  1. I still can't believe how tacky this is of Princess...even some pretty one-horse town bars now list the brand of the wine. SMH So, has anyone seen a report from Vines lately? I mean, seriously, could you really call yourself a Wine Bar if your menu gave a choice of Red or White? Sheesh.
  2. If you and DH are booking with the Plus package and Auntie would not be.....you might want to be in the same cabin with DH when booking and put Auntie in a separate cabin, regardless of what it ends up to be on board....
  3. In the past, you could only order one drink at a time or you would be charged for the 2nd one. However, there have been reports from people on recent cruises that they are able to order multiple drinks at a time in their cabin and using the drink package and just having the drink package tally the number of drinks. I have heard the number as 2 or 3. I don't know if this is something that is only true if you are in your cabin?
  4. Kinda. As I understand it....disclaimer....not on a ship until August.... You "should" be able to log onto the app on your phone as DH, order your drink and log off. Then DW can log onto the app on same phone, order a drink and log off. The server will be looking for each person whose logon ordered, and 'charge' that logon and they find you using the medallion.
  5. Wow. This is new to me. How ridiculous. That is just asking for Customers to be ticked when they don't understand this. Whatever are they thinking?
  6. Congratulations! Is this cash or OBC and if OBC---refundable or not? Just curious.
  7. We're booked on Enchanted in January and I saw these cabins and decided to book one. They are farther forward than I normally like to book, but they looked really interesting! Thanks for all the insight and to OP for starting the post. Makes me think I made a good decision.
  8. The post listed below is being done by someone who just got off the Emerald. He has posted Patters and the Embarkation Day Patter is in Post #109. It appears that the dining rooms are NOT open at embarkation....unless I am mis-reading it:
  9. LOTS of information on the British Isles Port of Calls Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/ Welcome to Cruise Critic!
  10. Gratuities for drinks are included in the Plus package, so no, you do not need to pay anything extra. Some people like to give additional gratuities, so this often becomes a common discussion on Cruise Critic.....
  11. This poster indicated there was going to be one on the Crown July 16. @Dee_Jay .....Inquiring minds want to know.....did they have the Pub Lunch?
  12. I generally don't care or notice much what others wear. However, I draw the line at the people I see barefoot (!) walking in the buffet! Even if you are just walking through, you really need some kind of foot apparel----and open toes are fine.....just SOMETHING!
  13. Pre-covid, it was rare that anything was in the mini-bar any more...that might be different in suites. The only beverage we had seen in the room were large bottles of water and they have a tag on them indicating they aren't included. Do note that with the Medallion system, you can have beverages delivered to your room and if you have a drinks package, this will be at no charge. (Some people tip on this delivery and some don't.)
  14. The reason these questions keep coming up is due to Princess inconsistency. On the website, it uses Days. On the Medallion app it uses Hours. I have also seen inconsistencies on the website in different parts of the website. If Princess wants to make this it easier for it's guests, it would be really nice if they did some proof-reading on the documentation they produce. 🙄
  15. I agree....kind of.... We long ago moved to Anytime dining and love it. However, recently we went on our first cruise with young grandkids and their parents. We ended up on Carnival due to lots of Princess cancellations, but we booked Traditional Early dining. With young kids, it was easier to always book the same time and early. We are thinking of Princess next time with the same group and I think we will be fine with using the app, but I can see that others might really want to be sure they have the same servers each evening in this situation. Another situation I have seen people discuss is that they have a larger group---say 10 people and want to sit at the same table and I don't think the app accomodates that. I think the app could still work with some tweaks to accomodate those who want Traditional Early dining, but whether Princess will ever get it right is questionable.
  16. Sheesh. Why do you have a TA if she/he tells you times have changed, but doesn't tell you what they are??? That is WHY you have a TA. Ask them to please do their job.....
  17. "You agree that if at any time within fourteen (14) days prior to embarkation, You test positive for COVID-19, exhibit signs or symptoms of COVID-19..." Hmm...I never noticed this before. So, if you test positive 11 days prior, you are fine with the at least 10 days past the infection, but you don't fit the within 14 days......These 2 things seem a bit contradictory to me....
  18. Were they able to get their Medallion set up? Does it have a message at the top for you and for them that indicates you have a free dining credit? They didn't try and schedule themselves and already use it did they? Do you have the current version of the app? Just trying the usual suspects.... 🙂 If none of that works, then maybe you could just call Princess and see if a Rep can do it for you? There have been some reports about better wait times than there were previously. Also, I have found if you call them as soon as they open in the morning 6 AM Pacific Time, it often isn't as busy. Good Luck!
  19. The winner was the one everyone saw in the hallway for the entire cruise..... ....constantly opening the door to get yet another entry.....
  20. Our FAVORITE place to book cabins is on the Grand Class ships is Deck 14 - Riviera in the Aft section. We book balcony cabins. We've never had a problem with noise from the Cafe Caribe just above us. We LOVE the easy access to the Terrace Pool and the Outriggers Bar.
  21. Mine is October 1st. Mostly because their Cruise with Confidence ends on September 30th.... And since I cruise in August, I would LOVE for both of us to be wrong! 😜
  22. Back to the topic at hand.... Virgin Voyages Eliminates Pre-Cruise testing---including in the U.S.! https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/27889-virgin-voyages-eliminates-pre-embarkation-covid-19-testing-for-cruises.html c'mon Princess...... 😁
  23. LOL I have gone throught this same thought process.....don't want to say like, but want to acknowledge correctness. That's when I use the trophy instead (even though the pop-up description says that means 'thanks').
  24. We'll be on the Ruby in October, so enjoying your review. Your picture-taking skill is exemplary! So often, the photos people take of the Patters are hard to read. Yours are SOOOOO very clear!!! Thanks!
  25. My 'guess' is the cruise lines will follow the data. There are 3 Holland America cruises happening now with no pre-cruise testing required. When those are finished, they will see if the number of covid cases on those ships is significantly higher than cases on similar cruises where pre-cruise testing was required. If not, they might start rolling out no pre-cruise testing. If they find a significant increase, they might leave it as it is for a while. Only a guess.....
