  1. Direct from Celebrity's Website Formal Night gets a modern reboot. Say goodbye to Formal Night, and hello to Evening Chic. It’s your time to shine—your way. Get glamorous. Get chic. Be sophisticated. Now, on up to two nights on every cruise, Evening Chic activities have been introduced, and Evening Chic attire has replaced Formal attire. While dressier than Smart Casual, Evening Chic is intended to be less dressy than Formal attire. Women should feel comfortable wearing: A cocktail dress Skirt, pants or designer jeans with an elegant top Men should feel comfortable wearing: Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt or sweater Optional sport coat or blazer Evening Chic means that you can get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way. If you would like to still wear a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you absolutely should. All cruises that are 7 nights or longer will feature two Evening Chic nights. Any cruise 6-nights or shorter will feature one Evening Chic night. All other nights of the cruise will feature Smart Casual attire. Celebrity Xpedition will continue to feature casual attire for the entire cruise. Smart Casual attire can be enjoyed every other night of your cruise. Women should feel comfortable wearing: Skirt, pants or jeans with a casual top Men should feel comfortable wearing: Pants or jeans with a short sleeve sport shirt. Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. The dress code will be enforced at all restaurants. And guests are asked to follow the Smart Casual or Evening Chic dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. The daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening.
  2. My cruise is next Friday and still don't have Edocs or luggage tags available to print. Should I panic yet?
  3. I booked my cruise with X directly and wish I hadn't. Any questions or problems I had they are impossible sometimes to get hold of and when you do it is outsourced overseas. You have up to 30 days to transfer to a TA, but look at your OBC and ask the TA if they can keep that amount or increase it. If your OBC drops, think about how much that OBC is worth. I transfered from another cruise line to a TA and lost $50 in OBC. That was worth the change for me.
  4. I am getting all my receipts together for my cruise next week. What code am I looking for on celebrity cruises receipts that shows I am on the premium beverage package? I want to get it all sorted out before I get to the port.
  5. Yup, they know you are a trapped passenger. Not like you can swim to the nearest Circle K for snacks and they know it.
  6. The main difference is Florida is on the east coast, thus a shorter flight for you and LA is on the west coast and about an 11 hour flight from LHR. Mexico ports are, in my opinion, meh. Been there done that. Our last cruise to the Riviera was on HAL and we stayed on the ship to relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere and pool availability. I will say to be extra cautious in Mexico. I strongly suggest looking at shore excursions. There was a time we used to wander around the ports, but no longer. We only got off in Mazatlan to go to Wal Mart across the street.
  7. I must remember to breath. Logged into X's website and I have 25 days to go. Actually 23. Two days before staying at LAX airport at the Sheraton. Next day fly in the pointy end on Delta on a 6 AM flight and spend the night at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel with dinner at Pier 66 Next day board our cruise with an 11:30 board time. Do I dare arrive at the port at 10:30 anticipating earlier boarding?
  8. There are certain markets I would get an infinite veranda. We did a December cruise on RCCL Tampa to the Caribbean and we hardly used the balcony. I think only once when we were in cooler temperatures in Tampa. The next morning we were out at sea and it was hot as hades and humid. We could only stand to be on it for a minute or two. While you don't get the nice fresh air a balcony offers, think of it as an air conditioned balcony.
  9. Our last cruise was in a Neptune on HAL, this time a Concierge on Celebrity, basically just a stateroom with a few perks. It is going to be a let down I am afraid, but better than an inside.
  10. They have tried to include everone so thus the + otherwise it looks like someone dropped the scrabble board.
  11. And here I thought a pineapple was the international sign of hospitality. Oh, I see how it can be used for the other now, never mind. LOL
  12. I'm so old I remember it being GLBT and going out was going to church. LOL
  13. Well, I am 57 so it is an old term that fortunately isn't needed to be said very often. No need for code words any longer.
  14. Yes I did RCCL in 2004 or 2005 3 night to Ensenada and was truly a booze cruise, not to mention some sketchy passengers that I wouldn't leave anything on my deck chair other than a towel.
  15. I just remember RCCL is seems to be shoved down your throat with adds and talks, etc. LOL
  16. First time on X. My cruise is in 32 days from Seattle to Alaska round trip. I can already hear the phrase "Diamonds International" Please tell me Celebrity doesn't partner with anyone like that? Other cruise lines we have listend to port talks about shopping and they all seem to be very expensive "authentic local crafts made in China".
  17. My upcoming cruise in Sept according to the app has the meetup nightly at 6 PM right in the middle of dinner service. By the time the cruise comes around, does the activity schedule get altered any?
  18. Any suggestions for a solo cruise where they don't gauge you for being a solo? DH has given permission for me to do a solo cruise, preferably out of San Diego or Los Angeles (San Pedro). No Carnival or Norwegian please. Any suggestions for cruise lines? I am late 50's and just sailing solo, not single i.e. I am married.
  19. You scared me! This is my first X cruise leaving in about a month and I was having second thoughts. Glad the cruise went well and had great service.
  20. Interesting. I am on the Solstice 2 Sept in a concierge and we got 1130 AM. There could be a few reasons for this: You did not check in the first day check in was available The ship you are on arrives later in the morning, thus impossible to disembark, clean, and embark earlier than 1 PM.
  21. It in my opinion is an overpriced novelty. While there are other menu items available, this only works for the chicken breast or lobster. A little animated chef appears on your plate preparing and dragging your entre to your plate.
  22. I didn't see anything on the bar menus in the app so it must be something printed up that day and displayed in the bar. Thanks for the info.
