  1. Is there any advantage to transfer my booking to a Celebrity certified vacation planner? I want to keep all communication directly with Celebrity, in case there are issues. I lost my TA a couple of years ago, so I don't have anyone I can rely on especially during off hours.
  2. Great story about Luke and I can certainly understand your pain. My soon to be 30 year old son, got a screaming deal on Bernese Mountain dog when he was in college. "Lady", was absolutely perfect for him. Unfortunately two Christmases ago he had to put her down because of cancer and it rocked our whole family. He hasn't said anything about getting another dog, I am sure he is still working through his grief. Before she passed he made an imprint of her paw and just recently got a tattoo of it on his chest. And no I am NOT crying as I type this, somebody must be cutting onions.
  3. That is crazy! I have an acquaintance that moved to that area a couple years ago and sold his snowblower before the move. I should reach out and see if he ever replaced it. I actually have two snowblowers in my garage at the moment. I purchased a newer one from a guy who repairs them and had him service my old one, now I'll store the older one until next fall and sell it then.
  4. When I wanted to feel rich/ or could afford it, I would go to KFC and order six chicken wings for less than $2. Since no one wanted them, sometimes they would laugh and give me a dozen or more. Three meals for less than $2. Now where is my Ramen. Here in Minne-snow-ta, we are still dealing with winter and a lot of flooding. Hopefully we will be able to fill all of our aquifers to eliminate any drought issues. We have broken snowfall records across the state. Duluth MN has had over 11 feet of snow so far.
  5. Thank you Lora, you are too kind. My wife and I are truly looking forward to this cruise.
  6. These pictures remind me of when I used to do fishing tournaments. We had to get up before the sun and I always enjoyed those moments...when it wasn't raining or snowing. I am with you Terry, it can be worse than being at a loud concert. Or, around the lido deck. :) Love this story! My roommate and I in college would have rent parties. A keg of Schlitz and bad spaghetti with old bread to make garlic toast. It was very popular and I can not believe we never got a visit from the police. I believe we charged $10 and had to turn people away. The money was nice, but cleaning up with a hangover the next day was not. *Loyalty perks* I don't chase them anymore since they are written in sand. I worked hard to get to a good loyalty level with Delta and twice as I was getting close, they moved the bar. So I realized that loyalty perks are for the company and they will change them at their whim, to benefit the company NOT the client.
  7. You folks are awesome for all of your help. I am booked in 1642 based on your advice, thank you all.
  8. Thank you folks, unfortunately the rooms you mention (from what I see), are not available.
  9. Per my title, we are looking at an Aqua room on Silhouette during the 1/15-1/25/24 cruise. As of 5:30pm central today these are the Aqua rooms available. I tried to look on the spreadsheet but unfortunately no luck, also I have been looking at many-many trip reviews. My biggest concern is a limited view balcony, second is noise. Maybe not in that order. This is a step up from our usual basic balcony, so I want to make sure I do a good job and get the best available room. FYI we always get the drink package and basic WiFi, from what I understand these are included with AQ. It has been well over three years since our last Celebrity (or any) cruise and we are without a TA. I am planning on just booking with Celebrity myself, unless I can find a reliable TA before, or soon after transferring it to a TA. If anyone would like to keep it off CC, please email me at Miker981 [at] gmail dot com. I need to move rather quickly as there are a limited number of AQ rooms available. Thank you so much!
  10. You are to kind. I love how much you two are enjoying the good life and share it with us. No Marcia is just like lain, they don't know what they are missing. BTW, since I trust your opinion so much I am using your trip report to decide if we are going to take a cruise on Celebrity next winter. I am still not sure if we will take any kind of trip. Prices are high, lines are still trying to 'right the ship' and then mix in problems with air travel.
  11. Oh my friend, from what I have seen from your posts you are just fine. In the past I have walked over, or waved the person over and asked them if everything is alright. Or if they wanted to tell me something since they keep looking at me. If that doesn't work, I will go talk to their boss again. I never understood the thinking of people that act this way. Great to see you great looking gents on the move again! I told my lovely bride that I am following you two again and she said, "they are on another cruise already?" 😆
  12. Love your smiles!! This brought a tear to my eye. Agree. When I finally made it on my first cruise I couldn't believe how much better than the TV show EVERYTHING was. But I still laugh at the huge size of the cabins on the show.
  13. This article reminded me of when I bussed tables at a restaurant when I was a kid (12-14). There were a few wait staff that didn't tip bussers at the end of the night or what they did tip was an insult. So I took VERY good care of the good tippers and the others had to wait. It was interesting at the end of the night when I would hear the "not good tippers" complain on how little they made and little ole me had made more than them.
  14. In an article I read Carnival said that it more expensive to do E-Muster than the old version, since you have to have more staff dedicated and they must stay at the muster stations longer. Who knows?
  15. Back when I used to occasionally smoke a cigar, I would frequent a cigar forum online. One of the gentlemen on the forum mentioned that he was going to put a a cigar cruise together. When he put the details out on the cruise I jokingly asked my wife if she would like to go and she said "YES!" I was floored, and my next thought was "now what am I going to do". I found a local travel agent who could help but I was worried about, "how the heck do you cruise?" I had never traveled before. The more I thought about it, the more worried I got. Fast forward to when I was doing a promotional fishing boat show with a friend (we fished tournaments and had the same boat) during a lull in the show, I asked him if he had ever gone on a cruise and he said yes, so I asked if he and his wife would like to go on a cruise. And just like my wife, he was like "SURE!" We met up a couple of times before the cruise to plan and pick their brains and it was such a relief. It was a lot of fun and my wife and I were able to finally take a much delayed honeymoon ten years later.
  16. My lovely bride. We are rarely lacking for anything and she does not over pack.
  17. Thank you for all of your effort. I would love to meet you and your wife at the bar sometime.
  18. Boy that sounds fantastic! But, not sure it would be worth the 36 hour round trip.
  19. We have had an in-home daycare for 30 years and I can unfortunately tell you that this is a very common response from parents.
  20. How frustrating, I have no idea how upset I would be! It's like a bad scene in the movie Ground Hog Day. I hope you all get things settled soon. It's stressful enough to travel, you don't need this BS. Another reason we are unsure when we will do any travel in the near future.
  21. Thank you for the update. Glad you made it safely!
  22. I appreciate your reviews. I hope to someday take in a music charter, mostly because of your reviews. Thank you~
  23. LOL, this Tony didn't look anything like Smoke.
