then, just that passenger such and such needs this type of assistance).
  5. It is the gamut of what could be considered laws, rules, regulations, and procedures. Monkey see, monkey do. And yes, there are some people who do things out of ignorance, but I was always taught ignorance of the law is no excuse.
  6. I don't gamble a lot, I'll throw $20 to $100 in a slot machine once a cruise. The number of points that I get from that is really low. My conclusion is that it takes both time and money to get to the number of points necessary to receive anything significant in return. I don't want to spend a significant amount of either resource in the casino because there is too much other stuff to do.
  7. I didn't buy that many gift cards to worry about it, used them to pay for Cheers and our excursions and the balance I used to purchase Cruise Cash. DW is unaware of the term "unused Cruise Cash", so I have no worries in that regard. Just one less thing I have to do once I board. There is no one size fits all answer and since it's personal choice no real wrong answer, either. Just because I do something differently than someone else it doesn't make either one of us wrong.
  8. I think post 18 adequately demonstrates that such conveyances can be annoyances in other areas as well.
  9. And then there is a percentage of people who are simply following the crowd- they see a rule not being enforced and just follow suit, so non-enforcement ends up re-enforcing rule breaking behavior.
  10. This procedure has been in use since before I started sailing with Carnival in 2012. I doubt they are going to change it. (And if they do start charging a transaction fee it's more likely than not because they recognize an untapped source of revenue.)
  11. A little clarification- your sail and sign may be used in the casino in the machines, you use it to set up you player bank. Additional tips for drinks may be added directly to the slip and that goes on your sail and sign. If you know the crew member's name and department you can give them an extra tip on your sail and sign by going to guest services.
  12. The sail and sign card is all that you need- opens your cabin and may be used for any purchase at any venue onboard.
  13. And in the OP's case it wasn't a problem for their closed loop cruise, as they said in post 7. All travel isn't created equally and what one needs for international air travel is different than what one needs for other forms of travel.
  14. I am not sure what ships are in which class (except the ones that I served on in the Navy) but can confirm that on Anthem of the Seas to enter the buffet area you had to walk through an area with sinks on either side of the hallway. A crew member directed everyone going in to pass through there and the hallway was reserved for those exiting. I don't generally people watch in those situations but am fairly certain that a number of folks just walked past the sinks.
  15. I do get your point, but they can't claim ignorance if something goes south with their pregnancy. The result for them is the same. (And of course one would hope that they would at least ask their provider about whether they should cruise or not, but I'm sure that doesn't happen all of the time.)
  16. All passengers agree to the terms and conditions whether they've read them or not.
  17. You can't ask the medical doctor but you can certainly as the patient, who may choose not to answer (and of course in this context that may raise issues). If someone exceeds the guideline and has issues onboard they would not have any legal recourse to anything since they violated the rule.
  18. To your last comment our last balcony cabin was only a couple of doors away from the elevator area, which was open to the Atrium below. The Atrium could get very noisy at night (mostly music) but the crew always closed the fire doors which took care of the noise issue. But if one books a cabin in the middle of three passenger decks and chooses a cabin in between the elevators it should be nice and quiet.
  19. Society overall is very lax at rule following and since the members of the society cruise that tendency naturally follows them.
  20. https://www.polandspring.com/ Bottled spring water and it is very similar to other brands of bottled spring water.
  21. There should be water glasses in the cabin.
  22. Yes, having a passport can sometimes get you through Customs quicker when returning from a cruise but we're only talking minutes, not hours and I would be loathe to spend that kind of money only for that limited benefit. I realize that the timing affected this next statement but when we disembarked in NOLA last year DW and I went through the passport line and our travel companions went through the BC line. We all emerged on the other side at the same time.
  23. I could tell from your first response that the post didn't upset you and I am certain that all of this crossed your mind in the months leading up to the cruise. I do applaud you for your idea of using protective sheets for each birth certificate, that never occurred to me back in the day when we used them for cruising.
  24. Great info to have, I've never thought of this as a food option when the MDR is open.
  25. Fine print. "Complimentary drink may be specialty coffee, soda or alcoholic beverage with a value no greater than $10.00 + gratuity. Redeemable at any bar on the last evening of the cruise after 5 p.m. Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed by adults of applicable legal drinking age." (Maybe it's been raised to $11 though.)
