  1. They used to have plain water as an option pre shutdown (we never get the refreshment package because we only drink water during the day) and it was nice to be able to go up to one of the Freestyle machines and just get ice and water. Post restart, the only water you can get out of the machine is Dasani, and only if you have the package. Fortunately, you can still get ice for free.
  2. Not at all - a happy wife makes a happy life - and if you only sail once every few years make it memorable. As for specialty restaurants, Giovanni's is always one of our favorites, and we could eat there every night. Between the Chops and Gio's menus, you could easily eat in those two every night and never have the same meal twice. The drink package on the other hand is not something we would do (Neither one of us could ever drink enough to break even at $65/pp/per day). If your wife is not a drinker, check and see if you can get the refreshment package instead. Just to add: if you are in a full suite (GS or above) you can also order room service for any meal from breakfast to dinner from the MDR menu at no charge.
  3. We always do this, and we have rarely if ever been disappointed. The concierge can (and usually does) work magic that us mere mortals cannot.
  4. Everyone in the suite will receive four points added to their C&A account. The caveat is if those three are for example a husband wife and child, the total number of points added to their individual linked accounts will be 4 per night. Points are not additive.
  5. Interesting read, but doesn't match up with reality. We have 23 cruises booked between this July and April 2024, and every one of them now costs more (in some cases a lot more) than what they cost when we booked them. If someone is looking for a bargain price on a future cruise I wish them the best of luck, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that deal to show up.
  6. Anywhere from two days to two weeks.
  7. This is the only sound advice - advice that comes from someone who actually books cruises in Europe and books while in country. Very little (if anything) from a pricing/refund/cancellation policy in the U.S. is the same as the policies instituted in the various European countries. Hopefully someone from Europe who has first hand experience with your scenarios will chime in.
  8. Not deceiving, just a single head on perspective of the aft facing cabins. In order to get the perspective that would show the dead space below you, one would either have to be flying a drone, or taking pictures down onto someone else's balcony. Your initial description of deck 7 being cave-like gets the point across quite well.
  9. Our local CVS no longer does the drive through testing. On our last cruise, we had to go into the clinic inside their store to be tested. It was still free. If you check the box for "Rapid Test with Provider Visit" there are usually many appointment slots available.
  10. We already booked excursions for our February 2023 Panama Canal cruise (276 days out), so it apparently depends on the sailing.
  11. DW and I always do this. We have always done this with our spending - for everything. We even have separate checking accounts (although neither of us has actually written an actual check in decades.)
  12. That would be at the end of 2023. Serenade has a full schedule out of Tampa this winter and next spring
  13. I would have put it all on OBC, then cashed out the OBC for cash.
  14. A junior suite earns (in normal times) 2 points per night for the reservation # if there are two or more people on the booking. Additional people in that JS do not receive any additional points. A solo traveler in a JS earns an extra point per night. Since you will have two or more people on that reservation, you will earn 4 points/night as long as you booked prior to 9/30/21.
  15. Designed with the modern american butt in mind🙄
  16. Back in the 70's when I started travelling to Europe on business, the one thing my European counterparts consistently requested that I bring over was American toilet paper. Compared to what was available locally back then, today's ship🧻 paper is like silk.
  17. Not really any debate: A is for house guests who stay too long and act like A@@es, and B is for the people who actually live in the house and are always B#$%^ing about why someone invited those A@@es in the first place😇
  18. Definitely not the same softness as at home. It wears on you a bit😵
  19. We received one this afternoon as well.
  20. And yet no one answered their question back then,
  21. Yes, just ask at the bar or ask your waiter.
