  1. Maybe there..... it is getting back that would be tricky.
  2. I didn't read the links, but as a general rule, I'd never risk driving the road to Hana on my own on a port day unless it is an overnight in Kahului.
  3. When do you arrive (time of day)? How much luggage do you have? Are you traveling alone? If I didn't have much luggage, traveling solo, I might be tempted to take the Flyaway Bus to Downtown LA and the subway to Hollywood. https://www.flylax.com/flyaway-bus/union-station Uber would be my next choice and yes, you get your luggage, get on a LAX-it Bus and meet the Uber at the LAX-it Lot. There is no need to move hotels. Just stay in Hollywood/West Hollywood two nights and take an Uber in the morning to Long Beach.
  4. Did I miss what time your ship is scheduled to arrive? And which port? If the ship arrives in San Pedro at 9AM, you probably won't make an 11AM flight at LGB. I say probably because if you clear CBP in San Diego, then, yes I think you have a chance. If it arrives in Long Beach or San Pedro at 7AM, I'd think you make an 11AM flight easily. Same questions; which ship, which port, what time is ship's scheduled arrival? The difference between you and the OP is that they should clear CBP in San Diego the day before they get to LA. Both ports use facial recognition, so it goes pretty quick, but a lot depends on the ship arrival time.
  5. There is street parking, depending on how far you are willing to walk. Just read the streets signs as to allowed days and times and time limits. Personally I just consider parking part of my total cost of a stay.
  6. 15 minutes to Ala Moana Center, 20 minutes to Waikiki (Kalakaua & Lewers). It can vary by which bus is available and which route they take and which cruise port you are at.
  7. Just to clarify, YES, the bus stops are safe and easy to walk to, but TheBus takes 45 minutes or more to get to and from Pearl Harbor. For us, Uber or taxi is worth the cost. The only place I'd use TheBus to or from on a cruise would be to Ala Moana Center or Waikiki.
  8. You are paying $85 a person for a ONE DOLLAR ticket to the USS Arizona Memorial. For two people, that is $170 for a $2 in tickets and transportation that shouldn't cost two people more than $25 on Uber.
  9. If you are referring to the Hilo Hattie Factory Store, that is long gone. Hilo Hattie once had probably 30 stores, but is down to three small stores (Oahu, Maui, BI) and one larger store on Kauai, that as of my last HI cruise (Oct 2023) had a shuttle from the port,
  10. What is it you are looking for? Uber is the fastest, most cost effective.
  11. Because of time constraints, transportation and lack of close by facilities, I think Honolulu is the most practical. If transportation was easier and you had longer port stops, I'd say Waikoloa (Kona) and Grand Hyatt (Kauai).
  12. As far as I know Avis/Budget still has the shuttle. I am surprised others have not reinstated theirs yet.
  13. Santa Ynez will be 95° on Wednesday, Santa Barbara will be 78°.
  14. See if the thread below has the answer you need.
  15. Not in the slightest.
  16. Santa Barbara is in the 70's right now while much of the state swelters.
  17. Group of 6 with luggage for a cruise, Uber might not be the best solution. For shuttles look at Xpress Shuttles LAX, Karmel, Zippy and Mickey's Spaceship Shuttle.
  18. The $75 per person is for the 90 minute tour of the pineapple farm. The pineapple is included, so not a separate purchase.
  19. In your case, because of the car seat thing, I WOULD stay at an LAX hotel with a shuttle and then go back to LAX the next day for the Princess shuttle. There would be no need for car seats on a hotel shuttle or Princess shuttle.
  20. Some will say yes, some will say no. I don't know the official policy, but when we tendered in Lahaina in 2019 I brought back four kinds of poke for my parents and no one batted an eye.
  21. Ever been trapped in a hotel during the Sweet Adelines National Convention? I was ready for some boisterous drunks after hearing 2,000 renditions of In The Good Old Summertime in 4 part harmony over three days 🤣🤣
  22. Enh, I've been on at least 20, maybe more, Princess Mexico cruises out of San Pedro and never ever seen groups of college age kids (18-21) on any of the cruises. I don't doubt your experience, but I've never seen nor heard of such a thing.
  23. If there were "college age students" on a 7 Night Mexican Cruise out of San Pedro, I am willing to bet they were traveling with their parents, not on their own. Spring Breakers in So Cal go to "the river", Lake Powell or Mexico.
  24. If I read it right, they were looking to walk to a stop for TheBus, but life is too short, I'd Uber.
  25. Both the cruise terminals are in Downtown essentially so walking is easy. There are good sidewalks and crossing lights, But do be aware of the possibility of sudden, soaking showers. I walked to my favorite store in downtown one time and got drenched before I could get inside someplace. I cabbed back to the ship to change.
