  1. I have been to the centrum when one person hogs a love seat, 3 chairs. and then their family and friends show up 5 min before an event. That's the same as hogging theater seats too. I get to a show early to get seats and I need 1 or 2 chairs and one person is hogging like 5 seats. Oh and I'll share a table. Good grief
  2. To me this is a Lyft/Uber issue. I have heard multiple times of cancelled rides for people in nearby hotels needing a ride to the pier for embarkation. Their rides are cancelled because drivers want customers from pier to the airports which get them more money. As for disembarkation, I have heard of escalating prices because the demand is higher (obviously). We decided on two choices. Royal Caribbean transfers or private car company/ride shuttle services. We went with a private van shuttle service which costs a little more, but I am hoping this means no issue.
  3. I'm leaning towards 8184 only because the other one is directly in front of the elevator traffic. If it were a couple of cabins away, I would take it.
  4. Thank you for your review. 30 minutes from the time you sat down to the time you left? I'm all for faster service (I experienced 2 to 2 1/2 hours for my meals too) but not "fast food" fast LOL! I'm looking forward to trying the new menus.
  5. So it's easy to give someone else 2 of your free diamond drinks each day. You won't be able to split a drink package though. I usually get a refreshment package and then use my 4 diamond voucher for alcoholic drinks. I don't usually have more than 2 or 3 a day.
  6. can someone remind me if you an use the refreshment package for a JR milkshake?
  7. There is a charge for water bottles but you can use one of your drink vouchers I believe.
  8. This is us too! We always go have dinner together so having them come in while we are out to eat is always convenient. I eat breakfast early, my wife eats later and we don't have the same schedules in the morning either. It can be a hassle to find reasons to be out of the cabin so they can get in there.
  9. Thanks...I know how the process works. I just couldn't remember how long it all took. Do you remember when they started allowing folks to disembark?
  10. Thank you. I don't cruise enough to know how soon self-disembarkation typically starts so thanks for that. How soon after self disembarkation do they start calling group numbers?
  11. I agree with you. I can't worry what other people do. It makes for a miserable time. I am also a casual person who hates dressing up. I do try to adhere to the suggestions though. I just can't worry about other people because it's none of my business anyway.
  12. I love this. I am a sociology major. I need to think about this as a research paper. Depending on the society and culture, cultural norms dictate how people behave. In America, we do have a sense of entitlement, because of the freedoms given to us. We push boundaries all the time. As long as we do not break laws or rules, we use our freedom to do what we want. I could go on and on. LOL! We also sometimes have a tendency to judge others who don't conform to our opinions and norms. We see that all the time! Not just on cruise ships 😉
  13. That there is the rub. People don't want to follow the cruiseline guideline and suggestions. As a society, unless it's a rule or law, we tend to want to do our own thing. Also, RC doesn't enforce it (they used to as I witnessed) anymore, giving people even more reason to ignore the suggested guidelines. I tend to follow the suggested guidelines except on formal night. For years, I didn't go to the dining room on formal night because I didn't want to dress up to the nines. Now, I go, wearing smart casual like I do on other nights. Personally, I don't care what other people wear. I care about what I wear though LOL To each his own.
  14. I fugred as much LOL Anyone know what time Allure usually docks and clears customs?
  15. What time does self-disembarkation and regular disembarkation usually start? This is for a cruise on Allure in August. I’m trying to arrange post-cruise transportation. I wasn’t sure if 8:30 or 9 is doable (we have early afternoon flights out of Hobby).
  16. Do you know what time they drop you off at airport? I have a 3:35pm flight out of Hobby.
  17. Oh interesting. I never thought of the limited capacity. I guess that should be the first place we go when we board to make a reservation.
  18. I have a 3 night dining package reserved for August cruise. I saw the following terms under it. For ships with these venues, Teppanyaki/Izumi Hibachi is included, with a $15 surcharge, and Chef's Table is included, with a $49.99 surcharge. These will be charged once onboard. I noticed that in the app, Izumi Hibachi costs $50.99, but 150 Central Park costs $54.99. Chops is also $54.99. Why is there a $15 surcharge? It seems to be cheaper than the other restaurants.
  19. Ok, thanks for that. I don't have any experience LOL
  20. Space City Moms said they only have one large SUV and one passenger van. That makes me a bit nervous if something were to happen with their vehicle or driver. No back up.
  21. She recommended Space City Moms to me. Sent her a message in morning and heard back the next day. I am a bit worried that they are a small company and are slow to communicate. Saltwater moms usually responds in a few hours though.
  22. That’s what we ended up doing. We will arrive two days before to see some of the sights and take our time coming back on last day of cruise.
